I am having trouble remembering the title of a book I read about 4 or 5 years ago. I do not recall all too much about it, except that there were these young people who were followed by guys in black suits throughout the beginning, and then they were taken to a different world underground, I think? I recall it being quite a dark book, with gun-like weapons and death, although it being in a middle school library. It was apart of a series, and I also remember (view spoiler)[the book ended with the main characters being chased by the police-type people of the world or a group of people who were working in some type of mine, and then they fell down this chasm type thing. I think a character had died right before they fell down it, as well. (hide spoiler)] The second book in the series has a cover of them falling, I think, and that's where the story picks up. As you can tell, I do not recall all too many details whatsoever, but would love to find this book once again and finish the series with a new perspective, as I am now older than when I first started it. Any help would be extremely appreciated!

I remember the book being quite creepy and darkish, with a Courage The Cowardly Dog type feel? Like, it was that type of dark :p But, I was in the 7th grade at the time, so it might have just been me. I look forward to re-reading the book, and I hope you live the greatest of lives ever X)
