Just finished Ch20 this book is just so much fun and the perfect comfort read. I could easily binge through this one, but it's fun to discuss it too as so much great scenes. Lots of development hitting now with relationship and meeting the family, which was so funny and fitting. Some fun with the cameras and look at another case which I found rather interesting. Also get to know some history of Leland and they talk about his friends partner. Leland and Jackson have incredible chemistry, the humor is perfect but the overall feels and serious side is lovely to see too.

Finished chapter 26. I'm still liking it, but it's dragging a little for me and there are still around 4 hours left on the audio. IDK, it seems too long right now. but I guess we'll see.
I agree it does seem longer then i expected, the chapters are rather short though and when i realised im not even at half way point wondered what could happen next. Not dragging yet for me though i guess shall see once i catch up xx
Just caught up to end Ch 30 and wow, there's a hell of a lot going on now. I love the relationship development, but also that still got own struggles going on and not yet perfect. Need some better communication other then their sarcasm and humor. Of course still love the humor though and wow the chemistry between them is incredible. Also plot is hitting full speed now and interesting twists coming along, but hell yes I'm happy to see some more of hitman Leland. Lots of fun stuff to come, I do think perhaps bit long in places that could have been removed without affecting the story but overall am loving it so much.Im going to continue straight away as its getting good and want to know what happens next xx
Me too, I feel we probably should have checked the chapters for this one and upped it at the start but oh well...
Finished. I kind of have mixed feelings. I enjoyed reading it and it made me laugh, but I don't know that I would recommend it to anyone. I can see why people didn't like it. It was almost like it was trying to be too different things - silly and serious at the same time. The issues they were dealing with - like Leland's childhood and sex slavery and murder - were super serious, but it was hard to take them seriously or get too worked up about Leland's past because the overall tone of the book was so silly. I like their interactions and I liked that Leland was so capable. I also liked that they stood up for each other. But I don't know...

I'm done too. I enjoyed it a hell of a lot and definitely a pure comfort read, Id recommend for the humor and hilarity alone. Everything else I'm kind of with you on, as it did switch between fun and serious randomly. I kind of wish their had been more focus on the cases and the serious side, because those I actually found really interesting when happened like with Henry and the various shootouts, capture and such. I agree with you there but at the same time it somehow worked for me, as I often use humor as a defense mechanism so I could kind of see it that way with Leland and still see the serious side. Although I do wish it had been explored more xxI completely agree with you on final bad guy reveal was rather disappointing as such a build up, that it fell flat. Although I did like that Jackson got a chance to shine and the couple of twists that happened. I'm interested to read the next one, but definitely not in any rush as I think need a breather from the ott and hilarity of those two for a bit.
