Mirel | 171 comments Mirel, from Jerusalem, here (yes, that Jerusalem, capital of Israel and once again in the news). Did the challenge last year, and finished it in July. Now ready to start again.

Love to read and like the chance to turn it into a game and broaden my horizons.

Emmanuel Ramses | 6 comments Hi

My name is Emmmanuel Ramses, Im from Guadalajara, Mexico and recently turned 32.

Im a middle school teacher and I considerer myself a person with a "book eating" problem, old-school gamer, TV series addict and newly obsessed traveler.

The reason why I joined this group is because I wanted to read a book per week this 2018, and I though doing it in a fun way, so after I established my goal in the reading challenge of goodreads I found the popsugar page on google, read the post about the challenge and decided to do it, so im happy to be here with you guys, hope to meet you in the process

Laura Sullivan | 19 comments Hello! I am Laura, I am from the US. But I currently live in Korea and teach English at an all boys high school. I found this challenge on another website and it will be my first year doing it! Excited to get out of a genre slump :)

message 1004: by Ursula (new)

Ursula (saintursula) | 5 comments Hi everyone, I'm Ursula and I live in Fresno, California. I just moved here in June of 2017 - I have lived in a lot of places in my life, including 6 different ones in multiple countries between 2013 and 2017. I'm originally from the Monterey Bay area, and have spent a good chunk of my life in the Silicon Valley. I am married to a mathematician and have 2 grown children who are working on their own academic journeys in different states.

I always love the idea of challenges, and start off enthusiastically, but tend not to be a strong finisher. I have an ongoing challenge to read from the Boxall's 1001 books list, and last year was a disappointing one even on that front so I'm hoping to use some of those here as well.

message 1005: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Hello! My name is Andrea and I live in Arkansas. Last year, I completed my first challenge in awhile. I'd been going through a bit of a book slump, so last year was a success. It was for me at the very least, even though I do know it was a small number if I were to compare it to others. This year, I've kept the number game the same, but I'm hoping to add a challenge to my goal. If I achieve this challenge, I will surpass my number. I'm excited!

message 1006: by Claudia (new)

Claudia (claudiajill) Hi everybody! I'm Claudia and live near Wichita, KS. My favorite genre is historical fiction but with 3 book clubs, I am gradually expanding my horizon. I have always been a reader but my career as a Title I reading teacher and then a director of a small town library gave me very little time to read what I wanted. Being retired gives me more time for reading and my other passions, knitting and gardening. I always set goals that are too high but do enjoy a challenge!

message 1007: by Nancy (new)

Nancy | 1 comments Hello! I'm Nancy, 25 years old from New York City. I've been at a lost for books to read since I stopped reading for a while and am hoping that this challenge can help me get back into finding authors and series that I'll love.

message 1011: by Dolly (new)

Dolly A (mooreapples81) | 7 comments Hello everyone, I’m Dolly from Baltimore (MD). It’s been a while since I’ve done any serious reading so I wanted to participate in this challenge to get a jump start into reading again.

message 1013: by Lova (new)

Lova (lovamoreno) | 1 comments Hi! I’m Lova. This is my first year doing reading challenges. I’m 42 (yikes!) years old. I’m a kindergarten French Immersion teacher during the day and am a mom of 5- ages 20 down to 4 months, well 24/7. I’m joining the challenge to try to force myself to find some “me” time so I can get back to my love of reading once again. I only finished a sad 7 books in 2017 and meanwhile my tbr pile is growing nonstop.

message 1014: by Nikki (new)

Nikki | 3 comments Hi everyone, I'm Nikki from Sydney, Australia. I've done this challenge since 2015 but this year I thought it would be fun to join the group! I read a lot of books every year (300+) so this challenge is a great way to make sure I don't just read the same old thing all the time.

Really looking forward to seeing what everyone is reading.

Still, i am hopeful for this year and excited to expand my reading to other genres. My favourites are young adult and fantasy, but i am willing that increase! Happy reading!

message 1019: by Cathy (new)

Cathy Hey everyone!

I'm Cathy and I'm from Belgium. I went along with the first challenge back in 2015 (but then didn't join this group, apparently) and felt like following it for another year, so here's to a lot of good reading in 2018! :)

message 1021: by Juliana (new)

Juliana | 1 comments hello! I'm juliana, 32, industrial designer, from são Paulo, brazil. I've Always used popsugar challenge more lika e reference to get ideas on what to try to read, but never quite followed it. Now I think it's the time to start seriously and get back to my old habits of Reading! I've got this terribly habit nowadays of starting a dozen books at the same time, I expect to correct this also.

message 1022: by Bert (new)

Bert (beckybug3) | 20 comments Hello. I am Rebecca. I'm from Augusta, GA and work payroll for a State Institution. I am a voracious reader who usually has 4 - 5 books going at a time. When I discovered this challenge, it just seemed a natural fit.

message 1023: by Emily (new)

Emily Dixon | 28 comments Hey everybody, really excited to start this challenge! It's myf irst year doing it, I'm 21 in Oxford, England. I've never done any kind of reading challenge before but I think I'm going to really get into it.

I've only just started using Goodreads and don't really have any friends/follow any people - if anyone would like to add me or would like me to follow them I think Goodreads will be a lot more fun once I have some more people to follow!

message 1024: by Melanie (new)

Melanie McKay (mgmcgee) | 41 comments I'm a high school special education teacher in Kansas. Every Monday in our 30 minute seminar class, the whole school reads silently. I started the school year by reading books from my classroom library but would like to broaden my horizons and read some books that aren't in the Young Adult genre occasionally. The challenge looks like a fun way to motivate myself to try new books.

message 1025: by Mafer (new)

message 1028: by Patricia (new)

Patricia (patlewistx) | 1 comments Hi, I'm Patricia and I joined this group to get out of my reading rut. I feel like I have brain freeze but I still keep sipping at the light stuff. Time to return to the golden days of yesteryear and opt into at least something with more meat. I live in Texas, was born and raised in Indiana. I'm retired and read a lot! Looking forward to getting some guidance when choosing books outside my comfort zone. I'm excited to tackle some for fun and for challenge. Glad to be here.

message 1029: by Crystal (new)

Crystal Steele | 1 comments Hello! My name is Crystal. I live in Maryland. I've done the Goodreads challenge every year for the last few years, but this is my first time with this challenge. Sounds like a great way to discover some books I may not attempt otherwise. I have a 3-4 hour daily commute to work and use audiobooks to keep me sane but read the old fashioned way as well. Can't wait to get started here!

message 1030: by Miriam (new)

Miriam | 3 comments Hi! I am Miri. I live in Brooklyn and am so pumped for this! I read 19 books in 2017, so 40 is a bit of a stretch for me, but I'm looking forward to the challenge.

message 1031: by Gwen (new)

Gwen Hi! I'm Gwen. I've got a 9yo anti-reader, and I'm trying to get him to read more. I read a bunch of the beginning of last year, and then things tapered off. I'd like to be a more consistent reader this year. It's my hope that my anti-reader and I can help each other to be better readers. This challenge should work for both of us!
