Hello Everyone! I'm Kate from the UK. I've attempted the reading challenge for the last 3 years with varying degrees of success! For 2018 I'm looking forward to joining you all and seeing what different interpretations of the prompts everyone has.

I'm Lauren from Austin, TX. I read about 140 books a year (about half are audio versions) and thought this challenge could help me find some options for 2018 that I wouldn't have found otherwise. I love discussing good books, which is the main reason I signed up. I hope people will post recommendations that fit the categories here!
Hi, I am Lauren, a 25-year-old 2nd grade teacher from Nashville TN! Feel free to send me a friend request! I am looking forward to talking about books with yall.
Hi! I'm Catherine and I'm a mom of two boys. I work at home running my own online business, and read every spare chance I get. I'm from Northern Ontario (where it's quite chilly this week at -43C). This is my first time doing he popsugar challenge!
Holla. I'm Abigayle, a 22 year old living across the river from Louisville. This isn't the first Popsugar Challenge I've done but it will be the first one I complete. I've decided to be a tad ambitious and combine all of the Popsugar prompts together. Some of them are repeats so I nixed those. But ended up with about 100 prompts...over achiever much? *cackles* I hope over the next year to have a grand time in the group.
HI friends! I'm Tara from Temecula, CA and this is my first book challenge! my NY resolution was to read 12 books (I'm an English teacher and wasn't reading anything other than student work) and from May-December I read 24! So I'm hopeful that now that I'm making time, this challenge will be amazing!
Hmmmm let's try this again! (I accidentally hit "post" mid-comment before.)I'm Chloé. I'm a home birth midwife. I live in Maryland with my two dogs. And it's one of my New Year's resolutions to complete the POPSUGAR reading challenge. For years, I've been in intense student mode, so my reading has largely been textbooks. I haven't done much reading for fun for the past....well a really long time. I have been enjoying the Outlander series (pure escapist fluff), but I'd love some inspiration to branch out into different genres and authors. I'm excited for this challenge! I hope it helps me get my reading groove back.
(2018 - How Chloé got her reading groove back 😉 )
Hi! Catherine here from Stouffville, Ontario, Canada. 40-year-old mom of one tween girl and a library technician in information and teen services. I gravitate towards speculative fiction, but I will read anything, really! This challenge looks great because it will be a challenge tracking down books that fit each category. Can't wait to see everyone's creativity at work!
Hi Everyone! I'm 38 year old Crissy from Sunny San Diego! I've been a lover of books since elementary school and each year have the goal to read more in between the craziness that is life with a full time job in health care, a diabetic chihuahua, a 75 year old diabetic father, and a boyfriend that somehow puts up with (and sometimes adds to) all the craziness! This challenge sounds fun and I look forward to escaping into new adventures!
Wow. That's 3 "Catherine's" in the last 8 posts and we all spell our name the same. I don't meet other Catherine's often let alone in this quantity! 😂
I'm Teresa. I'm 57 yrs old and from Fairborn Ohio. I love reading all types of books. I mostly read mystery/thrillers and literary fiction. I've always casually used the Popsugar prompts when I need a new read, but this year decided to actually try to complete the challenge.
I'm Morgan. There's probably another intro post from me back around this time last year. I fell down hard on the 2017 challenge (I was reading, but ended up sticking in my comfort zone and not going for challenge topics). So here I am again, ready to try again. I'm in Baltimore City, Maryland.
Hi, I'm Kate. I'm a 33 year old married mom of 2 young boys (ages 6 and 3) living in Upstate New York. I also teach 6th grade. Between my family and my job, I struggle to make time for myself, so I'm hoping joining this challenge will help me find more time for my favorite hobby, reading. I've done the Pop Sugar Challenges for several years now, mainly tracking them in my planner, so the goodreads piece of this is new for me.
Hi, I'm Tia Jah, a librarian living in Indianapolis, but my heart is back in the Pacific Northwest, where I grew up and attended college/grad school. Mountains beat corn fields any day, imho. This challenge will move me out of my comfort zone and is the first of this type I've tried. Keeping my fingers crossed!
Hi I'm Kate from West Yorkshire, UK. TV just bores me and I used to love to read so wanted a way of getting back into the habit. With a full-time job and 2 kids (3 & 13) going to be tough but I'm up for the challenge. Looking forward to being part of a community too 😊
Hello, I am Kat from Germany. My library here is still a sad sight though I joined goodreads in 2014. That's because I am usually using a German book community, but I came across this challenge by chance and it just sounded too good to resist. Looking forward to spending this reading-year with your lot! Enjoy!
