Hi, all! My name is Hannah and I'm super excited to have found this group! Since 2016 I've tried to take part in the challenge, but I always fall behind somewhere in the summer and never catch up. Hoping to take on the 2018 challenge and get a little farther this time :)

Hi everyone, my name is Héctor. i am from Mexico. I would like yo read more this year. it is exciting to meet people who read more than 50 books for year. Also, i am learning english and i would like to chat with someone in order yo improve. Thanks and see you later.
Hi!!! New to the challenge this upcoming year, want to broaden my horizons a bit more! Can't wait to start!!
Hello, fellow bibliophiles! I was going over my reading lists (both read and to-read) and found that I am in reading rut. I found the 2018 Popsugar Reading Challenge on Pintrest and felt like a light had been turned on. The prompts have me intrigued to find new reading material. I am excited to get started.
Hi I’m Amanda I’m 21 and I’m from Alabama I heard about this challenge on Twitter and it seemed fun and like a good way to read more this coming year I’m definitely excited to participate 😁
Hi all. I am Argyri, I live in London and I am originally from Greece. I heard about this challenge from Pinterest and I can't wait to start it over. My target for 2018 is a book a week :)
Hi! I'm Sandra, I'm 26 and I live in Portugal. I've been in the group for a while and I've known about the challenge since the beginning, but 2018 is the first year that I'm going to join. I will try to do as many prompts as I can!
Hi guys! I'm Amanda and I'm from Scotland but I have been living in Auckland, New Zealand for the past 11 years. I love reading - it's my favourite thing to do. Crime, horror and thrillers are my favourite but lately, I have been trying to read books outside of my comfort zone. This is why I am going to be doing this challenge in 2018! I'm excited! :)
Hello fellow book lovers! I hail from the Twin Cities, MN. When I don't have a book in hand I can be found watching Wild hockey, baking my latest dessert recipe or scouting out the latest fashion trends!I gravitate towards books that deal with current events, history or are classics as well as poetry and biographies of interesting women.
I participated in the 2017 challenge to stretch the themes and topics I typically read about after finding the list on Twitter and am looking forward to doing more of the same in 2018!
Hi! I'm Anne and I hail from Omaha, Nebraska. I have always enjoyed the Popsugar Reading Challenge and am excited to be reading with you. It is great to read your suggestions for the challenge categories and I am looking forward to exploring some of the options I saw while familiarizing myself with this page. I read a lot of children's and YA books for a book club I am in and I tend toward cozy mysteries on my own. I love getting into the different genres on the Popsugar list and am looking forward to the 2018 topics.
Bring on the New Year, 2018! Every year I have set myself the resolution to complete the Popsugar reading challenge, but every year I have always allowed the demands of life to stop me (whether that be university, stress, family, etc.) Not this coming year though! Reading is one of those pure delights that as i've gotten older i've only grown to appreciate more. For me, reading is at the top of my self-care routine. Whether for the purposes of shutting my brain off to the adorable cliches of a sloppy romance or to invigorate my soul with the triumphs of beloved characters, novels feed my soul in the most inspiring and touching way. I'm a 25 year old woman on the outskirts of a quarter-life crisis, who was brought back from the brink thanks to the wonderful magic novels behold. This challenge for me is more than just widening my range. It is a means of encouraging myself to do the things that fill my life with joy and light, which reading most certainly does.
So here is to my best year yet, in which reading will be a central part of its success.

Cheers! I couldn't' agree more...feel the same way! I am excited for this 2018 challenge! I can't wait! And I am going to do the advanced portion too!

Love this platform for that exact reason, you get to meet people who share similar views and concepts and behold your same love for the art of writing. I'm planning to do the advance portion as well. I haven't decided as of yet if i'll choose all the books appropriate to the prompts or let it happen organically next year. What about you, are you writing your Popsugar TBR now or winging it next year??
Hannah wrote: "Hi, all! My name is Hannah and I'm super excited to have found this group! Every year I start but always seem to fall behind and therein give up. Not this year though, we will both get it done and hopefully learn more and enjoy more by exploring the novel prompts. Do you have a favourite genre? I'm a romance & YA junkie and want to try to get out of my comfort zone reading wise, hence the brilliance of the challenge.
Hi Trina....I am working on an excel spreadsheet now to work them all in lol. I am definitely not winging it..thats whybI failed at last years challenge. I tried to wing it. Then had issues trying to get all the books to fit the categories....etc! :-)
Good point Jessica!! Looks like I’ll be doing some collating today to get myself organised too!! Thanks for your honesty and opinion. All the best with the challenge, look forward to seeing what you’ll be reading and how your enjoying them.
