nice, just the right amount of snark to keep it light without me having to roll my eyes.
Loved the way at the end when Mal wanted to add to the farm, he just went out and did a few jobs.

I don't know why I put off some books, but this one was languishing on my TBR for ages. Finally I'm pushed to read it, and it was great! A bit of friction, some dancing around each other, an interfering family (at times) and a great ending not filled with stupidity. Loved it.
Loved the narration!

Review: I do so love the Fake Boyfriend trope, and even though it was a very small aspect of the plot for this installment I still really liked the story.
So often I wish that more pro athletes would come out so that those coming up in the leagues or considering joining a sport could feel welcome and accepted. However, it needs to be on their own terms and only when they are ready. I know journalists have a job to do but outing someone against their will is NOT ON and while I don't think they're (necessarily) the Enemy of the People (unlike Cheetolini and his ilk) I do think that tactics like this, and paparazzi gotcha photographs, are contributing to why many people hate the media.
Some say it's Hearst's fault...but sales fuel that drive and until we stop sensationalizing such things it won't stop. So, yeah, that's a history/sociology lesson for another day.
Anywho, loved the story (especially how Ollie was an unapologetic bottom) and how it had a thoughtful, considerate ending. I used to say that I couldn't imagine giving up a career or promotion (or different, better job) for someone else, and then I had a kid. Took his first 5 years off to be a mom and I don't regret it; for him, I'd do it again in a heart-beat. So I really appreciated Lennon's dilemma and how he reasoned out his decision.
(#Points! for mentioning that, while the NHL created the You Can Play initiative, hockey is not necessarily an environment that a gay player would feel comfortable coming out in, and that they've yet to have an openly gay player. International teams have the only ones.)
Also, the audio was really good. Each of the narrators had strengths & weaknesses: Alexander's Boston accent was good while his Southern accent was less convincing; Iggy's Jet was damned good and his Lennon was endearing, but his Ollie was kinda cringey. That said, I enjoyed listening to it and can't wait for the next book to fit a challenge!

If bodies are the draw, I could plant/stage some around the property - you know, like animals etc. Sadly I don't access to human bodies like the universities, but plenty of animals die of natural causes here 😇

People donate their bodies to the farms and then the scientists compare how certain things act on the decomp of the bodies, weather etc. I think some are left for animals as well.
It was recently shown in a tv show called Lincoln Rhyme - the Hunt for the Bone Collector.
I think a lot of forensic scientists go there to study to see if certain things are possible.

I think this is my favourite so far in this series - the MCs are both great, and anyone geeky is generally a win with me. So deserving. And King's 'family' are wonderful; their banter adds further warmth to the story and for the MCs.
Narration by Greg Boudreaux - 5 stars as usual!

Review: I think Trio recommended this to me and I'm glad she did! What started out as slightly angsty but hella hot became a really touching story about love and loss and growth and acceptance and the hard work it takes to make a relationship...well, work. And still hella hot.
The age-gap and differing background tropes were also brilliantly explored (in relation to profession, status, power, money, etc.) with both MCs learning to compromise.
And that letter from Kyle broke my heart!

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Reading the blurb I thought it would be dark and gritty and maybe a little like the TV show Mindhunter

Review: When I listened to these back to back, I usually skip over the intro/glossary, but this time I was glad for the refresher. Still had to increase the play speed since Marc's narration is a little slow for my taste...and those accents are still a bit cringey.
But I love this series and now I think I'm ready for the first TIN installment!

No worries M - I'm going to be busy as well - more cattle processing... But I always see the call at the beginning of the day so that I can get it downloaded.
Hopefully I can squish in a book :)
