Yep 1 a week :)
but I figure several of the prompts could be filled by rather easy books which should balance out the more time consuming ones.

ohh Please post what your reading. my 2 oldest girls are in 3rd and 5th grade and are trying to do this challenge. some of the prompts are really hard to fill at that reading level.

About to finish Brown Girl Dreaming by Jacqueline Woodson . It's a beautiful memoir told in verse. It fits female author, nonfiction, memoir, finish in a day (but I haven't), color in the title, makes you cry. I'm not sure which prompt I'm using it for yet, but I highly recommend it.
I read Flora and Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures last year and loved it. Great for both ages and could fit in lots of categories.

Thanks for taking me into the group and I look forward to this. I am now going to sit in front of my to-be-read books and see what fits where, so I know what gaps to fill.

I'm Devin from Maryland. Even though I was an English lit minor, college pretty much killed my love for reading so I haven't picked up a book for fun since my freshman year. But now that I've graduated, have a professional job, and no plans to go to grad school for at least a year, I thought that Popsugar's challenge was an excellent way to rediscover my love for books! Or at least try to anyway. We'll see if I can get through 50+ books without feeling the need to annotate, analyze, and write a paper or three ;)
Best of luck to everyone!

This is the first time I've joined in a goodreads group, and a challenge set by someone else.
I'm addicted to reading and read everything, but need to read more classics.
I heard about the challenge on the YOU-app and did a Google search.
I have 2 sons and a wonderful husband, and work full-time; we all live in Melbourne Australia. But insomnia gives me plenty of time to read.
Really looking forward to the challenge.

Mindy, I made a Goodreads list for these books, since I have the Goodreads app on my phone. I'm thinking about adding a second list so I can differentiate between the TBR books and the finished books.

Pinterest is such a great way to keep track of books! You should post the link to your board when you get a chance :)

It's my first reading challenge and I hope this group is helpful! :D

I look forward to reading with you all!

I buy a ton of books, too, that I don't always get around to reading them all! As a teacher do you get to choose what books are in your cirriculum or does that get set elsewhere? What books are you teaching this year? Glad to have you!

Welcome! This is a group of very supportive people so don't worry about anyone judging your English! I'm from the USA but my grammar and spelling can be terrible at times. As long as you are a book lover thats all that matters here. Glad to have you!

I am lucky enough to work in a district where we get to make decisions by campus which books we will buy for the department. Then individual teachers choose from those books. We have read The Giver. We will also be reading The Hobbit, an adapted version of Twelfth Night, and hopefully No More Dead Dogs (one of my favorites).
I have a (much!) larger than normal classroom library. It is so important for kids to have choices in their independent reading. I try to expose them to as much as possible. Plus I just love books. Win/win. I also get distracted by the newest, shiniest cover and have a hard time committing. ;)

My book collection has gradually been growing throughout the past few years, so for this challenge I will definitely be reading the unread books that are currently on my shelves. For some of the other challenges I already have a few books in mind, but other that that I will be looking around here for inspiration. My reading taste is already quite diverse. I'll pretty much read anything if it's properly written and there's a good storyline. Some of the best books that I have read are the ones that used to be outside my "comfort" zone.
I look forward to sharing this reading experience with all of you and maybe make some new book-friends. So feel free to add me as a friend or recommend some books that I absolutely have to read.
Happy reading!
Sabrina

Do books finished in 2015 but started in 2014 count towards the challenge or only books started and finished in '15?

Cheers!

I think most people are including any book finished in 2015 towards the goal. The challenge is meant to be fun and can be tweaked to your individual tastes. So if you want them to count, then yes they do! :) Welcome, we are glad to have you!
Hi! I'm Nadine, I'm 47 years old and living in NY state, up north of Syracuse. I love reading and I love the extra sense of accomplishment I get by fulfilling a challenge, but I never found a challenge that really worked for me, because I'm stubborn and don't want to read a book someone else told me to read. Silly! I know! This challenge is fantastic! It's doable (I can read 52 books!), challenging (some of these will be a real challenge!), a fun puzzle to figure out books for some of the topics, AND (really, the best part for me) this will push me to expand what I read. The last two years I went on a YA dystopia binge. It was fun and I enjoyed a lot of the books, but I'm ready for something else now. This challenge will be just the impetus I need to get out of this rut I created for myself, and freshen up my reading list.

I welcome any and all suggestions! With the list above, it seems like I'm in a contemporary mood, but I think I'm ready for a good true crime book or crime thriller. Any suggestions?

I've tweaked (or in a couple of cases, completely changed) some of the prompts to fit more with what I want to read this year, because while I do want to get out of my comfort zone I also want to read stuff I think I'm going to enjoy, you know? I'm aiming to read more poetry this year, for example, so I've changed "a play" to "a poetry collection". And for the first half of the year I'm also doing an A-Z challenge (it was really hard trying to come up with books that fit some of the letters and a prompt, but I've done it!

Wow! You're extremely ambitious. Good luck!

My name is Jacqui and I'm from The-Middle-of-Nowhere, Pennsylvania. I saw this challenge and thought the checklist aspect was cool. I'm also looking to make some "bookworm" friends on Goodreads.

I'm Rose and I'm twenty-one. I am a Law Student who will move to South-Africa for five months in three weeks!
I doubted to start with this challenge but I really wanted too, so I hope that I can pack a few extra books or find a library in Cape Town.
I live in a boring town in The Netherlands so the book set in my Hometown is going to be difficult but maybe I can try it when I live somewhere else.
I just hope to get a lot of inspiration here and insides on great books!

The hometown book was a challenge, but you can pick one from near your home town and I was lucky to find a book set in a small town right next to mine! Good luck and have fun!

By the way I love reading through everyone's lists and the discussions. They have really helped with suggestions for the prompts that I do not have a book for yet.

I live in WV.

Hope to fill the challenge with books from my TBR.
But some might be harder so I hope to get some ideas for those here.

I usually read like I breathe, but the categories for this contest stray away from my normal reads so this should be interesting. :)
Good luck to everyone!

I'm 12 books in and still obsessed.
Background: I'm 44, a working mom of two young children. I've always been a big reader but 52 books is a lot for me. So I've decided to give up housework in the pursuit (hahaha!).

I like you're idea! Reading is way more important than housework! :) Welcome to the group we are happy to have you!
