Hey! I'm Elizabeth! I'm from California and I joined this group with my sister, Jessica. I discovered this group by searching for it after I saw the new reading list for popsugar. I did the list last year but I didn't finish because things got too hectic with full time school and work. However, I think with the help of this group I will find the motivation and support needed to finish strong this year!

I had heard about challenges like this before but actually never have participated in one and that's why I decided to join this group when I came across it - to keep things rolling. However, at the beginning I thought it might be a little late to join but eventually I decided to try it anyway and now I'm proud to say I've already finished two books. I'm sixteen years old and I still go to school so there's nothing much to tell about me, expect that I like to read a lot.

I tried to to the reading challenge last year and although I failed, I still read more new books than I usually managed in the last few years .... I tend to reread my old favourites too much.
I am already way behind this year - I only finished two books for the challenge and I am on my third, so I hope that reading a bit more actively in this group will help me to get motivated to get on with it!
I am currently unemployed, hopefully that will change some time during the year :)

I am long "retired" from professional pursuits. Now I indulge in Goodreads conversations, a bit of writing for personal pleasure, activities in my community, and time with friends and family, trying to keep up with the demands of daily life.

I love reading classics, weird or obscure books, and reading outside my comfort zone. I'm trying to read mostly TBR books for this challenge--my TBR is almost 600 books, but I find I'm still adding more anyway. Oh well!

I'm from bellefonte/state college, Pa. just recently came back home after living in Oregon and N.C.

I have just recently stumbled across this group on Goodreads and absolutely love the premise behind it! I'm a bit behind on the prompts, but fortunately, some of my Goodreads Book Challenge books fit in. I have some catching up to do, for sure.

I'm working to regain them and by finishing this list and interacting with other awesome readers I believe it can help.
I'm excited to be here 🙋🏾

Hi Sara! My name is Kate. I wanted to say hello because I am currently in graduate school for my MLIS degree and I also have a degree in Music History and Theory! I completely understand what it's like to work for a micromanaging boss. I hope you find a better job soon! :)

I've always been a bibliophile and I'm hoping to instill the same love of reading in my son! Although being a new mother is incredibly busy I'm finally able to sneak in some reading time now that my son is a little older and I can't wait to dive in to some great books again. I joined a book club on a parenting website that I frequent and I came across this reading challenge recently and was immediately intrigued. So, here I am! Ready to get reading!

Anyway, about this popsugar thing
I tried to do this challenge in 2016, but didn't get very far, so at the start of 2017 I set myself a goal of 12 books (1 each month). But since I reached that number early may, I changed it to read at least 30 clues for this year. Right now my counter is at 22, so maybe I'll change it again in the near future.
And why am I mad enough to try this challenge? Because I want to read books I normally wouldn't have tried.

I decided that I need help and figured that there should be a group here about it and I was right :D
I'm so grateful that this place exists! I found plenty of books for a few prompts I have no idea how to fill <3

I'm Raven! I've been doing the Pop Sugar challenge for the last two years and I'm super psyched to have found this group! There are always a few prompts I have trouble finding books for so this will be helpful for next year's reading challenge!

I actually discovered Pop Sugar challenge in 2016 when one of my friends asked if I was game to do it with her - we are both avid readers. We roped another couple of friends into it, set up quarterly 'lunch/brunch' meetings to discuss progress, and off we went. We loved it so much, we did it again this year, adding several more members to our 'Challenge Reading Group' who participate virtually. We still meet for lunch/brunch and bring our distant participants in via video chat on smartphones!
Besides being an avid and eclectic reader and book owner, I love cultural events (opera, theater, museums), travel, and needlework (cross stitch and needlepoint mostly). Most of my friends are also avid readers; talking books is a daily experience.
I've been an avid reader since I was 10 years old and my brother gifted me with 3 Nancy Drew mysteries. That was 52 years ago, and I've had a lot of books in my life since. One of my self-imposed rules is to fill challenge prompts by reading as many books from those I already own, either in print or ebook, as possible because I own a LOT of books. One of the amazing benefits of that self-imposed rule is that most of the books have been wonderful reads, rarely a dud. I think its because something about the book appealed to me when I bought it that had nothing at all to do with filling some challenge prompt.
This year I decided to see what kind of group experience I could find on Good Reads, using GR more than in the past, and I found this amazing group! It has added to the experience immeasurably.

