I watched that when it came on Adult Swim. It was funny, but definitely strange lol

Eat.Sleep.Lift.Read. (misanthropic_scribe) | 41 comments The Albawitches is bloody expensive on Kindle

4 quid for less than two hundred pages.

message 211: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet | 1241 comments Hope it cheers you up ESLR to know its still cheaper then buying in Paperback on Amazon.

I don't mind paying for physical books. I'd happily pay the asking price. Overpriced ebooks make me rage.

message 213: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet | 1241 comments Do not buy it if upsets you so much stick to the real books ESLR. Do not feel like you have to buy something to join our buddy read. Much rather you be happy and comfortable with what you get.

message 214: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet | 1241 comments I always buy the physical books when I can, but certain authors are not sold in UK bookshop a so much. So I then get the kindle versions. Not really sure how they work out the cost of E books as they are quite erratic. The editing does not seem quiet as professional. I am happy with deadlite press as they seem reasonable generally.

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 862 comments I only get paperbacks unless it is way cheaper to get them on Kindle. For example I got Shades on my Kindle because the hardcover is out of print and expensive on the secondary market.

Has anyone been to the movies lately? I saw Wyrmwood and it was a lot of fun. Link: http://youtu.be/bESob6LPkA0

Anyone else check this one out yet?

message 216: by Mehmet (last edited Mar 01, 2015 06:25AM) (new)

Mehmet | 1241 comments Not heard of the movie yet ! But it looks interesting:-) may watch it if can find it on DVD. Today is start date of our buddy read. I started it last night. But will read properly tonight after work. Hope everyone is ok :-)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 862 comments Does anyone else here use Spotify? It's free I believe.

Link: https://play.spotify.com/user/128903719

Brian Keene made a few playlists that are "soundtracks" to some of his books. I didn't notice this before, but a few of the songs on some of his playlists are the titles of some of his short stories

The playlist "The End" is a reference to his Labyrinth series which was suppose to be written when Brian Keene was done with his writing career. My favorite song on that playlist is one that is the theme to Nodens from Ghost Walk....

Johnny Cash - I See A Darkness

Kaisersoze | 294 comments And I'm starting with Last of the Albatwitches - finally!

message 219: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 862 comments Finished Last of the Albatwitches last night.

I loved it and I can't wait for the next book Invisible Monsters to come out next. If you want a sneak peak at Invisible Monsters you can check out this post located here:https://www.facebook.com/permalink.ph...

And another sneak peak for Invisible Monsters is located here:

I wouldn't read either of those without reading Last of the Albatwitches first.

Still waiting for Darkness on the Edge of Town to come in the mail. I loaned my old one to a close friend and she is on vacation in Hawaii.

Shania (shaniamarie256) | 17 comments I use Spotify.

message 221: by Kaisersoze (new)

Kaisersoze | 294 comments I liked The Witching Tree, but so far, Last of the Albatwitches has a lot of repeat info in it. Which is odd when they're combined in this manner.

message 222: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet | 1241 comments It true I felt the same Kaisersoze

Eat.Sleep.Lift.Read. (misanthropic_scribe) | 41 comments GOC

I read it and really enjoyed it.

message 226: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet | 1241 comments I finished Darkness on edge of town and found it very creepy. The atmosphere he created of feeling trapped and stuck was spot on.

message 227: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet | 1241 comments claustrophobic is the word I am after :-)

Eat.Sleep.Lift.Read. (misanthropic_scribe) | 41 comments Read the first story in Albatwitches - meh. Here's hoping the second one is better.

Kaisersoze | 294 comments I liked both stories in Last of the Albatwitches, though less because they were good Levi stories, and more because they signified the beginning of Keene's end game. The throwbacks to his other works also worked for me, but then I guess that's why I'm such a fanboy. (Though not as big a fanboy as Jonathan with his three questions answered on the The Horror Show podcast a couple of weeks back!)

You heard that huh? I have been graciously taking good care of my fanboy award ever since it was bestowed to me by Brian himself!! ;-)

My precious....
