Anna | 2 comments Hello, I'm Anna from Germany.
I love to read all kinds of books, I tried the challenge on my own this year, but that wasn't much fun, so when I found this group, I decided to try again this year.

message 752: by Jim (new)

Jim Collett Hello, I'm Jim. I'm a semi-retired educator and historian. I enjoy reading across a broad range of topics from nonfiction to science fiction and many things in between. I have never read all the book on a challenge list but usually do reach my number of books to read in a year. I think this will be a fun activity. I look forward to learning about some great books I might not otherwise have discovered.

message 753: by Dawn (new)

Dawn Gerrity (dawngerrity) | 2 comments Hi, I'm Dawn. I love to read from a variety of genres (both fiction and non-fiction) and am looking forward to this challenge. I will say upfront that I may end up using 1 book for more than one category, but I will start the year off trying not to. Cheers!

Your English IS perfect :) Good luck on the challenge! This is my first try at a formal reading challenge, so it's nice to have a community to work through it with!

Danielle Rosen (daniellelrosen) | 1 comments Hello! I’m Danielle from Austin, TX. I’m a stay at home mom of two small kids, 3.5 year old son and a one year old daughter. Before kids I was a voracious reader, but I slowed dramatically and am now promising myself I’ll read more with the help of this challenge. I mostly read mystery/thrillers so I’m hoping to branch out.

SadieReadsAgain (sadiestartsagain) | 767 comments Hi there. I'm Sarah, an NHS worker and mum of three boys (15, 5 and 5 months), from west Scotland. Besides my kids, husband and dog, I share my home with a vast collection of books. Mainly adult contemporary and literary fiction, memoirs, food/feminist/social consciousness-y non-fic and a bit of dystopia fiction too. I have an addiction to bookshops and second hand book sales, so much so that for a few years now I've been under a self-inflicted ban from buying any more until I read the ones I have. Only 152 left to get through...

I took part in the 2017 challenge, but only found this group in April so it was more of a solo effort. This year it would be cool to be more involved and maybe even join in some group reads if my choices fit. I'm obviously going to try and read from my own stash first and foremost. If I don't have anything of my own which fits a prompt, I'll try the library. I'd like to avoid buying anything if at all possible!

My list is here -
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... I hope to get to know some of you through our mutual book/challenge obsession. Good luck guys!

This is so true, this year I did slog through some books I wasn't really in the mood for. It's more important to enjoy books but tick off less prompts, I think.

Welcome to GoodReads...it's my favourite place online. It makes me so excited about what to read next!

message 760: by Samara (new)

Samara Aguti | 1 comments Hi Everyone,

I am Samara Aguti, 33 years old and I live in Virginia. I hope my interactions with each of you will inspire me to accomplish my goal of reading at least 30 books in 2018. If I can read all 50 books or more with my busy work schedule, I will be overjoyed! I am glad to be part of this group and look forward to the challenge.

message 761: by Caitlin (new)

Caitlin (catielane) | 60 comments Hi Peoples!

I’m Caitlin, 24 years old, and I work in a used bookstore. I used to read all the time but since starting at the store my reading has gone downhill. Being surrounded by them all day, everyday has definitely affected the joy I used to get from opening a book. This challenge intrigued me when I came across it and I definitely think trying to fill all these prompts in just a year will help me get back to one of my favorite activities.

message 762: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 1 comments Hi I’m Leslie from Michigan, USA. Thought I’d try the 2018 challenge to expand my reading.

message 763: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Walker (ataraxena) Hello, all! I'm Jennifer; I'm 33 years old and from Oklahoma. I like the idea of a list for guidance and broadening my reading scope, but with enough flexibility to still choose books I think I'll love. I'm excited to get started!

message 764: by Tanathebookworm_ (new)