I like to have an idea for around half but being very flexible because first year I nearly failed because I would get bogged down with a book I had chosen in like November then wasn't interested in when I picked it up in June. Then I was burnt out from trying to read so many books I disliked that I did a shorter version of the challenge in '16. This year I may not finish because I didn't plan enough and for other reasons but I have enjoyed it much more. So I think it's about balance for me, having ideas for particularly the toughest ones but allowing myself to change my mind and pick up whatever I want if I'm in a slump then fitting those books wherever I can. I do a lot of juggling!
Thanks Tara, that’s great advice! That is where my hesitation in selecting all my books came from, in case I started one, didn’t enjoy it but felt I had to persevere. I like your idea of maintaining that balance however by selecting my list but can swap and change if need be! Although I’d like to complete the challenge, it’s more important that I can enjoy it and grow from it. Thanks for you insights! Look forward to seeing your reading list and thoughts on said books you read.
Hi! I’m Lindsey and this will be my first challenge! I tried the one for 2017 but I started way too late (in September) so I’m looking forward to this 2018 one!
Hi! I've been doing the challenge this year (I actually started in July, but there were a lot of overlaps with the Around the Year challenge, so I was able to get many books checked off), but still haven't introduced myself or posted, so I thought I would say hello! I'm doing the 40 books and it looks like I will finish within the next few weeks, but I think that next year I'll try for the harder version of the challenge! I love that it's getting me to read books I wouldn't read otherwise. Last week, I read Lady Susan, and enjoyed it quite a bit, but I hadn't really been that interested in it until I realized it would fulfill the Epistolary requirement.
I'm also looking forward to the 2018 challenge!
Hey everyone. Just discovered that this challenge existed and wish I found it years ago! Sounds like a lot of fun, so I'm setting my sights on 2018. Question though: Is this the type of challenge where 1 book could check off a few different prompts, or is the idea to do 1 book per prompt. Thanks! Looking forward to starting on the first prompt Jan 1st!
Hi! I'm Vikki and I'm a book blogger! I'm planning to join the 2018 challenge and this is going to be my first challenge. All the prompts sound so interesting, looking forward to getting started on them. :)

Hi! I'm Makayla, 24 from Panama City, Florida! I work part time in a library and of course I love to read! I saw the link to the 2018 reading challenge(can't believe I've been missing out) and was super excited about this! I've already been working on the reading list finding which books in my TBR pile will fit in the categories! Hope this is fun and will get me reading even more than I do now which is the real challenge haha!
Hi! My name is Alicia and I’m from Connecticut. I just saw the story for the 2018 challenge and I wish I knew about it years ago! I’m excited to get started on this years challenge!
Hi all! My name is Susanna, I'm 33 years old and living in Maryland, just outside of Washington, DC. I've been doing the 50-book challenge for a few years now, and when I saw the PopSugar challenge I knew it was time to shake it up! Definitely hoping to get good suggestions and ideas to fill the prompts, and will share my own as inspiration hits!
Hello! My name is Olga, I'm from Moscow). You can*t see me without a book never. I read everything, everywhere .... MAIN FEELING OF PLEASURE!!!!! I have already taken part in book challenges several times. But in this site i has come for the first time . I hope everything will turn out! In 2018 I chose you.
Hi! I am from New Zealand. I have been doing a reading challenge this year but its not this one - although some of the books I have read would fit in. I am going to do this challenge next year and am looking forward to it.
Hi I'm Jacqueline from Australia :) I used to read all the time but I haven't for about 20 years except for a few bursts here and there. Now I'm back into it and thought I'd start by pushing myself with the 2018 reading challenge.
Hi everyone! My name is Cassi and i love readindg.Im from Saskatchewan, Canada. Im ezcited to get started with the challenge next year. I think i am going to try and pick some books ahead of time to help me stay on track ☺
Hey guys, I'm Irene (my friends call me Selly) from Italy. I've tried to keep up with these Reading Challenges since 2016 but, due to University commitments, I have not succeeded even once in finishing the Challenge. This year I'm trying my best: I revived my Goodreads account and I'm now looking for support and, why not, new friends with the same passion/hobby as me: reading!Hope to make it this year (and the next as well!)
Hello!! I’m Jessica from North Carolina! I am a huge book lover and set a goal every year. This is my first Pop Sugar Challenge and I am excited to participate! I usually read over 170 books a year (which include comics and manga).
Hi, T.A. here, from Oregon. I'm brand new to Goodreads and still trying to figure things out. I'm also new to the Popsugar challenge, though I've participated in a couple of different ones the last couple of years. I work full time and I'm mom to three elementary age boys, so finding time to read can be difficult. It's a little overwhelming to commit to reading 40+ books although I've read more than that this year so far. It should be doable. Already I've found some great sounding books from the discussions here (yeah, I've been lurking for a little while).
So, here's to a year full of great books!
