Hello everyone, at eighteen, (fifty-one-years ago), I was told he wouldn’t survive cancer. What followed was an agonizing battle through the wreckage of failed treatments, where hope flickered like a distant light.

Eight years later, my four-year-old daughter was diagnosed with terminal leukaemia. She, too, endured the brutal toll of chemotherapy — and, like her father, she survived. She would go on to win two silver medals for Team GB at the 1998 World Swimming Championships in New Zealand.

Where Did My Brain Go? A Traumatic Brain Injury Memoir

Hello everyone,
I live in sunny Florida and enjoy a daily bicycle ride. I'm old enough to remember the Woodstock Music and Art Fair, and still trying to Give Peace a Chance.

My memoir, Where Did My Brain Go?, tells how I survived a car accident that bent my leg backwards and left me in a five-day coma. My surgeon repaired my leg and let me attend daily physical therapy for a year, without health insurance. I eventually learned that the worst injury was to my brain.

For nine years I didn't realize my brain was damaged. I just knew something was wrong. Instead of taking pills and watching television, I fought to escape from the "disability trap."

It took me eighteen years to finish writing this story, but I'm proud of the result.

I'm glad to meet others who believe that truth makes the best story.
