I finished Sworn to Silence (Kate Burkholder, #1) by Linda Castillo although, I started it last year. LOL! I'm currently reading Rotten to the Core (Orchard, #2) by Sheila Connolly and Masked by Moonlight (Moonlight, #1) by Nancy Gideon ... both of which are great!

I loved Sworn to Silence when I read it last year. Actually, I've read the first four books in the series and they're all great.

Robin (robinmy) Finished Hard Bitten (Chicagoland Vampires, #4) by Chloe Neill Hard Bitten by Chloe Neill. Loved the book right up until the shocking ending. Don't know what to think of the developments at the end. I hope the author hasn't written herself into a corner.

Lara | 2335 comments I'm in the middle of several books right now, but last night I finished Gunpowder Alchemy (The Gunpowder Chronicles, #1) by Jeannie Lin , which I really enjoyed as it felt true to the culture and time rather than current day (or US) characters being placed there.

I also just finished reading Love Only Once by Johanna Lindsey , which is the second Johanna Lindsey book I've liked. (The cover was even more pink than shown) I had real problems with A Loving Scoundrel (Malory-Anderson Family, #7) by Johanna Lindsey , which is much later in the series and was leery of reading her for a while.

I've heard good things about Jeannie Lin, and this was my first book by her. I think she mostly writes historical romances set in China.

ShoSho (shoshost) | 12263 comments I'm reading Beauty and the Black Sheep (The Moorehouse Legacy, #1) by Jessica Bird . J.R ward used to write contemporaries as Jessica Bird . I'm reading a reissue of it with this title and cover The Rebel.

I'm listening to Vampire Mine (Love at Stake, #10) by Kerrelyn Sparks which is very weird addition to this series . The heroine is a fallen angel(among vampires) and it involves a priest demon ,Archangels and all sort religious things. it's getting preachy a little bit .

message 18: by ShoSho , Moderator (new)

ShoSho (shoshost) | 12263 comments BTW all the original ebooks in the series by Jessica Bird are on Scribd . I compared my copy to the old version , it's exactly the same.

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments I'm listening to Dead Witch Walking (The Hollows, #1) by Kim Harrison and am surprised I'm enjoying it. Also reading Final Sentence (Cookbook Nook Mystery #1) by Daryl Wood Gerber . I may start The Children Act by Ian McEwan - as it goes back to the library soon. I'll probably start All the Queen's Men (CIA Spies, #2) by Linda Howard next on audio.

message 22: by Lara (new)

Lara | 2335 comments I'm listening to A Hunger Like No Other (Immortals After Dark, #2) by Kresley Cole , but have to find times when DH isn't around (he's out of work right now). I've also started the next book in the Phoenix Adventures: On a Rogue Planet (The Phoenix Adventures, #3) by Anna Hackett , which has a hot cyborg as the hero. Yum!

thanks. She's an autobuy for me. they cancelled my last preorder with some stupid email about this being a series. But I noticed at least 30 reviews on this book and it's not even out yet!

Right? Yeah, they cancelled my preorder as well. I have Colleen Hoover on Facebook and she apologized for this because she didn't want those who aren't into series to purchase a book that they thought would be a stand-alone.

I find it funny when there are reviews of books that aren't even released yet....

I'm excited to read this one though. Have you ever read anything by Tarryn Fisher?

I didn't enjoy the The Opportunist (Love Me with Lies, #1) by Tarryn Fisher . the writing style and the actual story didn't work for me.

Now, they release a "novella" as Never Never is only 140 pages with a cliff hanger and no date for book 2.
Im not in a rush

People liked it, I didn't care for it. It didn't suck but I found the characters not likable.

But in Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover , I found the MCs unlikeable as well, though the writing and storytelling was phenomenal! Excellent writing.

ShoSho (shoshost) | 12263 comments I'm reading His Comfort and Joy (The Moorehouse Legacy, #2) by Jessica Bird by Jessica Bird ( J R Ward) .
It takes place in a town in upstate New York .I checked on Google map the town is only an hour away from Cornwall where BDB takes place .
So here is the point , Book Quote page 97 :"The waiter nodded with deference and dematerialized." !

I keep thinking she used this verb on purpose ! This book was published a year after Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1) by J.R. Ward .
I find this really interesting
