Ate | 2 comments I read this book around 2016-2018 and I think it's a newer book, probably from the 2010s but I could be wrong. It's a regency era (could be around the time Napoleon was around - am not sure). Heroine's family owns a sheep farm in the english countryside and they borrowed some money from the bank that they have to return. In order to buy enough time to get the money the heroine lies to the bankers and tells them that she is betrothed to a captain (I think his name was something with Mc... but I could be wrong) who has a lot of money. Then the heroine finds the wounded hero and he pretends not to remember who he is and because the bankers are impatient the family tells him he's the captain. He goes along with the ruse and even helps the family with the sheep, I remember that part vividly. SPOILERS. The heroine is always suspicious about the hero's supposed amnesia and I think he is a lord. One of the bankers wants to marry the heroine and he tries to convince her to marry him to save the farm. Towards the end a part of the farm burns down and I think this banker is to blame. END OF SPOILERS
I have a feeling this a very well known book but I couldn't find it. I vividly remember the hero helping with the sheep and being really tired after the first day.
Any ideas will help, thanks a lot

Thanks. I knew it was from a well know author, which made it even more annoying that I couldn't find it. It honestly made my day :)
