I'm looking for a book I read in Elementary school. It starts out with the mothers death, and so the four sisters must disguise themselves as boys and learn trades to survive. (One becomes a Taylor, and another becomes a hunter, and I can't remember what the other one becomes.) They get so skilled at their crafts that they are invited to castle to demonstrate them. At some point they have to get an egg crack it open and them sew it shut, but that is all I can remember. Please help.

Is the book a picture book? A beginner's chapter book? It sounds interesting.
It was a picture book. I remember the illustrations were very colorfull. I know the older sister who becomes a taylor had black hair, but it had some blue in it too.
