message 55: by Lawzdot (new)

Lawzdot | 5 comments Hi, I am Laura, from Yorkshire, UK. I love the idea of this challenge as I always struggle to decide what to read next. I think I will work my way through the list in the order given on challenge prompt. Not sure I will manage all 52 as I work full time and have two small children (so usually only find around 40 minutes each day to read), but I will enjoy trying.

message 56: by Ginny (new)

Ginny (ginnymonkey) | 3 comments Hi, I'm Ginny - 26yo mother of two, wife & academic. in 2015 I'm not aiming fora number, but to only read the unread books I already own! This is quite a challenge for me but I'm sure my bank account will be grateful. I've decided to do this challenge too, which probably means either getting new books or skipping a few prompts!

Daneil Newcomb | 33 comments Hey folks!

I'm Daneil, I'm from Seattle, WA, and I'm currently 100 pages shy of having read 50 books in a year for the first time! Since I've already shown I can read the volume of books necessary to complete a basic 50 book challenge, I decided to do the ultimate challenge to diversify my reading. I plan on reviewing every book I read for this challenge and tagging them under ultimate-reading-challenge-2015.

Best of luck to everyone. 52 wonderful books, here I come!

message 59: by cvtherin (new)

cvtherin | 61 comments Hey! I'm Cat and I'm living in Oklahoma (from California). I love lots of YA, with Steampunk, Dystopia, and Fantasy thrown in for good measure.

I'm doing this challenge to get out of my comfort zone and also to weed out my "haven't read" books collecting dust on my shelves.

I posted a list of what i decided so far on my blog (of course it's subject to change) http://tarsdi.tumblr.com/2015rc

Lucas | 9 comments hi ^^ I'm Lucas and I have a book buying problem. ;P
Which is why I am clinging onto any excuse I can have to read more books - preferably without buying too many new ones.

I'm from Germany and I can't shake the feeling that my lack of grammar is sort of giving that away. But we will see how it goes. I am very much looking forward to discovering new books. ^^

Your grammar is fine.

message 90: by Nada (new)

Nada (njmom3) | 13 comments Hi Everyone. I'm Nada. I live in New Jersey in the US. I blog at www.memoriesfrombooks.com. A friend introduced me to this challenge. What a fun way to explore new books this year.

message 91: by Donnajo (new)

Donnajo I promised myself I wouldn't try for too many challenges this year. but this one sounded so good. I knew about the challenge for awhile but forgot until the one bookstore I go to posted it on facebook. so I checked out the site and saw you had a grp here for it. Since I've been on goodreads for more than a few years probably I decided to join in here. I figured it's a good way to read other books I normally wouldn't plus I think alot of the prompts I would have no problem with filling in books I would normally read.
I live in New Jersey. Love to read. which I usually do from books I own, and ereaders (nooks) plus the ipad mini. I was a big bookbuyingaholic before my nook days plus every once in awhile I still buy one or more. In 2014 I was 4 short from my goal of 200 books finished (my bookshelf on grs isn't uptodate need to do that soon).
I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and to talk books.

message 92: by rowan (new)

rowan (rowan25a) Hi, everyone. My name is Aimee, 41, from Louisiana. A friend brought this challenge to my attention and I decided to give it a go. I mainly read fantasy, some light sci fi, and nonfiction. I'm using this challenge as an opportunity to read other genres, to read books I haven't read before, and to clear out my enormous to-read box. I've never done one of these type of challenges before and I've never been part of a Good Reads group before. I lean non-chatty/lurker type, so don't be surprised if you don't hear from me often. :-)

Katherine (kiik) | 158 comments Hello, everyone! My name is Katherine. I'm from Gainesville, FL, but currently hail from Seattle, WA. I'm a graduate student working on my Master's in Counseling Psychology (which will be noticeable in some of my chosen books). I found this list on Tumblr and was excited to find it here when I searched for lists on Goodreads. I'm hoping my stubborn spirit won't allow me to turn this into a chore, and that I'll have plenty of grace for myself to not finish the challenge if life takes over. Ultimately, I would love for this challenge to encourage me to try new things outside of my usual young-adult, fantasy, dystopian escape from reality. Happy reading!

LaToya Donnellan (latoya_donnellan) | 4 comments Hi, I'm LaToya. A 30yr old Secondary English teacher from Melbourne, Australia. I stumbled across this group in an Instagram post. I've started a book club at school and like to challenge myself and my students to read more, in a variety of genres.

message 95: by Melanie (new)

message 96: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (ash_marie87) | 2 comments Hi! I'm Ashley, I'm 27 and live in Illinois. I'm doing this challenge because it seems fun & I'd be intersted to see how diverse the books I already plan to read are, as well as diversify a little more!

message 97: by Jules (new)

Jules Lewis (jules_lewis) | 30 comments Hi folks,
I'm Jules from Cornwall, England -- have just heard about this challenge from my friends on Facebook. Have already 'ticked' the mystery/thriller book with Anthony Horowitz's 'Moriarty'. What are people's thoughts about ticking more than one item with a single book? For example -- 'Fahrenheit 451' = numer in title, and banned book...
Enjoy the challenge!
Jules

message 98: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 8 comments The general consensus seems to be one book per prompt.

message 99: by Jules (new)

Jules Lewis (jules_lewis) | 30 comments That's a busy year of reading then! 52 including the trilogy...

message 100: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (jcreamer) | 20 comments I'm Jennifer in Texas. I teach middle school reading, so several of my books will be middle grade or YA. I buy LOTS of books but don't always get around to reading/finishing them. I'm hoping this challenge helps me focus on completing books and broadening my reading horizons. The books I'm already reading fit multiple categories, so I will probably shuffle my list around as I go. Feeling motivated!
