It seems to me that Mr Koontz, especially in more recent years, likes to create characters with strange names. At least, I think they're strange, no offence if there really is a Leilani Klonk or Shearman Waxx reading this! I thought it might be a fun topic to discuss. Do you think someone pointed out that the names were a bit 'odd' and gave him a winning idea? Ha ha.

Great idea Hil. I'll put several into the mix...Erika Helios, Martin Stillwater, and Addison Goodheart. I will be thinking--this thread has captured me.
Vladimir "Corky" LaPuta, Heinrich Kokoschka, Dusty Rhodes... Punchinello Beezo! Certainly has a sense of humour!
Thank you Hil :-) Jilly Jackson in By the Light of the Moon is one of my favorites. I also love Holly Thorne & Jim Ironheart in Cold Fire. Will think of others I'm sure.
Maybe not the strangest but maybe the longest.... in the opening to THE CITY....
My name is Jonah Ellington Basie Hines Eldridge Wilson Hampton Armstrong Kirk = whew !!
I also like Odd's soulmate's name Stormy.
We could branch out into pet names... Terrible Chester! But I guess pet names can often be silly in real life. That's certainly a stupidly-long name Betsy! And yes Stormy Llewellin had a silly name, but it is quite pretty.
Barbara wrote: "Punchinello!!!!!! Lol"Well the character is an evil clown, so I suppose it works. But the book says that's what he was christened!
Tracy wrote: "My nephew named his "elf on a shelf" Milo. I thought it was cute."This is weird (and off topic) but I'd never even heard of an elf on a shelf until last weekend, and now I've heard them mentioned 3 times since! Strange how that happens.
Nancy and Larry prefer to be called Clotilda and Grimbald, and their daughter Brunhild who prefers the name Penny, last name Boom. -Relentless
Meran wrote: "Now I'm going to have to look up "elf on a shelf" ☺️"It's become a popular Christmas tradition among people I know who have children. The elf sits in a spot and then is in a different place each day. It keeps an eye on the kids and reports to Santa on how the kids have been behaving. Personally, it seems to me that the elves must be stalkers. ;)
Chad wrote: "Edgler Foreman Vess certainly is a strange one (from Intensity)."My favorite Koontz novel! And I agree, very strange, but accurate. (Edgy, a "foreman" referring to the house and it's construction, and "vess"tige). At least, that was my interpretation. =)

Like cctv...Big Brother is watching! I find this creepy.
Enoch Cain, Jr. meaning Dedicated which all good psychopaths' are! From the Corner of His Eye
Edglar Foreman Vess--"fortunate and powerful, dweller of the boundary...more good names for psychopath. From Intensity.
I literally believe that Koontz sits at home thinking of the most unique names he can...or uses a "Sims" name generator. ;)
