January Challenge - RETURNS and EXCHANGES
I've finished my RETURN book - another thrilling instalment of the Dresden Files: Grave Peril by Jim Butcher 4.5★review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Now back to the Summer challenge :)
Yay! I finished my Exchange book. This is my first finished challenge book this year so I'm really excited about it :)
The Last Dragonslayer by Jasper Fforde 3 stars (how do you guys do that star symbol?)I really wanted to give this four stars because it was cute and creative. When is Goodreads going to give us the half star option? It was a fun book and I'm glad I read it. I'm definitely going to read the next one.
Hey Sarah, I know there's something involving numbers and symbols to produce a star, but I don't know what it is. When I want a star, I insert a special character ★ or copy and paste from someone else's post!And I do give half stars - I round down for my GR rating ie. a 4.5 star becomes a 4 star, but I have a 4.5 star bookshelf, so that if I'm looking at all my 4 star reads in "My Books", I can look across at the bookshelves and see which ones are on my 4.5 star bookshelf. Just in case that option would work for you!

You type the number then & and # followed by 9733 (no spaces)

I've been trying to base it on if I intend to read the next book, assuming it's a series, but that's really not working. I like your idea.

RETURN: I gave 5 stars to Hidden Currents by Christine Feehan so I have chosen Water Bound EXCHANGE: I gave five stars to Already Dead by Jaye Ford. One of the "Readers Also Enjoyed" titles is Someone Like You by Victoria Purman
Brenda wrote: "Sarah check out this thread - it tells you how to do the basic stuff (including stars)..."I only just saw this. Thank you! It gave me the work around for rereading things too, which was recently a problem.
Brenda wrote: "You're welcome:) We have lots of little hints and tips for you all;)"It's wonderful. It took me months to figure out bold and italics and such.
Yah! I completed a challenge for 2015. I did take it easy and chose two easy children's books but it's had the desired effect and I'm keen to sign up for another challenge.I finished my Return: Blueback: A Contemporary Fable
and
Exchange: A Fox Called Sorrow
Now I'm off to sign up for another challenge.

I like the sound of [book:A Fox Called Sorrow|198566] Kerrie, I have added it to my tbr. ;) don't know why that link isn't working?

I have finally picked an exchange read. I am reading Jasper Jones by Craig Silvey because i gave 5 stars to The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
With January well advanced (today is the 19th) and neither of my chosen books yet available from the library, I have a feeling I'm not going to complete this challenge in the time frame. I'm still working my way quite happily through the Quarterly Summer Challenge, so perhaps I'll let the January Challenge slide...reluctantly, a little sadly :(

Don't stress yet Mary;)
Don't stress yet Mary;)
One of mine still isn't back at the library ( naughty borrower is overdue!) As long as I get it by the 30th at the latest I will be okay:)

I'm changing mine. I'm still reading Influx but I just got [book:Revival from the library. So changing Stephen King books
*I don't know why it's making my sentence a link*
Dunno if I'm gonna get to my exchange. Only halfway through The Scar, can't see myself finishing it in the next 10 days. Gotta spend too long digesting China Mieville's world building :P
Liam wrote: "Dunno if I'm gonna get to my exchange. Only halfway through The Scar, can't see myself finishing it in the next 10 days. I finished my EXCHANGE read while I was in Fiji;
And my review is here;
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
It was not a bad book, not anywhere near the five stars that the 'readers also liked' but I am glad I read it. I was going to anyway one day.
I have started my RETURN
and so far it is exciting and charming!
RitaSkeeter wrote: "I've read my exchange book - After Darkness by Christine Piper. This was a beautiful book; 4 stars. I recommend it and will be watching out for further books from..."Great review RitaSkeeter - putting this on my TBR list right now!
I've finished my return. Ice by Stephanie Rowe. Only 2* for this one. Hoping my exchange will be better.
Finished my Exchanges - As my 5★ read I chose Missing You by Harlan Coben - Readers also liked

Completed January's challenge:)
EXCHANGE: I gave The Signature of All Things 5★ and other readers enjoyed Claire of the Sea Light. I enjoyed it too, but for me it was a 3★ read.RETURN: I gave Wolf Hall / Bring Up the Bodies 5★ and I picked A Place of Greater Safety as my return, but it's 21 January and I don't realistically think I can finish a 750 page book by the end of the month. Tackling this problem laterally, I have picked up The Assassination of Margaret Thatcher and read the eponymous story. Different, but I liked it. The rest of the collection will have to wait till I get a full copy.
Challenge complete.
The library has got my copy of The Love Song of Miss Queenie Hennessy in at last so now I will be able to finish this challenge:)
