LOL I want warm weather already! So I’ve been trying to find a profile pic for Spring.

Laura | 2514 comments 18 degrees here 2 days ago but only 6 today and windy! I still have to wear a toque walking the dog or I'll get an ear ache!

message 103: by Geri (new)

Geri | 639 comments Yes, winter temps here today. Snow tomorrow!

message 104: by Linda (new)

Linda | 234 comments I really liked my book!! My heart was BURNING for hours now thinking about it. I dont read a lot of main plot romance so this was really new to me. (and of course steamy too) I expected it to be problematic and unenjoyable but it was neither, somehow it managed to be good. I was a bit bored in the last 30% but the overall ending and epilogue was too sweet... I am still light headed Hahah Thanks for the recommendation.

Linda | 234 comments And I feel you so much I want warm weather!!!!!! We had such warm weather for 2 days and then it started to be so cold again. April at its best behaviour! (Do you have saying like this? we have a saying about april weather being crazy)

Alissa | 161 comments Sorry guys I’m slowing us down but I’m hoping to finish tonight or tomorrow afternoon I’m about halfway through.

We do have a saying that April showers bring May flowers. But it doesn’t say anything about cold and snow! LOL I like your saying about April. Very true!

Good morning!
It's a great list of tasks-looking forward to seeing which one we get next.

message 114: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31755 comments Yay - You've completed Task 1! Here is Task 2:

69. Read over 750 pages in books about the same profession, teams decide which profession.

Professions do not have to be super precise - Law Enforcement Officer, musician or something along those lines is acceptable. Please don't try to use 'food industry' and have one be a chef and another a rancher - those aren't close enough. 😉 Remember to use the Kindle page count - you all did awesome for the first task!

message 115: by Laura (new)

Laura | 2514 comments Yeah our next task! Does law enforcement officer work for everyone? Musician? What shall we pick? Alissa, what's easiest for you?

message 116: by Geri (new)

Geri | 639 comments Law enforcement officer will work for me. If it works for everyone.

message 117: by Linda (new)

Linda | 234 comments okay! Just a question. law enforcement officer means police? detective? or can it mean lawyer? sorry my non native is showing with this :DD

whatever it means I will find something and I am fine with it! I just dont want to pick the wrong one.

message 118: by Laura (new)

Laura | 2514 comments We will have to wait until Alissa checks in before we go ahead and say yes to law enforcement- perhaps there is something easier for her.

lawyer would be a profession all of it's own.

Law enforcement- police, detective, inspector ( UK) Lieutenant, CIA, FBI, etc

Your tracking post was fancy! Nicely done, Linda!

message 119: by Linda (new)

Linda | 234 comments Ok perfect thank you for the explanation!! I think I would go literal with this one. I found a german series on KU literally called Law Enforcement: Los Angeles LOL they are pretty short so I can read a second one if we would not reach page count (but I doubt it)

And yes of course we wait for Alissa!! I am going to bed now but I would be fine with anything we mentioned in the earlier posts. since I have a KU Trial now i am pretty flexible! So please go on and decide even though I am asleep! :D

And thanks!! it took a while to figure it out but in the end I did it hahah

message 120: by Laura (new)

Laura | 2514 comments That looks like a great series! Nice find.

NIght:-)

message 121: by Geri (new)

Geri | 639 comments If we go with law enforcement, my book would be 465 pages on kindle.

message 122: by Laura (new)

Laura | 2514 comments Mine is 400 pages - if that's our choice Alissa could go with a shortie.

message 123: by Alissa (new)

Alissa | 161 comments I’m good with law enforcement

message 124: by Alissa (new)

Alissa | 161 comments I’m going to find a KU book now!

message 125: by Laura (new)

Laura | 2514 comments Let's nail down these tasks so we won't have to wait for anyone to chime in to make a decision.

9. Read 6 books in the same sub-genre, teams decide.
previous discussions contemporary romance seemed to be the consensus. Still good?

51. Each teammate reads a book published in the same month and year, teams decide. No pass for this task.
which month/year works best for everyone?

52. Read 6 books set in the same location, teams decide the location.
options? throwing out ideas
Alaska, NY, London, ranch, Texas

53. Each teammate reads a different book by the same author, no pass for this task
Aurora Rose Reynolds- lots of options & shorter books
other suggestions?

54. Read a minimum of 1200 pages in books of the same sub-genre, but by different authors.
contemporary romance again?

55. Pick another team and each member reads one book that was read by a member for this challenge. No pass for this task.
any other friends playing that you know you have similar tastes?
#16,15, 8

56. Read 6 books with the same color cover, teams decide color.
blue was consensus

57. can add Canada as an option

58. Read a minimum of 750 pages in books published in any one year prior to 2018, team picks the year.

does 2017 work ?

60. Read 6 books set on a beach or in the mountains, teams decide which.
Beach seems easier - though I like both

61. Read a minimum of 1500 pages in books by the same author, teams decide author.
K.A. Tucker, Aurora Rose Reynolds, James Patterson, Amy Harmon, Penny Reid
other choices?- then let's vote

65. Read 6 books set in the same country outside the US, teams decide country.
Canada? UK? Australia? Austria?

66. As a team, pick a list with over 100 romance books on it, each member reads a book from that list. No pass for this task.
Best Romance Books Ever
All Time Favorite Romance Novels
any other suggestions.? Let's choose which list

67. Read 6 books with a specific item on the cover, team selects item.
cowboy hat, white shirt, high heels, crown, candle, flower(s) , red dress, woman's hat. Please vote

message 126: by Linda (new)

Linda | 234 comments 9. Read 6 books in the same sub-genre, teams decide.

