I think he is pretty self-centered.
Templeton is not a bad character because he helps Charlotte find new words that describe Wilbur.
You know that emojicon that is a happy poo?That is what i think of and Theon.
He`s a bad and a good character. There are certain parts when you don`t want him to do something, and sometimes you do want him to do something.
He was just different. he was a rat too. So I don't think he hated wilbur but... he was probably just was jealous of wilbur or something. I'm still not sure if I like him or not.

He knows he is a rat (we all have known or still know someone who could be characterized as such) and he doesn't pretend to be different. Is he self centered, yes. But there are also the times that he does things for other people such as when he helped think of new words. I liked him as a character and don't see him as "Bad" in any sense of the word.

i have`nt thought about it much,but he does have his selfish moments.
Charlotte brings a lot of depth and happiness into the story too,you know!Wilbur also has his great moments as well
Templeton sure is a rat.
He is just doing his job; being a rat (and doing that job quite well). This story would have been too sugary sweet for even a child to love without him.
