Welcome, Debbie!

Where You Left Me is a raw and emotional memoir about a fearless young jockey whose life is shattered by a traumatic brain injury. At seventeen, everything she knew — her memory, her identity, her purpose — is suddenly gone. Left to navigate the wreckage, she faces isolation, rage, and the long, painful road to healing. This is the story of what comes after the fall — a powerful journey of survival, self-discovery, and the quiet strength it takes to begin again. For anyone who’s ever felt lost, broken, or invisible, Where You Left Me is a reminder that even in the darkest moments, there’s still a spark worth fighting for.

Told with unflinching honesty and aching vulnerability, Where You Left Me doesn’t just chronicle a traumatic event — it exposes the silent aftermath few dare to speak about. It dives deep into what it means to grieve a version of yourself you can no longer access, to question your worth in a world that keeps moving without you, and to claw your way toward healing when hope feels out of reach.
This memoir isn’t polished or predictable — it’s real. Chaotic. Beautiful in its brokenness. It gives voice to the invisible battles so many endure in silence: the mental health struggles, the identity crises, the quiet victories no one sees.
Ultimately, Where You Left Me is a testament to resilience. It’s about the courage to face yourself when you no longer recognize who that is, and the bravery it takes to keep living — not because it’s easy, but because deep down, something inside refuses to give up.

Eight years later, my four-year-old daughter was diagnosed with terminal leukaemia. She, too, endured the brutal toll of chemotherapy — and, like her father, she survived. She would go on to win two silver medals for Team GB at the 1998 World Swimming Championships in New Zealand.
From the ashes of suffering, I rose — not just healed, but transformed. Returning to the very hospital that once sealed my fate, where I became a senior cancer nurse specialist, guiding others through the same darkness I had once known.
Now, fifty years on, I am one of the UK’s longest-living cancer survivors.
My journey stretches from the thundering stages of rock festivals to the sacred lands of the Lakota Sioux Nation — from despair to healing — in a memoir that pulses with courage, compassion, and quiet triumph.
“Shadow of a Survivor,” by John Walker Pattison, is more than an award-winning memoir. It’s a lifeline — a testament to resilience, to love, and to the fierce strength that can rise from suffering.
And, I HOPE it will inspire others.
“A life once given up for lost — now a story that’s saving others.”

Interesting story about the group musical ABBA, from their early beginnings to when they split up! I enjoyed this book! Non-Fiction

I'm planning to launch my first book ever (memoir) in November. I will need a book launch team but I've never been on one and I'm trying to learn now how they work. Would anyone be interested in joining my team? The memoir is about overcoming trauma and mental illness with a Christian theme.

Confession: I've not done this before!
Still with me? Ok, well the memoir is a Christian testimony about overcoming trauma (including those with mental illness) with the help of God and some counseling. If that topic interests you and you'd be willing to join the group, please let me know :-)
Expectations: Read a copy of the memoir I send you, post an honest review on Amazon/Goodreads once I get it set up and maybe share some social media posts here and there.
I'm still figuring this out but that seems like a good start to me, what about you?
Blessings,
Sarah Vigue

This is my first time posting here and I am a first time author.
A daunting experience as a self-publishing creative but a satisfying experience I will continue further.
My book is a memoir called "Dead Versions Of Me - Some versions didn't survive the telling."
This is the first book in a series I will be writing. There will be offshoot books but those ideas are further down the line.
Looking forward to chatting to you all.
