I’ve always been an avid reader, but the last few years have been so busy, I’ve struggled to find the time to really be able to read and enjoy a good book. I’m hoping that by participating in this challenge, I’ll be able to figure out a way to balance work, family, and my love of reading!

Reigna (azukirei) | 1 comments Hi My name is Reigna and living in Japan. There's not too many English books here so will mostly be using amazon to buy the books. I haven't read much English books since moving here so hope the 2019 Challenge will get me back into reading more variety of books. Can't wait to explore various types of books :D

Rajalakshmi Prithviraj (rajalakshmiprithviraj) | 1 comments Happy New Year. I am Rajalakshmi, with Lakshmi or Raj as my nicknames. I am a working mom of two adorably naughty daughters. I stay in India. I love reading and wanted to try something new, some kind of a challenge, this year. Came across the challenge via Google. Glad that I found it. Really looking forward to an amazing reading journey.

Happy Reading to all members.

Warmest regards
Rajalakshmi

message 1560: by Randi (new)

Randi Robinson (wvteddy) Hi! I’m Randi from St Albans, WV. I tried this challenge last year but didn’t get it all completed. It forced me outside my comfort zone on several prompts. I decided to give it a try again.

message 1561: by Bridget (new)

Bridget Sampson (bridgetsampson) | 6 comments Hi All! I am Bridget, a 37 year old stay at home mom and part time student. I have 4 little ones (ages 9, 7, 5 and almost 3). I'm an avid reader but sometimes fall into a rut depending on the pressure of my school work and the constant chaos that is having 4 kiddos.
I live north of Pittsburgh, but am from Virginia, just outside DC.
Can't wait to be on this journey with you all!

message 1562: by Sophia (new)

Sophia (evri) Hi I'm Sophia from London, UK. This is the first year I'm doing the Pop Sugar challenge which I found out about on Twitter. I love reading challenges but don't seem to finish them very often (probably because I take on too many!). Besides this challenge I will be taking part in the Hodderscape reading challenge which will help me read more SFF during the year.

message 1563: by Tracey-J (new)

Tracey-J (traceyj28) | 1 comments Hi, I'm Tracey, I'm a book blogger from the UK! I've done reading challenges before but not this one, I'm excited to be taking part 🙂

message 1564: by Greta (new)

Greta Gedanke | 1 comments Hi, I am Greta from Germany and I am looking forward to participating in this challenge. I am trying to be more "creative" when it comes to finding new and old books to read because I seem to read the same things all over again (internal algorithm?!). Happy New Year and happy reading!

message 1565: by Kim (new)

Kim (kam79) | 1 comments Hi, I'm Kim from California. I love to read and am interested in finding new authors and exploring different genres of books that I might not normally choose. Can't wait to get started!

message 1566: by Laura Z (new)

Laura Z | 382 comments Hi, I'm Laura from St. Louis. I read a little bit of everything... sci fi/fantasy, romance, thriller, true crime, politics, memoirs. I retired from teaching high school math 7 years ago (at the age of 47) to care for my adult son who has severe autism. He's my best bud. :0) I'm looking forward to the challenge this year!

message 1567: by Donna (new)

Donna Martin (tinkerbella73) | 3 comments Hi Gang,
I'm Donna from PA. I am new to this challenge, in the past I have been working full time, a student, a mom to 4 ages 26-8. Since I graduated in May of 18 I have been reading up a storm...So excited to read human books instead of text books and writing papers LOL.

Looking forward to this challenge as I love to read all types of genres.

message 1568: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Sillitoe (cynthiasillitoe) | 6 comments Hi, I'm Cynthia from Ogden, Utah. A very dear friend (waving at Shauna if she's reading this) told me about this challenge and my first thought was no. I've never done a challenge before, I'm fussy about books, and I thought it would stress me out to try to find books I'd like that met the prompts. What sold me was the community aspect because I hoped that people will post lots of ideas, doing some of the research for me, and I'm delighted to see they are. I hope to find some new authors and genres I like. My cat, Gabby, has given me permission to participate as long as I read primarily from home. Oh, and I'm warning you in advance that I'll be one of the "how do I?" questioners when it comes to links and such. Hopefully, I will pick up some new tech skills, too. I've started reading my first book...

message 1569: by Michele Lynn (new)

Michele Lynn (whrobin) | 5 comments Hi my name is Michele I read a variety of genre, there are only a couple that are just not my taste. I have a weird system for deciding what my next book to read will be so I very rarely know what my next book will be until I pick it. (If I could only speed read). Last year I didn't get as much time to read as I would have liked and hope it will be better this year. I've also been rereading books in order to leave a proper review for them. I have my favorites but the list it much to long to mention. Hopefully I'll be able to share books and authors I've enjoyed with everyone here.

message 1570: by Jess (new)

Jess (splogy) | 1 comments Hi All, my name is Jess. I am a Canadian living in Ireland and I just found out about the challenge. I have a one year old and three year old but managed 54 books last year so hoping this will keep me going! Looking forward to my first reading challenge :)

message 1571: by shalini (new)

message 1574: by Steffani (new)

Steffani (caffeinewiccan) | 14 comments Hello everyone,
I'm new to the group but not new to Goodreads. I find the idea of looking for a specific book criteria fun and started an old reading challenge last year but didn't have the time to finish it. Here's to another try and a new year.

message 1575: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly Rahi (kimmierahi) | 2 comments Hello fellow Bibliophiles!

