message 2301: by Ruth Anne (new)

Ruth Anne (motherhill816gmailcom) | 3 comments Hello WrEn (and others who are following this conversation.) Since our Book Group has chosen to read banned books for the entire year, I think this prompt should be very do-able for me! This month we read "And Tango Makes Three" and will discuss that tonight at our meeting. (Yes we read children's books, YA, adult...a little of everything.) It always amazes me to realize how many books I've read that have been banned for one reason or another. I haven't chosen any one of them simply because they are banned....most the time I don't even realize they are objectionable and then I argue with myself as to who would find the book objectionable and for what reason? Have a good evening and may you be warm and snug inside and not shivering in the deep freeze blanketing your neighborhood.

Meisha Thomas | 4 comments Hi All! Meisha here from VA. I like to listen to hooks. My poor TVs see much less of me with this hobby. I think the electric company's been wondering what's happening too. LOL!! Anyway, I am taking this challenge to broaden my scope of reading/listening. I seem to choose the same type of books. Hoping the suggestions in this group will open new areas of interest.

message 2303: by Themis (new)

Themis Hello! I'm Themis from Louisiana. Excited to read a lot more books this year than what I've been reading in the past couple of years.

message 2304: by Ren (new)

Ren | 9 comments Hi! I'm Ren (they/them), and I've been doing this challenge on my own so far, but I wanted to join you guys now that I have goodreads because it seems like it would be better to do this with other people, especially with some of the harder prompts. I'm not really sure how this group works, but I'm excited to figure it out!

message 2305: by ꕥ Charlotte ꕥ (new)

ꕥ Charlotte ꕥ (awkwardbookworm_) Hello, everyone! I'm Charlotte (she/her) and I recently got back into reading a few years back! Wanted to give this a shot so my current read may not fit into any categories as of now but we'll see into the future! I'm probably one of the only few who are situated in the UK and strictly reads non-spicy books :)) would love to meet new people and add even more books to my TBR lmao

message 2306: by Diana (new)

Diana (diammend) | 4 comments Hey! I am Diana! I'm Brazilian and have always been a mood reader so now I decided to change things a bit!
Since this year I am a senior (i will graduate in December) and have to study for college, I won't be able to read so much but I still want to give it a go!

Karel Thorne (karelrthorne) | 1 comments Hey yall bookworms!!!

This is Karel here. So basically I'm a wattpad newbie writer with a half published book.

And I'm a reader of any genre that's not philosophical but I LOVE mystery and thriller genre with a little bit of romance. I used to read a lot but now, due to some personal reasons I barely get time to pick a book up and put my mind into it. But whenever I get time, I'll be sure to read anything I get my hand on.
It's been a while since I joined this group but I haven't participated in any of the contests.

If you're interested, the book which I was publishing in wattpad is Unblinking. I temporarily stopped publishing the chapters because of some personal reasons. I'll be grateful if I get your support.

HAPPY READING!!!

My friend Rachel-Anne suggested this book to me after i commented about her posts about the 2023 challenge.
I love character driven fiction, and collect graphic novels. My main goal this year is to make a dent in my TBR pile, so i may have to get creative with how i complete the various challenge prompts!

len ❀ [ia bc of school] (lenslens) | 1 comments hi! my name is elena, i'm 23, i live somewhere in the southwest, and work at an office. i've been a reader my whole life, but i've usually always stuck to romance because it's the genre i've been reading the longest. however, lately i've been feeling tired of it and even burnt out, so i've wanted to try and challenge myself to read different genres when i can. i haven't tried other challenges, but these popsugar prompts are always on listopia lists so i figured "why not actually try it myself." so here i am. i'm looking forward to finding new books, authors, and reading books i probably wouldn't read if it weren't for this challenge! personally i find them very motivating.

message 2332: by Lhoss (new)

Lhoss | 8 comments Hello, I'm Anna from Italy. I've been embracing the challenge since 2018 (!!!), and I've often taken a look at the discussions in this group to find the right suggestions to complete all prompts...but I'm probably a lurker at heart, so it hadn't occurred to me to join the group before.

I'm into classics and lit fiction, but I don't mind genre fiction and non-fiction in smaller doses.

message 2335: by Sasha (new)

Sasha Wolf | 165 comments Hi everyone! I'm Sass, which is short for Sasha. I'm from Scotland, but currently living in London for work. It's not so convenient for my husband's work, though, and I now work remotely due to a disability, so we're hoping to move in the next year or two, possibly to the Midlands. I haven't been reading much since I stopped commuting, so this challenge is a way to motivate myself to fit it in again. Happy for anyone to add me, I will add back.

message 2341: by Abdullah (new)

Abdullah Khalefh | 1 comments I'm Abdullah, author of Whispers of the Shape of Love. I'm passionate about emotional storytelling—especially love stories that explore the quiet moments, unspoken feelings, and the depth of human connection. Romance, to me, isn’t just about happily ever after; it’s about vulnerability, growth, and the beauty found in both joy and heartbreak.

I'm hoping to join Novel Friends to share my work, connect with others who value meaningful themes, and be part of a thoughtful community of readers and writers who appreciate the emotional power of a well-told story.

message 2342: by Ellen (new)

Ellen Marcolongo | 37 comments Hello,
I'm Ellen. I live in Florida. I have done the pop sugar challenge in other groups so I thought I join a group dedicated to the challenge. I look forward to discovering new books!

message 2343: by Acidic Quagga (last edited Jul 30, 2025 01:26PM) (new)

Acidic Quagga (acidicquagga) | 15 comments 💖Hello!💖

I'm Acidic Quagga! I'm genderqueer and my pronouns are They/Them. Throughout my life, I've lived across Canada and am currently on the east coast. While I couldn't wait to get out as a teen, as I've gotten older I've developed more of a love for the place I currently call home. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🧷🗺️🌊

I'm the parent and protector of three beautiful feline daughters; Magnolia, Celeste, and Coco. They are my true family and greatest joys, and have been an absolute blessing during some of the hardest times in my life. 😺😽😻

As far as reading goes, I love both fiction and non fiction, adventure, fitness and sports, cultural studies and literature, environmentalism, psychology and mental health, self help, wilderness, DIY, arts and crafts, queer literature, feminist studies, antiracism, non-human advocacy, bizarro, horror, sci-fi, fantasy. 🏋️💊🪡🏞️🚯👻🔮

In my day to day, I enjoy filling my days with reading, music and singing, walking/hiking, running, biking, swimming, working out, DIY, embroidery, jewelry making, and probably a few more things I'm forgetting. 🏃🎶🧵😷

I look forward to taking part in the Popsugar Challenge, even though I've only got half the year left. My plan is to read at least one book per week, although I have some additional books I'm eager to read on top of those, so we'll see how many I manage to finish. At the end of the day, however, I'm going to take as much time as required to enjoy a book, rather than do a speed read just for the sake of numbers. 📋🐇🧮🐢😹

I also haven't written a book report or review for about a decade now, but I intend to start writing them. I hope it'll be fun to relearn how to write them. ✍️😅

I hope to make some friendly acquaintances here on Goodreads and with those doing the Popsugar Challenge. I look forward to seeing what books ya'll read, and feel free to add me as a friend!

✨📖😽💖😸👁️‍🗨️✨