Hi, I'm Michelle, new to this group and hoping to do the Popsugar challenge in 2018! I intended to do it this year but life took over and I got sidetracked. I'm a mom of 4, married, in school, etc., but this year I hope to find more time to read!
Hi, I'm Latanya from Los Angeles. New to the reading challenge, though I've completed several non-Popsugar challenges. I tend to breeze past at least 52 books in a given year (I'm at 137 as I type), so I'm good with this one. I'm a voracious reader and I write, along with listening to music, enjoying film, traveling, and spending time with my family. Can't wait to get started on this challenge.
Hi, I'm Aimee from Cleveland. I'm excited to start the 2018 Popsugar challenge! I love to read (especially popular fiction, scifi, dystopian fiction, science- and history-focused nonfiction, and horror) but I'll read anything. I'm always open to book suggestions! In addition to reading, I love to explore, travel, photography, writing to penpals, museums, learning new things. Happy Reading!
Hi Everyone! My name is Irene and I live in Athens, Greece. I have always loved books and have thought about joining a book club for years. I found the Reading Challenge to late to join for this year but plan to do it for 2018. I can't to see what everyone is reading!
Olá, I'm Emanuel from Portugal. I did the challenge for 2017, and I'm preparing the list of books for next year of 2018.
Hello! My name is Jennifer, but my family, friends, and boyfriend call me Jenny. I grew up in Lehighton, a small town in Pennsylvania. I am a substitute teacher for two school districts as well as a part-time cashier at my local Lowes Home Improvement. I spend the majority of my free time reading and always have a book with me. If I'm not reading, I'm usually spending time with my boyfriend or family, watching Netflix, listening to music, playing clarinet, journaling, browsing Facebook or Instagram, or looking for new books to read on Goodreads. I've been trying to work on the 2017 Reading Challenge, but I'm hoping to be a bit more successful with the 2018 Challenge. I didn't find this group until I was reading the article from Popsugar about the 2018 Challenge and followed the link to this page.
Howdy all! This is my first Popsugar reading challenge and the likelihood of me completing all of the reading challenge prompts is slim. Why? Because I'm only reading books I already own. I'll probably come pretty close to it thoughAnyway, a bit about me. I'm a former literature and computer science, I have the pleasure of working part-time at a bookstore, I play the flute and piano, I enjoy whitewater rafting, camping, and rock climbing; and last but not least I'm headed back to school to get my teaching certification. Oh yeah and I just moved back to Maryland from Colorado.
If anyone is up for some buddy reads let me know.
Hey all... my name is Sara and I'm from Canada... I love to read and came across this challenge and thought this may encourage me to make more time to read and also broaden my horizon a little :)
Hi, I'm Jessica, from Ontario Canada, I am a huge book reader but had gone thru a stage where I was not interested in reading and was hooked on the internet and online puzzles (stupid depression), anyway I had decided that I was gonna start reading more books and what's a better way to do it by joining this Challenge for 2018!, Can't wait to start.
I'm Dana from Ohio. I'm always reading and I already read diversely. My friends started challenging me to do this challenge last year and this one so why not continue. I usually have a lot of fun with it (though since I already do read diversely the genres I don't read I usually actively dislike so some of the prompts aren't going to thrill me).
Hi! My name is Adrienne. I am a mom of two kids (16 & 6), and also help my mom and grandmother care for my nephew (also 6), who was born with spina bifida. I enjoy cooking, crafts, traveling, flowers, and of course reading! I have been a bookworm since I was 8, and discovered the Ramona books on a plane heading to France. I have been in a reading rut for a while now, and I am hoping this group will help change that. I also hope to get to know other book lovers. My dream vacation would be a tour of libraries around the world.
Well Hello, all! I'm Carrie Gray, from Wauwatosa, WI - a suburb just west of Milwaukee. I'm a mom of 2 and an actress/singer, and I have day jobs at the YMCA and Starbucks as well, to pay the bills. ;) I've had friends who have done reading challenges in the past and I have been slacking this year on reading, myself (aside from scripts anyways) so I figured it was time to get on board...I made myself a spreadsheet and posted my list over in the *Post Your List* thread as well...Excited to get started.
Greetings! I am Anuya, a college student from Michigan. My academics and other activities make it very hard for me to pursue one of my favorite hobbies: Reading. I discovered this reading challenge in May 2017 and decided to participate actively from 2018. I am excited about the challenge and to read books from a plethora of genres!
Hello, I'm Jonathan. I'm a freelance writer - I live right outside of Nashville, TN. I write for a couple of YouTube channels currently. Just discovered this Reading Challenge and am excited to dig into it come 2018. Currently working on my list and will post once it's completed.
Hello! I’m Lauren and I just moved back to Connecticut (I grew up here but have been living in Los Angeles for a few years). This year I participated in a few book bingos and had a blast with those, so I’m excited to get started on this challenge!