I am new to this group. I've completed book reading challenges in the past but never from Pop Sugar. I'm looking forward to it.

My fave genre is Historical Fiction and I hope to read 30 books this year.

message 1576: by Callie (new)

Callie | 4 comments Hi everyone! I'm Callie, 29 from Mississippi! I have never done a reading challenge, but it sounds like fun! Working on finishing grad school (MLIS aaand Instructional Tech), so we'll see if I can fit all these reads in. I'm excited to try!

message 1577: by Ashlie (new)

Ashlie Odom (araereads) | 14 comments Hi everyone! My name is Ashlie and I work at a Junior High School in Arkansas. I LOVE to read but find myself in book comas after particularly good reads and then I get in funks and read the same type of free trash on Kindle Unlimited, despite all of the amazing books I've picked up at conferences and etc. I have met my reading goals the past couple of years and can read about 5 books a month, but I am hoping that this year will be a great way to expand my reading.

message 1578: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 109 comments Hi! I'm Rachel, I'm 36 (today!) and I'm British but living in Italy. I'm doing the challenge with my mum and a group of friends from Britain, America and Italy. None of us have ever done something like this before: we're looking forward to discovering new books, and making more time for reading in 2019. Good luck with the challenge!

message 1579: by Alejandra (new)

Alejandra (alex_xita) Hi! Mi name is Alex, I'm a SAHM with two kids, 6 and 2 yo. This will be my first year attempting the challenge, I used to read a lot in college but my kids just take up all my energy and I have neglected my books.

That is why I want to do this challenge, to keep me otivated to find time and peace to read.

message 1580: by Amy (new)

Amy | 4 comments Hello!
I’m thrilled about this challenge! Each year, I would set the goal to read five books a month. It was never a problem because I spent a lot of time commuting. As of now, I no longer commute. This challenge will help me keep up with my reading while allowing me to change up my annual goals by following prompts that invite me to read things I may not normally consider. Happy reading!

message 1581: by Patti (new)

Patti (ladypatricia) | 1 comments Hi, I'm Patti from Cleveland, Ohio. My SIL has been participating in the PopSugar Challenge. I have gotten into a bit of a rut with my reading, so I am hoping this challenge may help expand my reading universe.

message 1582: by Jenny (new)

Jenny Hello everyone!
I'm Jen and I'm checking in from Florida. I teach 9th grade English and, as such, I find myself reading a ton of teen fiction and Young Adult. I want to branch out and rediscover my love for the written word! I'm looking forward to reading with you all throughout the year!
Happy 2019!

Tamara (chronicbookaholic) Hey everyone! I'm Tamara from Sydney, Australia.

Quite excited to start this challenge! I hope to expand from what I usually tend to read :)

Kristin | 16 comments Hi! My name is Kristin. I'm 31 and a mother of two. I am originally from Michigan, but I currently reside in PA. I'm kind of a stay at home mother, but I do about 3 hours of legal transcription a day as a "side job." I got back into reading in 2015 to try to retain a sense of self, and I usually read about ten books a year. Going for 24 this year, and this challenge will hopefully keep me motivated! I usually read fiction, and I'm hoping to foray into new genres.

message 1592: by Tera (new)

Tera Leigh (teraleigh) | 1 comments I’m Tera! Artist & Great Dane Addict! I try to read about 200 books a year, so I think the challenge will help me spread my wings a little bit in terms of genres I read.

message 1595: by Cindy (new)

Cindy (shanonamommy) | 1 comments Hi! I'm Cindy. I live in Eastern Washington state with my husband and children. I didn't even know this challenge existed until someone mentioned it in one my FB groups. Once I saw it, though, I had to join. I need to branch out from my normal fantasy and/or romance and this seemed like a good way to do it. I've also always wanted to join a reading group, but I've never been able to find one that seemed to be a good fit. This group, that talks about multiple books at once, seems perfect.

message 1596: by Heather (new)

Heather Smith Hey there, I'm Heather! I'm in Chapel Hill, NC. I did the 2018 popsugar challenge and just loved it. It really expanded the genres I normally like to read. Starting again in 2019!

message 1597: by Karen (new)

Karen | 161 comments Hi folks! I’m Karen from Wisconsin. I’ve had trouble the last few years getting into reading which is very unlike me. I’m hoping to spice up my reading by creating more spice!

message 1598: by Shawna (new)

Shawna Standiford | 4 comments Hi! I'm Shawna from Oklahoma. I've really struggled with finding my grove and getting motivated to read books the way I did pre-undergrad and graduate. Think I got burnt out on all of the academic reading but am determined to get back into it. I've never done a reading challenge or bothered to track the books I read so I'm excited to try something new this year!

message 1599: by Veronica (new)

Veronica LaChapelle | 1 comments Hi I'm Veronica but everyone calls me Ronnie. This is my first group challenge and I'm super excited to get started. I love to read all kinds of books (steamy romance not so much) and can't wait to see what the suggestions get me reading.

message 1600: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (strawberrilori) | 1 comments I'm Sarah. Excited to get into this challenge and get back to enjoying and reading more often like I did as a kid. We'll see how it goes after the first month, but it can't hurt how many books I read in a year.