Yes contemporary romance is perfect.

51. Each teammate reads a book published in the same month and year, teams decide. No pass for this task.

Phew thats such a hard one. should we just go for something random? or maybe we find a book that interests us all and we do a little buddy read?

52. Read 6 books set in the same location, teams decide the location.
options?
New York and London sound good to me!! Alaska sounds interesting but I would have to search around

53. Each teammate reads a different book by the same author, no pass for this task
I throw in Meg Cabot, she has tons of books and a lot of them are also under 300. But i dont know how available she is to everyone.

54. Read a minimum of 1200 pages in books of the same sub-genre, but by different authors.
contemporary romance sounds great for this. I would not mind historical romance either, they tend to be long-ish.

55. Pick another team and each member reads one book that was read by a member for this challenge. No pass for this task.
As long as its not a M/M team i am fine :D

56. Read 6 books with the same color cover, teams decide color.
blue sounds good.

58. Read a minimum of 750 pages in books published in any one year prior to 2018, team picks the year.

2017 sounds good!

60. Read 6 books set on a beach or in the mountains, teams decide which.
Beach sounds more fun. I need beach feelys in this quarantine hahah

61. Read a minimum of 1500 pages in books by the same author, teams decide author.
I'm for Amy Harmon or Penny Reid from your suggestions, Laura.

65. Read 6 books set in the same country outside the US, teams decide country.
I would not take Austria, but I would enjoy the hometown task being Vienna.
For country I would go for UK or Canada, I think thats easiest. We can also decide for something dreamier like Italy if we want to

66. As a team, pick a list with over 100 romance books on it, each member reads a book from that list. No pass for this task.
I vote for All Time Favourite Romance Novels!

67. Read 6 books with a specific item on the cover, team selects item.

this is really hard, i keep getting good recommendations from you guys and keep expanding my library. white shirt seems easiest, i guess. I dont know if we can pick something as broad as 'food' but that would also be easy to find for me.

message 127: by Geri (new)

Geri | 639 comments 9. Contemporary romance is easy.

51. I like Linda’s idea of all of us reading the same book. Or the best year for me would be 2020 since I read new releases.

52. NY and London would be easiest.

53. Penny Reid would be good since we can all get her books.

54. Contemporary romance

55. Any team that isn’t m/m

56. Blue

58. 2017

60. Beach is fine. I don’t usually read either. But I searched and added a beach book to my list.

61. How about Lauren Blakely, Helena Hunting or Tessa Bailey? They all have a long list of books to choose from. Can we all get books by these authors? They are also contemporary romance for sub genre task.

65. I agree with Linda U.K. Or Canada.

66. All Time Favorite Romance Novels. I can find something to reread.

67. I found 4 books with a white shirt on my list. So I am fine with white shirt.

message 128: by Laura (new)

Laura | 2514 comments 52. Vote-NY or London
L-NY

53. Penny Reid or Meg Cabot - vote
L- Penny Reid

61. I have access to Lauren Blakely and Helena Hunting

65- UK, Canada or Italy
L- Italy- though I'm find with any choice

67- L -white shirt
food is too broad- we would have to narrow it to cake, pie, or cupcakes

message 129: by Laura (new)

Laura | 2514 comments I’m reading If You Hear Her (The Ash Trilogy, #1) by Shiloh Walker
I’m 20% in and I already like it more than the Penelope Douglas book.

Linda, I tried to get your book but couldn’t find an English version. I think I would like it very much!

How ‘s everyone else liking their book this time around?

message 130: by Linda (new)

Linda | 234 comments I just finished mine! I could not stop reading (its a shorty after all).

The authors (its co-written/double POV) are German so I doubt they will get translated. I did not like this book very much, though.. the writing was terrible. But its their first in a longer series so maybe they get better at it. I will try it out since I actually really liked the police setting a lot! If they ever get translated I hope they improve the writing in the translation Hahaha

I am not sad about it though, I still could not stop reading.
I will post my completion in a second, but if its ok I will vote tomorrow. I am dead tired

Funny thing. Apparently, I bought the audio in 2012. It’s sitting in my library. But I don’t remember it at all. I guess I should relisten. The rest of the trilogy is on escape.

message 140: by Laura (new)

Laura | 2514 comments I loved it. I have the other books ready to go but can't read them yet because of other team tasks. Lots of her other series on my OverDrive. I m looking forward to reading them all!! Love, love love

message 141: by Laura (new)

Laura | 2514 comments I'd suggest a buddy read of a Shiloh Walker book if Alissa and Linda can access.

message 142: by Linda (new)

Linda | 234 comments I was about to suggest that too!! I found some on KU, I have to look into them. The covers dont appeal to me as much but that doesnt mean anything. Any specific ones you want to read? Then i can look at those. (She writes a LOT of books, I don't even know where to start LOL)

I will go to bed now. If we end up completing the task tonight anyone can feel free to check us in!!

message 143: by Alissa (new)

Alissa | 161 comments I will check for Shiloh Walker now and get back to y’all when I finish my book which probably will be closer to the time Linda will be waking up.

Please add a qualification to this post. It can be as simple as 'Hero is Sheriff according to title and precis.' But some sort of qualification is required - I need to know where to look! 😊
