Brad Haney | 402 comments I’m about an hour into the audiobook and I feel like I’m constantly being bombarded by names and unexplained jargon to the point that I’m feeling kind of bewildered. It feels like the author threw us right into the middle of the story. Did anyone else feel this way to start with? Do things start to make more sense?

Nick (cykoduck) | 26 comments I definitely thought in the first couple chapters I wasn't a fan for a reason I couldn't pin, and I think it's because I felt thrown in and couldn't keep characters straight. I usually don't mind being thrown in (ie Rook) if there are a limited number of "What's going on" elements.

Mer | 205 comments In one of the other GtN threads is a link to the houses and their details which I bookmarked and referred to, often.

Richard Vogel | 246 comments In the other thread, they also noted how the names related to the houses, which makes it a lot easier to understand who it talking.

Brad Haney | 402 comments The jargon is also pretty confusing as well. I don’t know what most of it even means. I’m assuming we learn more later but it’s still a rough way to start a book.

Scott Pantall | 3 comments This is such a relief to see see thread. I went cross eyed at the beginning of the book and stopped reading. I'm curious if I will continue reading. Glad to see I'm not the only one.
