Agreed. That is what I've chosen for this category, as well. Just under the wire! She was born 10/75 and this got published 1/00. Whew! As Melissa wrote, "Been on my TBR too long."
The collected poetry and letters of Rimbaud have been sitting on my shelf for ages, so that's what I'm reading!
I'm having a hard time with this one. Technically I already filled it with Nimona, but I'd like at least one more, preferably prose, and nothing I'm seeing speaks to me yet. Maybe I'll go for the Austen. She rocks. But I can't help but feel like that's cheating some how (can't put my finger on *why* I feel that.)
shame i just finished "Frankenstein" in december... had i but known! but i can only recommend it, shelly´s novel is truly remarkable!

Just finished "The Neon Bible" by the same author as "Confederacy of dunces
It posted before I was done. The Neon Bible was written by John Kennedy Toole when he was 16 but not published until after his death.
Does anyone know how old Emily St John Mandel was when she published Station Eleven?
Emily St John Mandel was born in 1979 and the book pubbed 2014.

I might go with Carson McCullers' The Heart is a Lonely Hunter. It's been on my TBR list for ages. She wrote it at age 23.

Reading The Mime Order by Samantha Shannon for this challenge--it's the second book in a series, but the author is still only 23!
I just completed "The Heart is a Lonely Hunter" by Carson McCullers for this task. This book was excellent!