Tanathebookworm_ | 8 comments My name is Kristeena, 35 years old and an avid reader! I have two reading challenges the past two years but this is my first year doing the Popsugar challenge. I love that their is a group dedicated to this. I struggled through my challenge this year and I think having a group like this would have made it better. I also review books on my blog tanatime.com if anyone wants to check it out. Also I am always wanting ideas for each prompt so send them my way. I can't wait to read along with everyone!!

message 765: by Rashmi (new)

Rashmi (rareadsblog) | 1 comments Hello all. :D

My name is Rashmi, 21-year-old from India. Although I am an avid reader and hoarder of literature, I quite literally suck at sticking to completing challenges. I had thought of doing the PopSugar challenge this year but it was already August and hence, I am going to start afresh from January 2018. *fingers crossed*

message 766: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Wyche | 1 comments Hi everyone! My name is Michelle and I am from pine bush New York. I am 21 and have loved to read ever since I learned how to. I heard of this challenge in a book club on Facebook. I am excited for this challenge because I like to read and by doing this challenge I think I will be introduced to books I have never read before or never thought of reading. Can’t wait to start the challenge!

message 767: by Juliet (new)

Juliet | 17 comments Hi!
I'm Juliet, I'm a 27 girl from France. I used to read *a lot* and then life interfered, blah blah, but now I'm on the right track again and I've heard of this challenge, which hopefully will keep me on them.
I see it as a great way to both read what's been on my TBR list for too long and also discover books that I may have never glanced at otherwise. I also feel like reading can be improved as an experience when you share it with others and since I don't have anyone at home to do that with, I hope it'll be more fun here.
See you all in 2018 :)

message 768: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (lisag311) Hi all! I am Lisa, 27, and from New Hampshire (United States). I joined this group because I surprised myself with how much read last year and want to challenge myself to read MORE and a wide VARITY of books. I am so excited to embark on this journey!

message 769: by Genesis (new)

Genesis Williamson | 3 comments Hello! I am Genesis and I am from Maryland, USA. I've always been a big reader, but recently I've fallen off the wagon, so I'm doing this challenge to get back into it. This group is super cool and I'm excited to be a part of it!

message 770: by Jorja (new)

Jorja Rose | 2 comments Hi everyone! I'm a 16 year old girl called Jorja from Brisbane, Australia. This is my first year doing the challenge as I would like to push myself to read a wider range of books as I tend to stick to YA. I probably won't complete the challenge but hope to complete as many prompts as I can.

message 771: by Atiqah (new)

Atiqah (bookmarksbluelight) | 1 comments Hi all I'm loving the energy in this group. Shoutout to our moderator Ann - thanks for moderating 😆 !

I'm Atiqah from Perth in the land of Down Under. It's my first time entering PopSugar Reading Challenge, and it'll be my first year where my reading target will be 40! I'm keeping myself accountable using my blog.

Good luck to you all have a great year!

message 772: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi everyone, so glad I found this group and can share the madness. 2018 will be my third year doing this challenge. I did in 2015, skipped 2016 and have just read my last book for 2017. I'm from Glasgow in the UK

message 773: by Allie (new)

Allie (ab10) Hi everyone! First time doing a challenge like this.... I plan on starting my masters in teaching this year, so I might not get all 40 read, however I'm really doing this to challenge myself to read different types and styles of books.

Have fun everyone!

message 774: by Anastasia (new)

Anastasia | 4 comments Hello everyone! My name is Anastasia and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area (California). I'm a college counselor and, like everyone else probably, a voracious reader. I think reading challenges are a great way to read outside my comfort zone. I did the Better World Books challenge this year and can't wait to learn all about the Pop sugar challenge and see if I can complete it.

message 775: by Mjr (new)

message 776: by Shasta (new)

Shasta | 49 comments Hi, I'm Shasta, from Eugene, OR. Popsugar will be my first reading challenge and I'm also new to and loving Litsy (I'm tomes4gnomes). Over the last few years I've been sad to notice that I'm reading fewer books and wasting too much time on my phone/internet. I'm hoping to reverse that trend (time spent on Goodreads and Litsy is exempt, of course) and to diversify my reading. My most read genres are mystery/thriller, classic English lit, and fantasy.

