SOLVED. YA/SF arcade kid is a super hacker, but socially awkward. [s]

I think I read this in paperback around 1990, definitely came from school library. I want to say it is called something like 'Video Kid'. I remember the kid was also a teenager, hyperactive, and there is an explicit scene in the middle of the book where the printed font uses a computer typeface as the kid is hacking something, and he seems to lose his virginity to either an avatar or maybe someone else on another Usenet type account. I remember the book is actually kind of risque funny, especially in the sex scene. The kid hangs out in the arcade a lot, and I remember part of the drama was the arcade was being torn down and the kid didn't want that to happen. Definitel a coming of age kind of story. Any ideas?
