message 801: by Erica (new)

Erica | 4 comments Hey guys! I'm Erica, I live in SW Florida. I LOVE to read and would gladly sit for hours ignoring real life in favor of becoming engrossed in a story life. Unfortunately that's not always possible with work, and kids and hubby that need to eat for some reason? This is my first reading challenge, 40 is going to be a stretch, I just made my goal of 12 this year! But I'm really excited to check off some of the books on my to-read list and explore different genres!

message 802: by Christine - (new)

Christine - LifeWithAllTheBooks Hi ! I’m Christine from Scotland - 2018 will be my first reading challenge. I’m trying a couple and came across this one. It looks like fun !

message 803: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Frayer | 1 comments Hi! I am Melissa from San Francisco. I'm a corporate lawyer who reads all day every day for work and really fell of the wagon on reading for fun. I want to do this challenge because I used to love reading and don't want my job to take that away from me.

Cheers! I'm also @melissagetsoutside on instagram if anyone else uses instagram!

message 804: by Robyn (new)

Robyn (rlsherstobitoff) | 2 comments Hi - I'm Robyn. I'm a water engineer who over-schedules her life and forgets to make time for herself. The challenge will hopefully help me remember that I don't constantly have to be doing something "productive" to be living my best life. :)

message 805: by Brenda (new)

Brenda | 1 comments Hello everyone!! I'm Brenda from NW Pennsylvania. I just recently found out about this challenge. It sounds like so much fun. I'm excited to give a go.

message 806: by Fiona (new)

Fiona (ari-ink) Hi, I'm Fiona! I'm a junior in college who tries to squeeze in as much reading time as I can. I usually do Popsugar challenges every year but this is my first time actually joining a group. I can't wait for the new year to begin and to start this challenge! Good luck to everyone!! :)

message 807: by Milena (new)

Milena (milenas) | 1198 comments Hi. I'm Milena from New York. This is my first time doing a reading challenge.

message 808: by Kira (new)

Kira (kirakawa) | 4 comments Hi there! I'm Kira from Denmark and this too is my first reading challenge! I wanted to join because I haven't really been reading so much this year and when I did it was mostly the same type of books again and again. This challenge will definitely motivate me to read more and more diverse and I'm suuuper excited for that!
Hopefully I'll read the 40, but I'm aiming more towards 30-ish.
Good luck to all of you! :)

message 809: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 1 comments Hi, I'm Jessica from Southern California. I love to read but have really been in a reading slump for.... probably years. This is my first challenge, and I'm hoping it helps give me some focus, rather than just waiting until I happen to come across something that strikes my fancy. Can't wait to start!

message 810: by Shreya (new)

Shreya (shreyap) Hi, I'm Shreya. I'm from Massachusetts and I'm a blogger whose plan is to use 2018 reading challenges to discover books outside of my comfort zones.

message 811: by Denise (new)

Denise Ekk (dennilaine_reads) | 16 comments Hello all! I'm Denise from Texas. I'm a social worker, wife and mother of one daughter. I've been reading almost non-stop since age 4 and love all genres. This will be my first reading challenge and I can't wait!

message 812: by Sabrina (new)

Sabrina | 4 comments Hi! I'm Sabrina from Alabama, currently in graduate school in Atlanta, GA! This is my first reading challenge, and I'm hoping to use it to rediscover books that have been on my TBR list for far too long!

message 813: by Gemma (new)

Gemma | 16 comments Hello, I'm Gemma and, along with my mum and younger sister, I have been an obsessed bookworm since a very young age. I recently discovered this reading challenge through a mutual friend on Goodreads and thought I would give it a try for the new year. In the past, I sometimes found finding the time to read quite difficult, due to studying, work and other commitments in my life. However, I still try to make sure I read everyday, as much as I can, and I think this challenge will help give me the extra push! So, as part of my 2018 Resolution... let the reading commence!

message 814: by Rhonda (new)

Rhonda Hi! I'm Rhonda. I heard about this challenge for the first time about halfway through 2017 and decided I would take part for 2018.

