Questions/Problems in Completed Tasks

Welcome back to the challenge! The posting requirements have changed since you were here last. Please review them and repost your completed tasks.

You've already claimed task 5.10 in post 218 on Mar 09, 2020 08:48AM (although you labeled the task 15.10, the book and info provided in task fits task 5.10).

Task 25.4, option 2 requires you to provide a link to a reference (not the help thread) that establishes the setting when you post.

Task 25.3, option 2 requires a book with an 8 in the page counts. Kindle page counts are not used in the SRC. Please review the Rules of the Challenge for instructions on how to determine page count when reading ebooks or listening to audiobooks.

Task 30.5, option 2 -- The series page lists only 1 series for Dead Heat. The task requires that the multiple series designation must be shown on the book's Goodreads series page.

Ugh - it’s shows in the metadata book on the book page; no idea why it doesn’t show on the series page
ETA ahh someone added it to the title block that is how you get it to show; otherwise it only shows one series)

Yeah, it's the lawyer task, 10.10. I had the criteria for the two tasks reversed on my spreadsheet. (Nick slaps forehead!)

Whoops. Missed that one. I've added your GO ticket request to the spreadsheet. Your new total will be reflected in the next update. Thanks for bringing it to my attention! ;-)

Thanks!

Cynthia is not on the current list of readerboard names. Please repost with your readerboard name.

Task 25.5 - Honey-Don't will not work as a match for Don't. From the Challenge FAQs: TITLES
1. What about words in titles? If a task calls for the word “back” in a title, can I use a title with “Back-up”? How about “Backstop”?
The default rule is that the word must stand alone in the title, so in the absence of exceptions, neither of these would work. Typically, task creators will specify any variations but this must be done before task becomes final. A common variation is to allow plural and possessive versions of the word. Sometimes, task creators will allow any word in which the target word is found intact – in which case, both of these examples would work.
Essentially, a "word" in a title is a string of letters/symbols/punctuation marks with no spaces. So, a contraction is one word, as is a hyphenated word.

Please put your Readerboard name at the TOP of your posts going forward. No need to repost.

Task 30.1 - You've already claimed The Night Swim for task 25.4. Books can be counted only once per challenge. It also doesn't fit the criteria for option 4. Please repost with a link to the book you read.

According to my tracking I should have 4 and posted them in msg: 2384, 2385 and 2607 (two tickets).
Sorry I haven't noticed this earlier.

Sorry about that, Marina! I've added your requested tickets to the spreadsheet. They'll show up on the Readerboard at the next update. Thanks for letting me know!

Task 15.1, book 2 - there is no L in Anne-Marie David"
Oops. I misread the task, thought it was a matching name not initials. I will repost.

Task 30.3 - The Goodreads record for The Keeper is incomplete. eBook page counts are not used in the SRC, only print versions. The print version for this book has no page count. This issue either needs to be corrected before the book can be claimed for points. You can ask a Goodreads librarian to research and fix the problem in General Help.

Your 50 point task was fine. The problem(s) lie with the 2 tasks (20.1 and 30.1) mentioned in posts 232 and 233 above.

Gee, I had a blonde moment I guess. I only saw one of your posts and not the two other ones. All fixed! Thanks for your hard work! You rock!

Please check your math. No need to repost."
I found your missing points (added to the person above you in the spreadsheet). It was my mistake. Your math was fine. ;-) But that means you need to adjust your totals again -- +25 points.

ok..thanks

Golden Oldie tickets are awarded based on the first publication date as listed on Goodreads. As such, The Misanthrope, Tartuffe, and Other Plays, which was first published in 1959, does not qualify for a GO ticket.

Task 10.5 requires a book that has won or was shortlisted. The Other Side of the World was longlisted.

Task 20.6 is a one book task. I've recorded Between the World and Me for this task. Feel free to move Indiana somewhere else.

Task 30.1, book 2 - you've linked to a book that does not fit the task. Please repost including the correct book link.

Task 20.8 - Firefight has the MPG Comics at review.

From the Rules: 5. Books whose main page lists any of these genres: Sequential Art, Comics, Comic Book, or Manga may only be used for 5, 10, and 15 point tasks unless specifically allowed in the task description for a higher point task.
If the book is clearly not a comic book/graphic novel/sequential art, but has those main page genres, you may post here to get approval to use the book for tasks that otherwise would not allow them.

Task 50.1, book 3 - as the Goodreads record shows A Long Fatal Love Chase first published in 1995, this book does not meet the requirements of a Golden Oldie.
