I am trying to find this book where I think the heroine goes back in time for some reason and meets a version of of her current love interest and he is a prince in this past and takes a liking to her.. even holds her hostage in his castle for a bit...later I think it is found out that his soul was split or something..it is definitely Young adult fiction with magical-ish aspects and kinda fairytale/storybook based...

PN_008, around what year did you read this book? This will help us narrow down the search.
How does she time travel - and how far back in time does she go? Where is she when this happens?
How old is the heroine? Where does she live (country/region/city/small town)?

Hey,I think I read it about 2-3 years ago. But I think the series was complete at that point. Im not exactly sure how far back she goes but I think its a long time, maybe a century+. The heroine is in her teens. I believe she lives a city. Sorry about the vague description, I can't remember much else.
Thank You
No worries. Here are some common time-travel triggers - e.g., falls asleep, is knocked unconscious, touches an object, stares at a painting, walks through a portal, etc.
I also remember that in the present the Hero is with the darker part of his soul or something...because his soul was split in the past. And at the end(of either the book or the series) is reunited with his entire soul(the good part). Also, in the past when he was a prince(technically, I guess he is still a prince in present day...) he holds her hostage...he likes her and I think he wants to marry her? lol
Probably not it, but this happens in the Unfortunate Fairy Tale series. The first book is UnEnchanted, but I don't think this comes up until much later in the series. What format did you read the book? Was it new when you read it?
