Welcome to the first read-a-thon of 2020. The read-a-thon starts from when you wake up on Saturday, February 22 until when you go to sleep on Sunday, March 1, and the goal is to read as much as you can and to have tons of fun. It's 9 full days of books and games. Feel free to participate in as few or as many games as you like.

We’ll be posting a game every day, and there is a Team Challenge. It’s not too late to sign up for the team challenge if you want.

So let’s kick off this read-a-thon with some questions, and don’t forget to keep coming back to the Read-a-Thon folder throughout the week.

1. What are your goals for the read-a-thon?
2. Are there any books you're dying to start or finish?
3. Where will you be doing most of your reading?
4. Are you participating in the team challenge?
5. Is there anything that's going to stand in the way of your reading this week? Let us cheer you on!
6. What are you most looking forward to with this read-a-thon?

Be sure to check in to the progress thread to update us on your reading throughout the week.

1. What are your goals for the read-a-thon?
- I hope to finish four print books! That's super ambitious for me, since I only read 6 in the month of January, but I'm hoping the week off helps me out.

2. Are there any books you're dying to start or finish?
- I need to finish Homegoing for book club on Wednesday, and I'm hoping that I can also get to All the Ways We Said Goodbye and Such a Fun Age since they will be due back to the library soon.

3. Where will you be doing most of your reading?
- At home, in my red chair!

4. Are you participating in the team challenge?
- Yep! Team Cocoa Pebbles!

5. Is there anything that's going to stand in the way of your reading this week? Let us cheer you on!
- I'll probably spend a good bit of time bouncing around the threads making sure there aren't any problems with the team challenge, and I am not feeling well and will probably make a trip to the doctor this morning.. Here's hoping it isn't strep throat!

6. What are you most looking forward to with this read-a-thon?
- Seeing what everyone is reading!

1. What are your goals for the read-a-thon?
I want to get back on track (or close to it) with my in-order challenge. I've lined up a bunch of short, easy reads to help me get through.

2. Are there any books you're dying to start or finish?
I've been sitting on The Hunting Party for ages, so I'm pretty desperate to just knock it out.

3. Where will you be doing most of your reading?
I'm driving to Indy this weekend, so I'll be listening to audiobooks for most of that, and then I'll be reading from home the rest of the week.

4. Are you participating in the team challenge?
Go Fruit Loops!

5. Is there anything that's going to stand in the way of your reading this week? Let us cheer you on!
Just my general preference for reading Goodreads threads over actually reading books 😂

6. What are you most looking forward to with this read-a-thon?
Finishing lots of books!

message 5: by Karissa (new)

Karissa | 440 comments 1. What are your goals for the read-a-thon? Finish 9 books, one for each day of the read-a-thon. Already got some shorter books picked out to help me hit this goal.
2. Are there any books you're dying to start or finish? The Resisters by Gish Jen
3. Where will you be doing most of your reading? At work listening to audiobooks and at home on the couch for physical books
4. Are you participating in the team challenge? Yes, go Team Lucky Charms!!
5. Is there anything that's going to stand in the way of your reading this week? Let us cheer you on! Not really. My boss is out all week so I'll have plenty of uninterrupted audiobook listening at work!
6. What are you most looking forward to with this read-a-thon? The Team Challenge, and getting caught up on my graphic novel reading goal.

1. What are your goals for the read-a-thon? I plan to finish at least 7 books. My superpower in school was figuring out how to get the best grade with the least effort, so I have pulled out some short and fast-reading books. Usually it is rare for me to read books under 200 pages, they don't seem "worth it."

2. Are there any books you're dying to start or finish? The Viscount Who Loved Me is a very funny Regency romance that I started listening to but haven't gotten too far yet. I read lots of "serious" books, but I also love Regencies.

3. Where will you be doing most of your reading? At home on the couch for text, or doing chores while listening to audio

4. Are you participating in the team challenge? Yes, my first time, hurray for Froot Loops!

5. Is there anything that's going to stand in the way of your reading this week? Let us cheer you on! No, because I am (YAY!) retired and I don't have many commitments this week.

6. What are you most looking forward to with this read-a-thon? Being part of a team. I have never done a team challenge before.

message 7: by Kathy (new)

Kathy E | 3339 comments 1. What are your goals for the read-a-thon?
Read 7 books. I have 5 books of about 150 pages each picked out.

2. Are there any books you're dying to start or finish?
Finish Witch World and The Hours Before Dawn
Start and get a good ways into The Woman in the Window

3. Where will you be doing most of your reading?
At home in my recliner!

4. Are you participating in the team challenge?
Yes. Go Team Fruit Loops!

5. Is there anything that's going to stand in the way of your reading this week? Let us cheer you on!
Work and sewing

6. What are you most looking forward to with this read-a-thon?
Reading! And the Team Challenge!

message 8: by Tracy (new)

Tracy (tracyisreading) | 2573 comments 1. What are your goals for the read-a-thon?
Finish my library books!!!!! And tick off a bunch of prompts :-)

2. Are there any books you're dying to start or finish?
A Clash of Kings ( and then I will probably want to start the third book.... I'm kind of obsessed and by the end of the year I will be left hanging. DAMN YOU George R.R. Martin!!!), Sadie

3. Where will you be doing most of your reading?
At the kitchen table with a lot of coffee LOL. Or possibly in bed because my neck hurts today and I need ice. I don't want to nap though.

4. Are you participating in the team challenge?
Yes!! Team Lucky Charms!

5. Is there anything that's going to stand in the way of your reading this week? Let us cheer you on!
I don't think so.... As usual, I have a million appointments, but that's actually been helping me get some audio hours or waiting room reading in. I listen to audio while I'm in the frankenstein machine, getting traction at physical therapy. The only other thing would be if my sister in law runs into trouble this week with her concussion. She had a horrible car accident on Monday night. Praying that she is feeling better soon. She was extremely lucky.

6. What are you most looking forward to with this read-a-thon?
Conquering my TBR pile, having fun, and seeing what everyone is reading.

To read books for ATY only and to finish at least 4 books.

5. Is there anything that's going to stand in the way of your reading this week? Let us cheer you on!
It will be my first week at work, so that will eat up a lot of my reading time. Hopefully with the help of audiobooks I'll still manage.
6. What are you most looking forward to with this read-a-thon?
All the planning and fitting books to prompts, I just love spreadsheets! And participating in the team challenge in general!