I just love that people from all over the world can share in this reading challenge. I can't wait to see what everyone reads. We are a global community.

message 778: by Emily (new)

Emily Dixon | 28 comments Hi I'm Emily from the UK. I'm not at all picky about genre, I'm just excited to explore literature more now I've got time after finishing my degree. I'm so excited to see what other people are reading all over the world

message 779: by Emma (new)

Emma Turner | 1 comments Hi everyone, I’m Emma from the UK. I live in London and I actually am doing the 2017 challenge but I didn’t join GoodReads or discover this group until July so I thought I’d drop in and say hello!

I’ve really fallen back in love with reading in a big way this year. I’m an English teacher and frequently end up getting into long debates with my students about a book they’re reading. We often read a book together and discuss it.

Personally I love reading fantasy, classics and historical fiction. My favourite authors are pretty diverse but I love Tolkien, Allison Weir, Kate Mosse, Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters, Sarah J Maas, George Elliot and Fanny Burney. I am trying to read outside of my comfort genres more so will try and do this in 2018!

Very nice to be here and meet you all!

message 780: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (a_bookish_shelf) | 26 comments Hi! My name is Danielle and I live in Australia.
Last year was the first time I have done a reading challenge since I was a young child and I really enjoyed it, so I’m really excited to undertake a new one.
My mum thinks I am an absolute geek because I made a table on my phone, complete with drop down menus and star ratings, to keep track of the challenge.

message 781: by Teriyaki (new)

Teriyaki Tofu (teriyakitofu) | 17 comments Hi! I'm a 27 year old stay at home mom to a 4 and 1 year old. I like to read, crochet and play video games! Now that my boys are a little older I'm hoping I can read more than the 4 books I've read this year!

message 782: by Lies (new)

Lies | 2 comments Hi everyone!

I'm Lies, in English Lizz, and I'm a 24 years old girl from Belgium. I love reading, otherwise I probably wouldn't be on goodreads, but too bad I don't always have the time to do so.
I know the Popsugar reading challenges from before, but in 2018 I definitely want to actively participate on it! This because I find myself reading a lot of books from the same genre and I kinda wanna go out of that comfort zone. My goal for 2018 is to read 30 books, and I hope the real committed readers don't blame me for that since it's not a book a week :) I hope to find - and I'm quite sure I will - some inspiration for different kind of books!

message 783: by Gabi (new)

Gabi (eeclayton) | 30 comments Hi! I'm Gabi, and I'm a 34-year-old secondary school teacher from Budapest, Hungary.
I did the 2015 challenge and enjoyed it a lot, but I did it more or less on my own (tried to recruit some family, but they quickly gave up), so I'm looking forward to doing this challenge as part of a group :)

message 784: by Leona (new)

Leona (mnleona) | 244 comments Hello all.
My name is Leona and I live in Minnesota but was raised in Texas. I like historical readings. I am 79 years old and have always loved reading. So nice to see so many young people reading.

message 785: by Niru (new)

Niru (niruds) | 9 comments Hey all!

I'm Niru, from London. I've never done a reading challenge before so thought I'd give it a go for 2018. I'm not a speedy reader so not sure I'll get through the entire list but going to give it a good try! Looking forward to chatting and seeing what everyone else is reading!

message 786: by Verena (new)

Verena Hi everyone, I’m Verena from Germany. I did the 2017 Popsugar Challenge but didn’t take it too seriously- I used one book for several prompts and have abandoned the challenge for a couple of months 😅 In 2018 I want to use different books for every prompt (my 2017 approach felt like cheating 😄) and I‘m really looking forward to it, because I tend to grab books from the same genre very often and I‘m hoping to broaden my reading habits with this challenge. Also I‘m really looking forward to discussions and book recommendations in this group 😊

message 787: by Kellene (new)

