I need an idea

Okay, I'm trying to write a book right now (and publish it HOPEFULLY) since I have written so many little stories throughout my life. I am really torn about to write; and how to start it. I looked at a lot of my old stories and saw that they didn't have a very good subject; nothing that would be interesting to publish. So, I really need an idea on how to start it. I'm thinking an apocalyptic book, since there aren't many good ones out there, but I am ALSO thinking that I should write something like romantic, but not a sappy love story or whatever. Not like the Twilight series (didn't very much like them). So PLEASE,PLEASE, PLEASE post some ideas for me. I would really appreciate it. :)

Well I think a good idea would be a few kids separated on Earth after some form of apocalypse, and they don't know each other, but they have "something" special about each of them... yeah, I think you get the gist, but I can't really think of an ending. It's just a starting point, sorry if I was no help.

:) thanks I'll try it... I'm no good at starting books though.. lol I can usually think of a really great middle, but can't think of a beginning or end :)

The key is not to start at the beginning. Personally, as a writer, I will get a scene in my head that belongs in the middle of the book.
So guess what?
I write it down.
I've found that by the time you get near the end of the book, you'll discover some things about your characters or have an idea for the plot- and you'll have to go back and change things anyway.
Start wherever you need to, and go back and write the beginning later!

/\ agreed. I find it really hard to start at the beginning and just go from there. But I can give you a few ideas.

For the apocalyptic idea.... maybe fallen angles are trying to take over the world because they think there more superbed to humans. And they shouldn't be allowed to live anymore because they'd made to many mistakes and they need to all die. And there's only one person on Earth that can stop it. But Frist the angles need to find them first.

I don't know that's all I got right now. And then maybe you can make one of the fallen angles fall in love with the person that has to try and stop them. But they can't be together because they need to stop the fallen angles and in order to do that they need to kill the highest ranking one and then once that's done all the others will fallow or something like that.
