~KarenH~ | 11359 comments Yay, we have a plan! Now I just need to decide if I want to take the easy route and do a reread of one of the several options that popped into my mind immediately, or if I want to put forth a little effort to find something I haven't read before!

message 202: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 2931 comments I usually use these challenges as a chance to push myself to try something new. I would do something I hadn't read before if I were you. More fun and surprising 😉

I mostly try to do that too, but my brain is just not cooperating tonight! Besides, I think I could use a dose of Lucky Harbor about now, so I'm going with Simply Irresistible.

Courtney | 2931 comments It's good to know you like the series. The one I'm reading is my first!

Jill Shalvis is pretty much an autobuy for me. She's one of those authors I know I can count on for something light and fun, but also well written with great characters, including the animals. If I want something to lighten my mood, she's going to be right at the top of my list of options.

~KarenH~ | 11359 comments In case anybody missed it, Kat posted this a couple of days ago in the Q&A thread:

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!!

I have been very easy going with completion posts, but beginning SUNDAY, that will change. If I ask for ask for a correction - correct page count, missing completion element, marked selection rather than completion or ??, I will be waiting for the correction prior to assigning the next task!!

So teammates, double check each other's Completion Posts and make sure they are complete and accurate!

This hasn't really been an issue for us, everyone is doing a great job of getting their posts right the first time, but it never hurts to double-check things!

Chan | 5093 comments Karen, did you notice we read the same book? It was a reread for me, but it's been a while and it was fun to read about maddie and jax again.

I did notice that! It's been a really long time since I read it...like almost 9 years. I was shocked when I realized it had been that long!

YESSS! Lucille is a hoot.

message 216: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 2931 comments She's seriously goals for me. I really want to be that old lady shamelessly hitting on young guys for fun. That's my retirement plan 🤣.

LOL I love it!

message 218: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11359 comments Lucille is amazing! One of the (many) things I enjoy about Jill Shalvis' work is her wonderful secondary characters...she really develops the personalities, even if they're not a major part of the storyline. Same thing with the animals...they have as much personality as some human characters written by other authors...sometimes even more!

message 219: by Chan (new)

Chan | 5093 comments I'm really enjoying this challenge. I hope you three are too. I've got some good books added to my shelves hehe

I added Small Town Siren and I didn't even change the horrible photo shopped cover :o)

I also added book 1 in Magical Bakery Mystery series.

message 220: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11359 comments I'm enjoying it a lot too. I have to say though, I don't know how these people who participate in multiple team challenges at the same time do it! I'm doing ok with this one and the PtP, but only because the PtP is relatively mellow and only requires one book a week. The idea of participating in two at the same time in which speed is a factor just boggles my mind! I don't think I've added anything new to my shelves yes, but a couple of things that were buried pretty deep have moved a bit closer to the top! 😁

message 221: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31637 comments Just FYI! Chan and Sarah, in the future, I need to know how to look for your your qualification. It was easy with these books, in fact I nearly forgot to look because I know they were set in Washington, because it was listed in the book details. But just saying 'set in...' doesn't tell me where to look. Not asking for corrections, just reminders for the future. 😊

message 222: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31637 comments Here is Task 6:

68. Read a minimum of 1000 pages in books written by an author whose first or last name begins with the first letter of a teammate's screen name.

The books you choose need to have an author with a first or last name that matches a teammates screen name. You can not use your own screen name initial for this task - lucky Cs. Make sure you use the Kindle 1st edition page count.

message 223: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11359 comments Ugh, this one doesn't make me happy at all! I'm sure I can find something without too much trouble, but it's going to take some shuffling... 😕

message 224: by [deleted user] (last edited Apr 27, 2020 01:52PM) (new)

Ok, so can we pick anyone else in our group? For example I can use an author with the initials K or C? Or do we all need to pick the same letter?

message 225: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11359 comments Right, you can use K or C. We can't all use the same one since we can't use our own...

message 226: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm enjoying the challenge a lot as well! I do know that if I was working right now there is no way I would be able to keep up lol

message 227: by [deleted user] (new)

Ok, I re-read the challenge :)

I added that one, too, and my husband came in the room while I was putting it into Calibe. He had many comments about the cover 🤣

message 230: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11359 comments Just FYI...the book I'm reading (Fortune) is well over 500 pages long, so if anyone wants to read a short book but is concerned about the total page count - go for it, I've got you covered! 😁

message 231: by Chan (new)

Chan | 5093 comments I was out most of today so playing catch up. Looks like Courtney and I are the lucky ones, we can use C, K & S hehehehe

I'll find something and start it before bed.

hahahahahaha....that might be a bit disturbing. Is it audio? If not, then just change the name to something else when you read it. idk...it might help.

message 233: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 2931 comments They should make some kind of program to change names in books 🤣. I read one last year, and the heroine's name was the same as my friend's daughter's name, and I had to purposely mispronounce it in my head to make it seem different. Way too much work!

message 234: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 2931 comments After much deliberation, I'm going with Brooklynaire.

message 240: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes it was a new release, I had the eARC from Netgalley. It was enjoyable, pretty standard Robyn Carr

message 241: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11359 comments I need to get Robyn Carr back on my short list. I've read the Virgin River and Thunder Point series, but then got sidetracked and haven't been back.

message 244: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11359 comments Sarah and Courtney - will you please change your completion posts to Task 6 instead of Task 5? Thanks!

~KarenH~ | 11359 comments Thanks, Courtney! It wasn't really necessary to repost in this case, you could have just made the fix, but this works!

message 248: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31637 comments I'll let that little error slide - this time. 😉

Here is Task 7:

51. Each teammate reads a book published in the same month and year, teams decide. No pass for this task.

Use the initial publication date for this task and everyone reads from the same month and year.

message 249: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11359 comments Ok, time to collaborate again...we need to pick a month and year. Anybody have any preferences?