Kellene Hello all! My name is Kellene and I'm from NC. I've been an avid reader my whole life, but I'm definitely hooked in my genre of choice (which happens to be cozy mysteries). For the past 2 years, I've participated in the Challenge on my own, and have pushed out of my comfort zone some, but have been able to use cozies for a lot of the categories, enough to keep me from getting terribly bogged down in stuff I wouldn't typically go for. I am usually doing another challenge and a cozy BINGO game at the same time, so I don't read books in any kind of order for this challenge. And I usually have a kids book or two to take some pressure off and to be able to share with my nieces. Looking forward to this year and having folks to get some recommendations from.

message 790: by Laurie (new)

Laurie Hi everyone - I'm Laurie from Northern VA. I'm an avid reader but sometimes find myself stuck in a rut. I'm looking forward to using some of these prompts to try something new. Happy reading to you all!

message 791: by Naomi (new)

Naomi | 2 comments Howdy y'all....Naomi here, currently residing in San Antonio TX but getting ready to make the move to Myrtle Beach SC. 2018 will be my first time participating in the reading challenge. Really excited :)

message 792: by Melissa (new)

Melissa (eowyn22) Hi! I’m Melissa from South Florida. I’m a Kindergarten teacher and mom of 3 under 12, so I don’t indulge my passion for reading as often as I used to. I am more often than not found on my sofa in a near comatose stupor after a extremely long day surrounded by lovely, but highly energetic kiddies, and then an evening spent shuttling my lovelies to what feels like 9 million activities. I love a challenge, though, so feeling this is just what I need to get that old reading love affair going. Can’t wait to get started!

message 793: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn H-M (carolynhyphenated) | 1 comments Hello! I'm Carolyn. I'm from Cincinnati, Ohio. I have two kids, one 4, one 10 months. Ive always enjoyed reading, but I've really been hitting the books this year because I read while I nurse the baby. I'm really excited to explore new topics and genres!

message 795: by Sarah (new)

Sarah McDaniel (sarahdovermcdaniel) Hi, hello! I'm Sarah from Oklahoma. I'm recently engaged (yay!), preparing for a potential cross country move, and looking for ways to stay centered during this season in my life while facing lots of BIG changes. Not great at following through on these challenges, but hoping to change that this year!

message 796: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer T. (jent998) | 231 comments Hi! I’m Jennifer from Florida. I’m a lifelong reader and I am very eager to start this challenge. This year will be my first time trying it. I’m doing it to give a little structure to my reading and to branch out from my usual genre of mystery/thriller. Plus I love making lists and checking things off as I complete them ☺️☺️

message 797: by Jane (new)

Jane Bond | 1 comments Hi, i’m Jane. I’m disabled but I take care of my 88-year-old mother who has Alzheimer’s. I am a lifelong reader! I’m really branching out lately thanks to Litsy, so I enjoy all genres except maybe for romance. I currently reside in Tennessee but have lived in New York, South Carolina, Virginia and was born and raised in West Virginia. I am a Clemson Tiger!

message 798: by Carly (new)

Carly | 3 comments Hi everyone. My name is Carly and I found out about this challenge through Pinterest. I wanted to do it because I have always been an avid reader, but lost a lot of motivation to read for fun during the last 4 years of college. I'm also hoping it will push me to read more books in genres I don't normally read. I live in Michigan, love coffee shops and craft beer, and play 7 musical instruments. Happy reading!

message 800: by Zoe (new)

Zoe Jackson (zoekrystyne) | 4 comments Hi everyone! My name is Zoe and this is the first year I'm doing the challenge. I see it every year and just haven't done it til this year- the blogger "Adventurous Kate" is actually the one who inspired me to do it now (her post is here: http://www.adventurouskate.com/favori...).

I love to read, but I just finished up my first semester of graduate school and found that it was much harder to keep up with my leisure reading when I had so much other reading to do! I typically read 65-75 books per year and this year I've struggled to finish 55. I'm hoping this challenge will help me read at least 50 books this year. I can't wait to get started and learn about other books from all of you!
