Yeah, I remember you did not particularly like that book a lot. There is a booktuber I watch who said if you liked Birthday Girl then theres a high chance youd also like Punk 57 so I am excited to test that!! I read into it already, so far so good. This reads quickly.
Laura wrote: "Linda wrote: So, I read Punk 57. It’s misleading- it’s tagged young adult because it’s about teenagers set in high school but the subject matter is adult with several topics that can be difficult to read about. Maybe I didn’t like it because it was such an accurate depiction of high school life? I thought it was a total train wreck but couldn’t stop reading.
Perhaps you will like it more especially since you didn’t mind the other Douglas book you read.
Douglas can write about some tough subject matters. I really enjoyed Corrupt. Hideaway was not what I expected. I liked it but less than Corrupt. Kill Switch is a tough one to get through. The MC Damon is even darker, sicker than the previous guys. I feel a little dirty reading book 3. So I’m reading it slower. It’s skirting the line of too dark for me. I like anti heroes with some redeeming qualities. I will read other books by her. I have Birthday Girl and Misconduct on my tbr.

No need to worry Linda! The soonest Mkat will give us a task is every other day. Sometimes I don’t sleep much and I get a lot of reading in. But I don’t recommend that! LOL
yeah, I was just too tired yesterday. I spent lunch at my mum's (we are allowed to visit family again) and the socializing really knocked me out. I fell asleep really early LOL today im cleaning a bit but I will get to read all evening, so I hope I can finish the book :D
No worries Linda! How wonderful to see your family again. We aren't there yet. It will be nice when we finally can. I can see how that would be exhausting and emotional after not seeing them for an extended period of time. It's been 7 weeks for us. I spent yesterday evening on video chat with my mom and sister in law- it helps but it isn't the same.
Yeah. It's been 9 weeks for me and it was very, very emotional and exhausting. But in the most positive way!!! My mother has 3 toddlers too, so naturally its been Chaotic and the kids were in Awe to finally see different faces besides Mum and Dad LOL I missed them. Technically we weren't allowed to hug, but I just couldnt not do it.
Its true, videochat just isnt the same. I hope you get to see your family soon.

I swear.. there's anything between a 2-5* rating in this book for me. What a rollercoaster. (view spoiler)I will check us in now! if there is anything to discuss for the new task please go on and make a decision without me (since I will be asleep).
Linda wrote: "Yeah. It's been 9 weeks for me and it was very, very emotional and exhausting. But in the most positive way!!! My mother has 3 toddlers too, so naturally its been Chaotic and the kids were in Awe t..."So glad you were able to visit your family! It was such a long time!
Here is Task 8:70. Each teammate reads a book that the teammate after them alphabetically has rated 5 stars. No pass for this task.
There is no date requirement for this task - the book just needs to be on the read shelf and rated 5 stars. So Alissa reads from Geri's shelf, Geri reads from Laura's shelf, Laura reads from Linda's shelf, Linda reads from Alissa's. Please provide a link to the teammates read shelf or review in your qualification.
Maybe you will get to it, Geri!! I'd be interested what you think of it :D Nice task!! Sorry Laura, though. I've only been on GR for 1,5 years so there isn't that much to choose from. I hope you find something.
Alissa you have a great List!! :D
Some of the german titles I shelved are definitely available in/originally in English! Like The Chemistry of Death for example. Hope you find something!Alissa, I am reading My Sister, the Serial Killer :D Heard so much good stuff about it.
Alissa wrote: "I’m going with The Bookish Life of Nina Hill."I loved that one! I hope you enjoy it too!

I’ll read Ice Planet Barbarians. I have 2 books to finish today. So I probably won’t be my usual speedy self. 😃
I'm almost done with All Grown Up. It's a shorty and my online loan on it runs out in a couple of days. The same with An Enchantment of Ravens... so I can read 2 if you want, Geri!

I’ll pick up the second book. I might try an Aurora Rose Reynold book- it would help with an individual challenge requiring a U title!Linda, your first book looks good. I requested it from my Overdrive too!
I heard it as an audio-book. In retrospect I think I should have read it. It's not a bad book but it reminded me a lot of Heartburn (which I didn't like). It's just hard to relate to for me and the narrator's voice was very whiny which really didn't help.

Ha, I tried it and sent it back!! lolI read several good/ great books that I recently enjoyed. I'm trying to keep my streak going!! I started one last night and wasn't enjoying it so had to start all over again.
Although, this isn't a hard task it does require some searching. All my books except the one I finished last night were all under the rating.
