The book isn't a recent one. It was read in the 90's at some point. The girl in the book goes to an island which is full of different games and stuff. Like, checkerboard sidewalks. And there are poisonous snakes. She has to get to some part of the island where some family member is being held? The title might have "danger/dangerous" or "island" in it.
