I've been there for a while (about 6 month from now, when I started working on the 2015 challenge in earnest) but I never quite go to introducing myself.
My name is Christophe, 44 years old French male (turning 45 in a few days - now, this can't be right!); I've been living in Paris for most of my adult life even though as a kid I lived in various parts of the country. Making a living as an IT professional working for a university, even though I'm also a part time union official these days. Had started a PhD history, but I've put it on hold when my son was born a few years ago - those 18th Century archive boxes will keep, won't they? The kid is now a 7 years old avid reader, bless him!
My reading tastes are hugely eclectic, with a focus on 20th Century novel, in French as well as in English; quite a few books on history too, but less so now that my PhD is on hold. Plus: mysteries, travel writing, some poetry and theater, science books, etc.
What I love bout the challenge: the quest for books that fit into each category, preferably in a more on less twisted way!

I stumbled upon the Popsugar Challenge last year and gave it a whirl. I didn't finish all 50 books but really enjoyed being forced to read books outside my comfort zone. I tend to stick to mysteries, romances (as long as they're not too sappy or chick lit-ish), biographies (especially history) and historical fiction, but I really will read just about anything. I'm excited about getting good book suggestions from this group to fit into the prompts for the challenge and actually finishing the challenge this year! I've already gotten some great recommendations and I'm excited to keep going!

Good luck everyone!

I used to spend most of my time reading when I was little and fell out of the habit when I left for university. Now that I'm a full time employee I'm looking to get back into reading in my free time and read a little quicker (': (took me a year to read ASOIAF)
I found the Pop Sugar reading list on Tumblr and by Pop Sugar's recommendation for Good Reads, here I am!
Hopefully I'll get a lot of reading done this year!
Good luck everyone!

I tried to do the Popsugar challenge last year, but stopped matching what I read up to the list at some point. I know I didn't finish the whole list, but I still read 140 books in 2015.
Back in January I decided that I wanted to look for a reading challenge and found the 2016 challenge. I then stumbled onto this group while trying to decide what to read for certain categories and decided to join. :) So far I have read 4 books for the challenge and have a lot more picked out. :D

I'm Janae; I'm 29 and have been an avid reader for at least 26 of those years, lol. I am new to the PopSugar challenge, but I have already read some books that allow me to tick off subjects, and I'm looking forward to more. As of now, this is the third challenge I've picked up this year, but the only structured one. I am participating in the Goodreads Challenge (75 books), and the Mount TBR Challenge (Mt. Vancouver level - completing 36 books that I already own), so I look forward to adding to this, as well as seeing how many books I can make fit as many challenges as possible.
Anywho, I'm happy to join this group and get some inspiration as I continue to read my way through this year! :-)

I'm Sheena from Ontario Canada. This is my second attempt attempt at the Popsugar Challenge. I'm hoping to get all 40 done this year, and looking forward to reading some of the book suggestions on a few of the categories that have me stumped.

I just discovered the challenge this weekend and thought I'd give it a go. It definitely looks challenging and I like that.

Hahaha!
I am not in Maldives right now, I am actually studying in China but yes, I am worried about my country. Especially after hearing that 5 of the Solomon Islands have nearly disappeared. :(

Looking forward to completing this challenge and sharing recommendations. I am over halfway through so on target.

It's great to find this group!

I just discovered the ATW52 challenge. Looks neat.

I'm from London, UK. I like reading books and I'll be doing the 2017 Reading Challenge.
I look forward to discussing books and my progress in the challenge.

Welcome, Aneerah!
I'm a Michigander as well. I'm in Grand Rapids.

I just found this group and the challenge sounds like fun. I really enjoy reading challenges as a way to keep my reading going. I will plan to start with the 2017 list and look forward to getting to know every one as the year progresses.
By the way, I am 56 and currently live in Knoxville, TN though I am a born and bred New Yorker and we plan to move to Albuquerque NM in a few years.
I am also crazy about dachshunds. 8-)

I'm Anna from Moscow, Russia. I saw a post about this challenge on Facebook and decided to join. I used to read a lot when I was a teen, but after I had kids (which was quite early) I fell out from my habit to read at least one book a week. I try to read more books now and watch less Netflix:) My favorite authors are Douglas Adams, Erich Maria Remarque and Richard Dawkins.

Another Michigander here. I live near the Flint area. This will be my third year doing the PopSugar Challenge and I belong to lots of GoodReads groups so I cannot believe I never saw you guys before. I probably will never finish but I love playing along.
2015 Challenge: 29 prompts completed
2016 Challenge: 23 prompts/ 24 books (because of the book with its prequel)

I found the 2016 Challenge back in January, but did not know about this group until the 2017 Challenge was posted. I am retired now so I spend my time doing genealogy research, knitting, and reading. My niece and I visit the library every week to drop off one stack of books, pick up another, and knit for 3 hours.
I used to read lots of romance and in recent years it has been lots of cozy mysteries, but I am doing 4 different challenges this year and I am trying to check off my TBR lists all those classics that we should have read in high school, college, etc. as well as diversify my reading categories more.

I am really excited to challenge myself and try to knock out as many of these challenges as possible. I am mostly a historical fiction reader but have found this last year that books I've read outside of my comfort zone have become some of my favorite books.
This year I stared a YouTube channel and definitely plan to share my journey through these challenges on there, I'll leave the link to it below. If anyone has any recommendations for me that'll fit any of the challenges please let me know. Good luck everyone and have a great day!
