"why don't you take a nap and Amelia and I will whip up a welcome home dinner? " Sam says
Sam smiles and she goes to the living room to make dimmer
"so what should we make, little miss?" Sam asks
Sam smiles "well let's make some mac n cheese"
Sam has Amelia help by getting some plates and she makes the home made mac n cheese
After about an hour, Sam scoops the meal onto plates in the dining room
"what wrong sweety pie? " Sam asks when Amelia sighs
"Yes but let's not think about that ok? she's here now. right?" Sam says in a gentle voice

"dinner is on the table." Sam saysAmelia goes to hug haylee
"are you going to eat?" Sam asks as she wheels herself to haylee
"Haylee you know you have a wheel chair for a reason?" Sam says, seeing how weak she is
"How do you think I felt when I got bugz? Haylee you need to give yourself time to recover. I went through the same thing after my accident" sam says
Sam is in the bathroom, getting Amelia a bath
After awhile sam comes in "are you feeling alright hails?"

Sam wakes up the next morning to the sub streaming in through the blinds
"Haylee?" Sam says softly, shaking her a bit. Sam checks her pulse, shocked to find she had none
Sam goes to tell Amelia. How did this happen? She was doing so well
Sam rolls over to the bed and scoops up Amelia, holding her close "shes with grandpa now." Sam says softly as that was how she explained it because her dad passed away when Amelia was a year old
"Sweet heart...he doesn't hate us. He saw how much pain mommy was in...so he brought her to hevan where all the pain goes away." Sam says as a tear rolls down her cheek
((Its kind of hard to explain....but pretty much two best friends live in a world where when they come of age, (15 years) they are a candidate for "human portal testing" performed by robots which have been so well built, they have an intelligence all their own. In portal testing, humans are put through test tracks with a portal gun which allows them to generate portals where they can go from one area to another by stepping through. But the portals can only be generated on "portal walls" and they have to get from start to finish by doing certain tasks.The idea:
Two girls have been best friends since birth. When one comes of age, she is taken for testing, leaving the other without her best friend. And then when girl b comes of age, shes taken in as well....but she wont go down without a fight. She teams up with girl a to find an escape rout

"I know baby...I know. She would have loved it. Why dont you get dressed? I need to make a call." Sam says, knowing they couldn't have haylee there forever, as much as she hated it, she needs to call the funeral service and the coroner
Sam makes the calls then comes back to amelia's room
Sam smiles slightly, knowing haylee is watching over them

"Did they really chose you already? Before we know it they will be taking us when we are ten" kate says moodily, she always hated the apature science cooperation

Kate smiles "we'll kick some robot ass."Kate's mom, Amber, comes in. "Are you staying the night haylee? Because I'll be turning the power off soo . Its getting late and you should call your mom so shes not worried"
"Youre strong enough. And you get one of those portal guns...that's pretty cool" kate says, trying to lift haylee's spirit
Kate hugs haylee "when I go...I'm going to find you. And we will get out of there."
Haylee's mom hugs her tightly "I'll see you again in a couple years" she says reassuringlyA man wearing a white labcoat with the logo for apature science waits for haylee to say her goodbyes
Kate hugged her back "not a couple years...a year. Dont forget about me when they put you in suspension before testing" kate says, trying to crack a smile but she couldnt. A whole year with out her best friend?
