Half way through. The Audible edition is narrated by RC Bray and that man can make a grocery list riveting. So far it’s a pretty entertaining read.
Just realized it's Baxter month. Dog's name is Baxter in Hell Hound and the Author of The Roo is also a Baxter.Just finished the audio book. It was a fun little read. Since The Roo is another short one I may "hop" into that one as well.

Our theme next month will be books written by, or featuring characters named "Baxter".

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who knew that! LOL!

I read this in one sitting last night. I'm still processing it. I love dogs so I'm not entirely sure what I think yet. But I will say, that is very well written and thought provoking. It's a shame Greenhall has all but faded into obscurity.
found a bit of time this afternoon and was able to start reading...if I'd only had just an hour or so I'd likely have already finished. It's delightfully twisted.
I will join and start this in a few days. I got a copy two years ago and haven't read it yet. It was missing in my subscription box and they send me a new one with 'missing hell hound' written on the declaration for customs. That was fun when I had to pick it up 😂
Not a lot of likable people, or critters, in this book.
It was a quick read once I had the time to sit down and go through it. But not quite the book for me. Something about it just didn't click.

I have it finally! Need to finish up the book I’m reading, then onward through to the dog! Looking forward to this book.
I finished yesterday. I enjoyed it, although I didn't feel a connection to many of the characters either.

I can't complain about the writing, but the subject matter was too much for me.

I finished it and gave it four stars on Goodreads. Quite unique and I kept wanting to read on to see if Baxter would ever get found out & what would happen to him.
Even though he obviously wasn’t a likeable dog the ending still shocked me. I quite liked the story because it was so different.
This was a short and disturbing read...in a good way. I fear for future people that interact with Carl Fine since he seems to be a budding psychopath.I really appreciate being introduced to the works of Greenhall. Definitely not anyone I had ever heard of and discoveries like this are exactly what I love about this group.
