Welcome members! Introductions...

My biggest challenge is finding the time to read, especially since I'm also obsessed with TV shows and follow an average of 10 at a time 😳🙈

My goal this year is to read 100 books, but as I am already at 60 books so far, I will surely exceed my goal. My average is 130 books a year. I gave up watching tv 5 years ago (couldn’t find anything worthwhile to watch) to feed my book addiction. If I am not reading, I crochet, embroidery, sew, teach myself to knit, exercise, or cook. My husband is also a reader, and there is nothing more enjoyable than snuggling with my best friend and each reading a good book! Thanks for letting me be a part of this wonderful group!

I’m Michelle from the UK. I was an avid reader as a child but not so much recently. Got lots of unread books on my bookshelf that need reading. I’m currently studying nutrition so need inspiration that isn’t science non-fiction.

I mostly read audiobooks, took down 120 books last year, hoping to up that this year with the addition of using the library app. I've been working on the Girlmore Girls reading list since 2012 and am also doing the alphabet reading challenge (titles start from A-Z).

My name is Sylvia, I have a 26 yr old son, been sick off and on with cancer just got my job back with promotion, I have a snake and fish and Stephen King is my fave. I’m having a hard time navigating through Goodreads but I’m figuring it out.

I'll be ticking off some prompts for the books I've read so far this year- Local Girl Missing, I See You, Post Mortem, The Underground Railroad and (just finished), The Girls. I know The Girls will fit the "book set in the decade I was born" prompt, so I'm one down already! Just about to start "I'm Travelling Alone" which will tick off "Nordic Noir" too.
Looking forward to the challenge!

Hello
I picked up Six of Crows then put it down. Please let me know how you good or bad you found it
Melissa

Oh no that is fine. Thank you

I'm determined not to shirk, so I'm not going back to the start of the calendar year. Instead, I'm going to limit myself to books that I've read only since I first learned about this challenge at the start of May. However, I've already read three books this month that fit (including one specifically for this challenge, Hallowe'en Party by Agatha Christie).

I came across this challenge via popsugar while deciding on my next read. It looks like fun. Somehow, I have accumulated over 1000 books on my to read list and feel like I spend more time scrolling to find my next book than actually reading.
I love Horror, Suspense, Mystery, and Fantasy most, but will read almost anything from Classics to Sci-Fi.

Like some of the other members just posting, I started the popsugar challenge back in January but have just decided to join the group.
I'm really looking forward to hearing about what everyone is reading and hopefully I will be able to find some new books too!

Hi Ryan, a fellow Brisbane person! We are pretty outnumbered .

I’m joining late, but am super excited to have discovered this challenge. I’m from Orange County, CA. I’ve not read as much since graduating uni (4 years ago). Therefore I think this challenge will help me get back on literary track.
In the last four years I’ve begun reading contemporary & recently YA. Prior I only read classics. This challenge seems like a great way to fit in all the YA/contemporary books I plan on reading :)

*waves* we're neighbros!

I'm Katy, i'm from Atlanta. I'm a little bit of a ways into the challenge and chugging along :)

Got two little girls, so my time to read is limited, and my time to write about reading even more so. First year doing this challenge!
Hi everone. I just joined this challenge as well. I'm trying to use the challenge as a way to use books I have that I've been meaning to read, and are on my TBR! So far, I've already been able to check off a few from what I've read this year. We'll see how I do.

I mainly read novels - historical, crime, fantasy, steampunk ... I especially appreciate books with strong female characters.
No particular reading goal this year, I juste take the challenge as a way to discover new books.
If you have any questions or would like to talk about anything, please do not hesitate :)

I am 48 and I am a planner girl into. A lot of crafts. I love books...

I like to know what people are reading, read reviews, discover the new or classic must-reads and just have a good time here.
My favorite books are mysteries and thrillers, but I really just read anything that I hear people talk about. And that is exactly why I'd like to meet some new people here, to learn about new books that I have yet to discover!
I can't wait to hear from you and discover your interests in books!

We're in Michigan and both of us read just about anything. We each have varied interests so this challenge helps us pick what to read next :) I'm a compulsive book-buyer that reads in any format I can get my hands on so this challenge really helps me get into my to-be-read mountain. I'm always open to recommendations, and this is definitely the place to find lots!

My name is Beckie, I'm 26, Nova Scotian, and a junior/senior high English teacher. After getting into classrooms, and allotting time for silent reading, and participating in book talks with my students, I realized how out of habit reading 'for fun' had become. Unfortunately, through the seven years of university, I hadn't prioritized reading for fun, because I was so heavily weighed down by course readings. If I had time for extra reading, I couldn't justify reading out extracurricular books. As it was, I seldom finished the course material.
So, I have vowed to read for the fifty prompts this year. I'm reading some classics, various YA, and a lot of fantasy/science fiction. I also have two friends participating in the challenge as well, but they aren't on Goodreads yet. Three months in I have completed fifteen of the prompts. They are as follows:
1) A book that involves a bookstore or library: The Rules of Magic - Alice Hoffman
2) A book you meant to read in 2017 but didn't get to: Fahrenheit 451 - Ray Bradbury
3) A book with alliteration in the title: Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austin
4) A book with an LGBTQ+ protagonist: George - Alex Gino
5) A book made into a movie you've already seen: If I stay - Gayle Forman
6) A childhood classic: Peter Pan - J.M. Barrie
7) A book with characters who are twins (amended to triplets among my friends) : Three Dark Crowns - Kendare Blake
8) A book set in a country which fascinates you: Hollow City - Ransom Riggs
9) A past Goodreads Choice Award winner: Talking As Fast As I Can - Lauren Graham
10) The next book in a series you've started: Where She Went - Gayle Forman
11) A novel based on a real person: The Taliban Shuffle (AKA Whiskey Tango Foxtrot) - Kim Barker
12) A book with a female author who used/s a male pseudonym: Little Women - Louisa May Alcott (Pen Name: A.M. Barnard)
13) Your favourite prompt from the 2015-2017 POPSUGAR Reading Challenges: Prompt: *A book you haven't read since high school:* The Great Gatsby - F. Scott Fitzgerald
14) A book about mental health: Eat, Pray, Love - Elizabeth Gilbert
15) A book about death or grief: The Book Thief - Markus Zusak