Hello, I am Terri from Los Angeles, California. I look forward to the 2018 reading challenge and meeting everyone. :.))I used to work full time but now I am a stay at home mom and wife. About me: I have many different hobbies and too little time! My favorite thing to do, after a busy long day, is to read in my bed with a cup of cocoa or a glass of wine. I also love to craft, garden and go to flea markets.
Hi everyone! I’m Kari, a 25 year old city girl from Chicago. It’s my first year doing this reading challenge and I’m really excited to expand my selection of books! Let’s get it 2018!
Hello all! This is my second year participating in the popsugar challenge. I didn't complete 2017's list. I was four books away, but unfortunately my mother passed away this month and I just didn't have it in me to finish. I'm hoping that this year will be a success. The prompts look extra exciting and out of my comfort zone, which is what I was looking for.
Good luck everyone.
Hi I'm Diana from Long Beach CA. My daughter and I are going to try this book challenge. Have never done one before. We are looking forward to finding time to read and the challenge!!
Hey Everyone.I'm Arya from India. I am really excited to find people as much as interested in books as me. Looking forward to see you all in 2018 and read amazing books together.
Catherine wrote: "Wow. That's 3 "Catherine's" in the last 8 posts and we all spell our name the same. I don't meet other Catherine's often let alone in this quantity! 😂"lol Make that 4. I spell mine Catharine just to be different! but chose Kate for my name on here.
Hi! I'm Mary a stay at home who is looking forward to reading again, it used to be a favorite past time of mine and somewhere along the way I just stopped. I think I hit a genre rut so I'm looking forward to this challenge hopefully spicing things up for and to meet some new friends :-)
Hi,I'm Mary Ellen from New Jersey. I love the idea of this challenge, and hope it will get me to read books I normally wouldn't. I'm a library director, but with three teenagers I don't have as much time to read as I'd like. Looking forward to this.
Hi,I'm Morgan and I'm from Arizona. This group was mentioned on the 2018 Popsugar reading challenge site that they posted. This is my first time trying to complete a reading challenge and I'm excited to see how I do.
Hi all! I'm Marleigh and I live in Newark, DE. I teach kindergarten, hang out with my puppy Scout and watch a lot of FoodNetwork, when I'm not reading. I am a big fan of historical fiction especially WWII-era. This is my first year doing the PopSugar reading challenge and I'm really excited. My goal is to check all 50 boxes by this time next year :)
Hi everyone,I'm Amy from West Virginia. I'm addicted to reading challenges, but this is my first time doing the Popsugar one. Can't wait to get started!
Hi! I'm Viviana from California. I love reading and this will be my first time joining this challenge. I'm excited to try different genres from what I'm used to. I paint and do lots of crafts on my spare time as well. Happy New 2018 to everyone!
Hi!I'm Laura and in from the Netherlands. I have been doing this reading challenge for some years already but I've never finished it yet so I thought that this group would be a good opportunity to give me the inspiration to do so next year:). I mostly read YA fiction but tend to have quite a large taste in the types of books I read. I'm excited to learn about new books through this group!:)
Hi, I'm Kathy. I live in Austin Texas and I am retired which you would think would give me plenty of free time to read, but I think I may be busier now than when I was employed! I'm looking forward to this challenge expanding my book choices. I hope to do all 50 prompts and hope to find a lot of them in the books chosen by the three book clubs I belong to and the books on my shelves...kind of a resolution to read books I own vs buying new ones!
Pandora wrote: "hi everyone, or i should say "bonjour" or "bonsoir" cause i'm french :)i can read in english way better than i can speak or write it, so please be kind and bear with me ;)

Bienvenue! :)
Hi everyone! I'm Kaitlyn from Hoboken, NJ. Before this year, I could count on one hand the amount of books I had read from start to finish. I set my 2017 goals at 12 books and exceeded that by reading 20. I'm excited, yet intimated, by this years challenge of 40 books. Looking forward to 2018 with all the new things and books it will bring. Happy reading to all!
Hello! I'm Penny from PA - Love mysteries, thrillers, YA, graphic novels, cookbooks. Looking forward to trying new genres and authors. (I'm originally from NC so a special 'Hi' to all the folks from there!)
