I couldnt get hold of the kindle edition for second harvest.

I'm only part-way through, but it doesn't appear to have a trans main character. (Only his transitioning Aunt JuliKate.) Tab is gay...we only know a little about Demi and Nick through his narration, and that's not a lot so far, so I could be wrong. I'll let you know!

Review: Well, that was a pleasant surprise!
I kind of figured out the plot twist early on...but it was written in such a way as to leave you guessing. I loved that. Also, I'm not an artist and I'm not big on artistic techniques, but how the drawing was incorporated into the story was quite engaging and the bit about how portraits are life-like, but not completely realistic because they can never encompass the entirety of an individual's personality, was a great way to tie into the Demi-or-Nick choice.

Team 9 have also posted their task 4 completion.
I think its only the two teams who have done task 4.

Yes - I was surprised by how engaging it was. Unrealistically off the planet, but very amusing.

Got a couple of hours to kill before bed.
Guys, if listed after I go to bed, I am happy to go with the majority decision.
I am back at work this week full time so reading will be limited.

Spooky writer and small town cop with a mystery and murder thrown in there. Yes, please. Great setup for the next book in the series seeing as nothing's really been solved and I really need to know.

Review: Damn.
Every time I pick this series up after neglecting it for far longer than I should, I find myself surprised by how good it is. How it's so well-written, tightly edited and perfectly paced. How much emotion gets packed into the love story.
You'd think I'd have learned by now. And that I would have learned not to let too much time pass between each installment. But that's the thing - Cole has woven such a great story that it feels like I only read the previous one last week (instead of months ago).
God, I love these two characters and how hard they work for their relationship. How much effort each of them is willing to expend. And that each of them is by no means perfect.
I kind of want to start the next one right away so I don't lose this awe, don't lose the momentum. But I have other challenges to read for and I know that I can pick up the next book and fall easily back into the swing of things without losing the threads. Can't wait to see what Sade is up to, whether (and how) Anjulie and Gabi go from roommates to something more (please let this be a thing!), and how our boys are gonna nail that fucker Sila. Plus, how Malcolm and Seoyong-Jae get their well-deserved Happily Ever After.
And that's another thing...I'm not even sure that's a done deal. Not yet. Which scares the ever-loving fuck out of me.
(Also, #Points! for the plot twist there because I thought I had this one figured out pretty definitively and, well...nope.)

This was a reread in preparation for book 2. There's something about this plotline ~ witches and mortals, police and non-believers, murderers ~ that appeals. Its a mystery but its super-lite. And that's suits me just fine!

I’ll be asleep in a couple of hours. I’ll check the thread when I get up.
I’d appreciate it if you could post our completion in the Q&A thread though when you finish if you have time.

I wanted to read this book for a long time.
Kimo is a cop who is gay but he is having trouble coming to grips with being gay. Through the book we see him finally embracing the gay. Not really a romance, hardly any sex, but I thought a good mystery , and as usual I didnt guess who done it.

75. Read 6 books that have the same romance trope, teams decide which trope.
Include in your qualification what trope you decided on.

If we agree where we need to, we can then start reading when the next task is called.
Not complaining but I have a couple of hours before bed and I can't read. :(

Friends to lovers,
Childhood Friends Become Gay Lovers 302 books
Childhood Friends Become Gay Lovers pt 2 54 books
There are also lists by year of release - https://www.goodreads.com/search?utf8...

Fake Boyfriends,
Men with Kids
Best Gay dealing with Children 518 books

The second one is a bit harder so lets skip that. I'll go find some lists and add them to this post whilst you think about it :) I'm fine with either option...
...Thinking Men with Kids might be the easiest.
If there's some other trope that is easy, post away.

Fine with me - I'll add it to the finalising list :)

Also fine with me.

I'm starting my second. It's relatively short, too, so I should be done in a couple hours.
