I saw The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies on December 21. Thought it was great. Paddington looks good.

message 67: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet | 1241 comments Yep Eden I agree the Hobbit movie was great. I thought it might drag but the film went quickly. It was a fitting conclusion.

message 68: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet | 1241 comments Hello everyone :-) just a little notice, if anyone is ready to start reading Dark Hollow, go ahead and read. It is earlier then planned, just I finished my previous book Apartment 16 before our set date. So let the game commence !

Eat.Sleep.Lift.Read. (misanthropic_scribe) | 41 comments Gonna finish up The Martian, and Carrie, then start on Dark Hollow.

message 70: by Mehmet (last edited Jan 06, 2015 06:57AM) (new)

Mehmet | 1241 comments No problem ESLR whether you are ready.
A notice for everyone, please do not feel pressurised to start or finish as a group, read and chat at your own pace. Me and Jonathan like to host relaxed and fun buddy reads. Only rule which I will repeat is please remember spoiler tags when discussing plot points.

message 71: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 862 comments Mehmet is right.

Take your time and feel free to start whenever you want. We want everyone to have fun.

^_^

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 862 comments Mehmet wrote: "We started Adam :-) although looks like some have finished first book already !"

Yes I apologize. Since reading with my buddy Mehmet my reading speed has increased somewhat. I found that on my slow weeks I can cram in a 300 page book easily. I blame my lack of social life, I'm such a bookworm!

Here is my collection of Brian Keene books to share with all of you. I posted them on my Facebook page, but since most of you haven't seen them there I figured I would share them here.

As you can see Mehmet, there is a small chunk of them I am saving for our Spring and Summer buddy reads this year!

message 82: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet | 1241 comments Great picture Jonathan ! Nothing wrong with being a bookworm, it what makes us so special :-)

message 83: by Kate (new)

Kate | 3525 comments I've only read a couple of chapters of this, it's not grabbing me yet so I need to give it some dedicated reading time to get into it.

message 84: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet | 1241 comments Finished Dark Hollow myself last night ! It was a great book, I enjoyed it a lot. Started Ghost Walk now :-)

message 85: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet | 1241 comments Addy me and Jonathan are going start Ghost Walk so you can join in the Buddy read when you ready :-)

Just a group announcement, which I should of stated before to be honest. Sorry folks:-( we will read the first two books back to back, Dark Hollow and Ghost Walk. After that we discuss as a group the next date to start.

Eat.Sleep.Lift.Read. (misanthropic_scribe) | 41 comments I'll try start Dark Hollow over the weekend.

Work has my balls in a vice these days...

message 87: by Maxine Marsh (new)

Maxine Marsh | 737 comments Nice pictures Jonathan! I'm a few chapters into Dark Hollow and definitely sucked into the story. I love it so far.

message 88: by Adam (new)

Adam | 23 comments Hey guys sorry for the lacks in posted will be starting Dark Hollow tonight. Though I have already read these books. They are great reads.

message 89: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet | 1241 comments No worries everyone, I also have failed to post, although I have been reading. Family and work issues I am sure takes priorities and much time to deal with. But hey that is why we enjoy reading so much, it helps us relax. So far out of all the Brian Keene books I read, Dark Hollow has to be my favourite. I going to write a review, want to get my personal feelings out before I read my friends opinions. As this book kinda of touched me right to my heart.

message 90: by Addy (new)

Addy | 5111 comments I lost my books, unfortunately, since I changed phones. Hoping to get them back soon!

message 91: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 862 comments Maxine wrote: "Nice pictures Jonathan! I'm a few chapters into Dark Hollow and definitely sucked into the story. I love it so far."

I hope everyone enjoys this buddy read! No worries if are just starting out. I look forward to hearing everyone's thoughts on this book. If you have any questions about the Thirteen or The Labyrinth feel free to ask me!

message 92: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet | 1241 comments Yep make sure you do ask our top researching on all things Keene ! Jonathan is somewhat of a expect, he may actual be top agent :-)

Ok Addy sorry to hear that, you are welcome to join in anytime you get yourself a copy

Eat.Sleep.Lift.Read. (misanthropic_scribe) | 41 comments Just started, read the first 3 chapters.

Fucking weird. :)

message 94: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 862 comments I am loving Ghost Walk.

Both books are weird in a good way.

Nodens is definitely King of the Thirteen.

message 95: by Adam (new)

Adam | 23 comments I always enjoy the first two books in this set because I live in York, PA and I am familiar with the legend of Rehmeyers Hollow.... Lehorns Hollow....

Also the ending for Dark Hollow left me sad in several ways.

message 96: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 862 comments I finished Ghost Walk, the final note of that novel left me sad and shocked. I really liked it though.

message 97: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet | 1241 comments I reading slowly, as I have been very tired after work this week. The book is great so far. My day off today so may try to read extra later :-) hope everyone doing ok ?

Take your time Mehmet. There is no rush my friend. ;)

I'm doing good. I have been catching up on my other book reads currently. The Dark Tower books are so big and so long! ;)

How is everyone else doing?

message 99: by Mehmet (new)

Mehmet | 1241 comments Great stuff Jonathan :-) how long you been reading Dark tower series for ? It is a long series. I hoping to read some book later, it is evening in UK so I most likely read tucked up in my warm bed bit later.

message 100: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Echevarria (gabrielzero) | 862 comments I have been slowly crawling through the Dark Tower over the last three years I think. Maybe four? I don't digest Stephen King as fast as everyone else. Lol. I am liking it though.