I have a very small group of friends on Facebook (less than 20 of us) that I run a theme based challenge for. I post 1 theme a month and they can choose to read something or not. Because of the smallness and sometimes lack of participation of that group I am looking for something with a little more going on on a regular basis, so I stumbled upon this group for my personal reading challenge. As I said before I only tend to read a book, maybe 2, a month so I don't see how I would possibly finish this challenge but I enjoy the themes and bookish chats.
About 2 years ago I realized I was reading the same authors over and over again and I needed something different. I went out on a limb during a school book fair I was working and bought The Blood of Flowers by Anita Amirrezvani. It was wonderful and opened my eyes to read as many different types of books as I could. No more mainstream for me. Since then I have been choosing my books from a list of 137 themes (so far). I started at the top and I am continuing right down the list in order. By doing this I have read a play, short stories, award winners, classics and even a graphic novel that I would have never even thought to pick up before.
Yesterday I beat my reading challenge by completing my 13th book for the year, so I decided as a reward I would be brave and start posting on here instead of stalking. It is scary when you accomplish 13 books while everyone else is reading 60 but you all seem very friendly. I look forward to pushing myself to read more each year.

This is my first year in this challenge, a friend of mine suggested it to me because after my father's death I had somehow lost the ability to go through an entire book. I was so sad!! I had always LOVED reading, and I was so stucked it made me (more) sad. Anyway, the challenge worked magic for me, I found myself reading as avidly as always, and with the addition that the challenge makes you read such a variety of books!! I am enchanted, really.
I must confess, though, that I have been cheating -a lot. I do not have the time to complete the challenge (even the regular one) bc I usually work long hours, so I thought a good compromise would be to read books that fit simultaneously in two prompts, so that by the end of the year I would have read 20 books (which is a huge progress, coming from zero!), kind of a soft landing. That´s why I haven't posted my list either, it´s a cheat-list :P
Anyway, as I said, I´ve been following you guys a lot, and took so many recommendations (which I enjoyed a lot!!), that I don´t think I could have come so far without you - big thanks!!
So far I have read 17 books, so considering that there are three more months ahead, I might read single-prompt books from now on.
Again, thanks a lot for such amazing group!! Maia.

I also challenge myself on Goodreads to read a certain number of books each year. Since you've challenged yourself to 20 this year, perhaps you can challenge yourself to 25 next year. Good luck!

Yes, I want to do that, try to keep pushing myself a bit more every year :) thanks for your support!! :)

I just saw the PopSugar reading challenge and that directed me here. I haven't read in a really long time. I start a book then don't finish.
It's never too late to start reading so I'm excited to dive in for the remaining 3 months of the year.
WOOT :)

I love reading challenges like this, because they encourage me to read stuff I normally wouldn't consider. And I like when I need to ask a friend or relative for a recommendation. I've found some really wonderful books this way!

My name is Melanie - Mel - 26 years and I'm from The Netherlands :) Most of the books I read are Young Adult and I pretty much only read fantasy & fairytale retellings. This challenge is a fun way to pick up some other books as well.

My name is Stephanie I am a regional school media specialist, based out of the middle/high school and coordinate four elementary schools as well. Needless to say, books and reading play a huge role in my life.
After many national commitments the last few years, I am looking forward to diving back into reading challenges. I am hoping Popsugar will be doing another reading challenge next year.

My name is Jessica I work from home and am so excited to reach my Goodreads goal of 50 books read this year. I would like to try this challenge, although I will say there are several categories I am NOT excited about! hhhmmm maybe I will benefit from the suggestions! :)