I'm very excited about all the prompts! I've discovered some of my favorite books through reading challenges.

message 815: by Denise (new)

Denise Lauron (dlauron) | 1 comments I'm Denise from California. I have 2 teenage daughters who keep me on my toes. I had a rough year last year, so I didn't quite meet my reading goal. I will be doing better this year. I want to use this challenge to guide me on my way to my annual goal of 62 books.

message 816: by Laura (new)

Laura Hi! I'm Laura, 57, from Midland, Texas. I am amazed at the variety of readers in this group - from all ages and all over the world. How fun. I usually read mysteries and popular fiction, so I am looking forward to expanding my literary horizons with this challenge and seeing what others do with the list.

message 817: by Theresa (new)

Theresa | 2 comments Hi! I'm Theresa from Singapore, but I'm sort of a vagabond at the moment. Books keep me company on long plane journeys! I love reading fantasy/sci-fi but have always been open to exploring new genres. I'm excited to read books that might not have been on my radar otherwise!

message 818: by Emma (new)

Emma Garcia (emmacathgarcia) Hi guys! I'm Emma and I'm a student at Sarah Lawrence in New York but I'm currently in California for Christmas break (no snow, yay!). I've always loved reading but it's been hard to find new books to read so I've been trying different reading challenges to expand my horizons. I did the Popsugar Challenge last year and I'm super excited to do it again.

message 819: by Zoe (new)

Zoe | 1 comments Morning all 😊 I'm Zoe from England, a self confessed bibliophile, coffee drinker, and cat lover! My goal for this challenge is to try and read the books that are currently piling up next to my book shelves! My goal is to buy no more than just one new book per month, and to fit what I currently own into the prompts 👍.
I'm going to plan month to month, as how much I read varies depending on my other plans. I'll be following the monthly challenge prompt, reading the book if I have it, or choosing another if I don't own or have already read it, and look forward to seeing what I can accomplish this year!
Big hugs, xxx

message 823: by Sarah (new)

Emily (emilynicole15) | 3 comments Hey everyone! I'm Emily, and I'm from Pennsylvania. I'm currently in my junior year of college, majoring in English/Professional Writing. I usually read YA, with some NA mixed in. I thought doing this challenge would be a great way to spice up my reading library.

message 834: by Kim (new)

Kim | 215 comments HI! I'm Kim, from So. Cal., and this is my 3rd year doing the challenge. I love how it works with books I already want to read, and often gets me to branch out into new genres. I mostly listen to audio books while knitting (I have monthly knitting challenges, too). I've got my PopSugar list on one of my reading groups on Ravelry (an online group for knitters and crocheters), and it will be fun to participate here, too!

message 835: by Kim (new)

Kim | 215 comments Mindy wrote: "Hi everyone! I'm Mindy and I'm a mom of two seven year old girls. I'm also in a big time reading rut and this challenge came along at just the right time. My library posted a link on Facebook and I..."

If you knit or crochet, keeping your list on a place like Ravelry is great. I can access my list by phone, and make my updates there. I've got my list in a post, and I can make notes of books I intend to read, etc., then put them in bold once I've read them. My friends keep their reading lists there, but I'm usually the only one doing this challenge.

message 836: by Steph (new)

Steph Hey guys I'm Steph and I'm from Scotland. I recently saw this challenge online and decided to give it a go, but I've had to shorten it a bit since I'm currently in university and my course requires I read books alongside my assigned lectures :)

message 838: by Alison (new)

Alison (alisoncobb) | 2 comments Greetings from York, SC. I'm hoping this reading challenge will help me vary my reading habits (I tend to get stuck in one genre). I'm also striving to reduce my TBD stack so I can finally get to some of the books I already own.

This is my first challenge and my first ever post on goodreads. I'm excited to get started and nervous about finding good books to fit each prompt. Let's go! ~Alison

message 839: by Kerry (last edited Dec 25, 2017 09:59AM) (new)

Kerry (euphemy) | 210 comments Hi everyone. I'm Kerry from the United States and this will be my first book challenge. I love to read but sometimes have difficulty finding the time. This challenge will help me read more and out of my usual genre. My favorite is historical fiction, non-fiction and fantasy. I have 1280 books on my kindle plus 50 hard/paperback books. I need to put a dent in them. LOL Looking forward to getting started!

message 840: by Kelli (new)

Becky Hughes | 1 comments Hi everyone,
I'm a retired school teacher in South Carolina. I am stuck in a rut of reading history and historical fiction. This challenge will help diversify my book list AND keep me from watching the news. I'm trying to figure out how to edit the list and post it. 2018-best year yet.

I'm looking forward to this!
