I am Jiggs, from the Philippines!
A friend of mine shared an article about 2017 Reading Challenge on Facebook, and now I'm here! This is my second time having a challenge on books, but this is definitely more interesting than last year's (not saying that 2016 was not cool, it's just traditional). I like the concept of having themes for each book in the list. For a writer wannabe, it will be a great help to engage in this year's cool checklist, because usually, I just read books of my favorite genre and neglecting those that are not. Looking forward for another year spent in different worlds and times in between the pages!

Hi, Vera! Your child is so lucky to have a mom who loves reading books. I think you can have bonding time by reading short stories with your child. Just remembered the scene Grew reading bedtime stories to his daughter in Despicable Me movie.

I've decided to join in this challenge to see if I can actually clear my TBR pile. I mainly read chic lit/romance. Tonight while going through my books trying to match them to prompts I've discovered I tend to prefer British authors so I plan on using the prompts I've been unable to do to guide me into widening my reading choices.

My name is Jenny and I live in snowy Bismarck, ND. We've gotten 43.5 inches of snow since the end of November and are expecting another major weather event tomorrow.
I work in our neighboring city (Mandan, ND) as a kindergarten classroom aide at an elementary school. I'm also currently working on my Masters in Library Science online thru the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
I'm excited to meet everyone and read some books that I may not usually pick up!
I picked up the January book (The Winter People) at my local public library the other day and I'm excited to get started!

Happy New Year All!

I'm two classes away from my Masters in Library Science, and I'm hoping I will be able to return to school this summer to complete it. Life got in the way, and I had to take a break.
On a final note, my 10 year old has been asking me to find her a reading challenge to participate in, so I'll probably pick 12 prompts from PopSugar for her to try out. She's not a fast reader, but she can do one book per month along with any other reading she does for school.

Any recommendations are welcome !
Happy reading folks :)

Great to be here!

I am Rona from Wexford in Ireland.
I have taken part in a previous Popsugar Challenge but sadly I wasn't able to complete it. Hopefully I will manage to complete this challenge, this year. Look forward to getting to know you all and chatting about books x

My name is Rashiqa. I live in Madison, WI. With a busy life, work, and family, I try to read as much as possible, catching a few minutes here and there in my day. I haven't caught up on the idea of audiobooks or e-books because I still love the feel of a real book in my hands (If you are wondering.......I am not old! I am in my late thirties :)). Maybe it is time to do that if I want to read more! For 2016, I set a reading challenge of 20 books but could go through only 18 :(
I came across the Popsugar challenge on the goodreads app and I am excited to try out the 40 book challenge (haha!). Especially, looking forward to the variety of books that it introduces me to!

I'm hoping to read through the list using a mixture of my TBR pile (which is roughly the height of Snowdon!) and some new books.
I'll happily read either e-books or paper books. I love a 'proper' book, but I do a lot of travelling, so e-books are much more convenient!

I'm Emma from England. Formerly a voracious reader, these days not so much, so hoping this challenge will get me reading more.
I'm matching as many of the prompts as possible to books I already have either on my kindle or on my shelf/bedside pile - I know it's supposed to be about discovering new things but I really need the push to read what I already have (I still buy books as if I'm reading 1 a week, but it's been more like 1 every 2 months lately!)
I'm trying to save money and not buy any new for at least 6 months, but I can raid the library, DP's shelves and borrow from family or friends to supplement my own tbr pile and break me out of my comfort zone.

I'm Lakendra from Louisiana. I work at the public library in Calcasieu Parish and I read all the time.
I usually don't keep up with adding all of my books to Goodreads but I'll try to this time lol.
I have Ideas for my book list of the prompts on the Reading Challenge but I was wondering if reading stuff like Manga, Graphic Novels and Comics count for the prompts? Or is that more of a personal choice? Thanks for all your help :)

I'm from New York and I use to read all the time when I was younger. I don'tknow why I stopped but now I want to read again. I did not know where to start until I came across this challenge from a booktuber. I look forward to an exciting new year with falling in love with reading again.

Hello neighbor! I'm in Grand Rapids so just a few hours from you. My company has an office in TC and I try to get there a few times a year. Welcome!

I discovered the challenge mid-year of 2016 and I found it encouraged me to try some things I might not otherwise read, and definitely inspired me to read some things I've had sitting in TBR. Hopefully this year I'll get through even more prompts!

I only recently got back into reading 2 years ago when I bought a Kindle. Last year my reading challenge was to read 24 books (2 a month) of any kind and I'm proud to say I hit 30 on NYE.

I decided to do something besides the Goodreads challenge in order to guide my reading a little more, and I am excited about this challenge.

I'm Jennifer from Long Beach, NY - I recently came across the popsugar challenge as well as the book riot challenge and the books and ladders challenge. I couldn't choose between the three so I decided to kind of put them together. Is that allowed in this group? I wasn't sure if this was just focused on popsugar....