Hi everyone,This is a first effort for me. I enjoy reading and have made an effort in 2017 to read more after a 3 year break from it to finish grad school. Since I am just starting out with this challenge, I will look forward to reading here about how others find books, what choices may work for my interests and still fulfill the prompts. I look forward to broadening my horizons in 2018.
Leslie
I highly suggest your public library for finding books. If you have a good reference librarian they can point you in the right direction for the prompts or for any other subject you'd like. It's called Reader's Advisory and most librarians are excellent at it! Good luck!
Hello, I love to read this is my first challenge hopefully I could figure it out as I go. I'm not too tech savvy. I enjoy many different types of books .
Hello everyone, I'm Angie from Laramie Wyoming. I love to read and to do reading challenges but I tend to do them on my own. This year my goal is to be active in the social parts of these groups and in sharing my progress and opinions with others!
Hello! My name is Grace. I'm from Houston. 2017 has been woefully pitiful on the amount of books I've read and I would like to change that. This group seems like a lovely place to start.
Hello! I'm Jacqueline, from Minneapolis, USA. I had a great time with the 2016 reading challenge & read a lot of books I wouldn't have otherwise thought to try. Skipped 2017 due to having a baby, but eager to get started with the 2018 challenge. I usually go for sci-fi/fantasy & mysteries. I enjoy non-fiction books once I pick them up, but usually don't. I think I'd like to try to fit in a Western this year, I don't think I've ever read one.
Hello, all! I'm Keren. I live and teach English in Texas (Austin Area). I have 3 children, so most of my reading is done via Audible these days because I can listen while doing chores and nursing babies. I managed to read/listen to 41 books in 2017, and I'm hoping this challenging, including the advanced list, will help me push that to 50! I'm looking forward to some of your book suggestions!
Hello everyone! I'm Rebekah and I'm a lifelong book lover from Indiana. I've accomplished reading goals based on a particular number of books read, but I thought that I might participate in this challenge in order to add more variety and another facet to the whole challenge thing! I want to concentrate on reading 20 books in the coming year, picked from this challenge. I hope to finish the challenge in its totality, but I know life happens :).I look forward to reading with all of you in the year to come!
hello all, first a little bit about me. I'm a 30yo stay at home dad of one beautiful little girl. so since I don't get out a lot I wanted to start reading more. I started doing the 2017 challenge about the start of July (when I found out about it through Habatica). Unfortunately I didn't finish and I didn't do it correctly (the Habatica list said you can use more than one topic for books). I did however read in total 33 (possibly 35 by the end of tomorrow) books this year. Which is more books than I've read in like the last 5 years (no exaggerating lol). I've got my plan for the 2018 challenge and I plan to read all 50 this coming year. Hope everyone has a good and happy New year and good luck to all in 2018.
Forgot to mention that I'm from Fort Wayne, IN, so we've been getting those frigid temps (Perfect for a nice cup of tea and a book)
Hi! I'm Ruby and I'm from Houston,TX. I found this reading challenge on Pinterest and although 50 books is too many (before college it wasn't) I'm hoping to at least read 25 of the 50 prompts. I typically read Young Adults books but I'm open to all genresI look forward to reading with all of you!
Hello everyone! My name is Amber, I am from Australia. I have been an avid reader all my life, but these days have patches where I don't read due to other commitments. I just managed to scrape in 40/40 for my personal 2017 Reading Challenge (phew). I was invited to this group by a lovely reader I met on Twitter, I'm looking forward to participating.
Hi all, I'm Emma from Palmerston North, New Zealand. I failed to complete the 2016 and 2017 challenges, but 2018 is going to be the year I make it!
Hi there. I am Megan. I'm a teacher in Oregon. I have not officially done the prior challenges, though I did most of the 2017 one. I'm not sure I can do 40 books, but I am going to try my best.
Hi everyone - I was once an avid reader but as life has taken it's course I find myself having less and less time for reading. I think I found out about this challenge at the right time - 2018 will be all about the reading :) I've made a list and picked a book for each prompt - it's a bit fluid though if something else comes along that fits the prompt and takes my fancy I might swap some books around. I thought the more prepared I was and the less I had to make on-the-spot decisions, the more inclined I would be to achieve. Am pleased to have found this group too as I've already picked up a few tips and ideas. So thanks you lot.Being that 2018 is about 3 and a half hours away in New Zealand, I'm looking forward to getting started really soon!
