[Siren Everlasting Classic Erotic Alternative Paranormal Romance, M/M, shape-shifters, elves, HEA] On a hike in the woods surrounding Brac Village, Kelson Carswell is tranquillized and kidnapped, thrown into a place made of nightmares. He finds a way to escape but must leave others behind in an attempt to get help. But his plans are short-lived when one of his captors chases Kelson down, determined to end his life. When his rescuer turns out to be a man from the feared Shadow elf race, Kelson is cast into a world filled with chaos, deceit, and loneliness. Rakeym Dareon is the leader of the Shadow elves--a tribe that despises his authority and wishes him dead. The old ways are killing his race, but with his people so deeply entrenched in tradition, the search for an easy solutions seems futile. Amidst this stonewalled society, Rakeym's very foundation is rocked when he discovers someone who will not only change who he is, but bring him to his knees as a once-frozen heart thaws. ** A Siren Erotic Romance
Lynn Hagen loves writing about the somewhat flawed, but lovable. She also loves a hero who can see past all the rough edges to find the shining diamond of a beautiful heart.
You can find her on any given day curled up with her laptop and a cup of hot java, letting the next set of characters tell their story.
Por otro lado, ame a Rakeym y Kelson. Simplemente maravillosos. Por supuesto, Nazul no se queda atras ❤️. Fue una bella historia. Marino ha muerto pero alguien peor ha llegado. Genial, lo que faltaba.
DON'T let that fool you! I loved this! Hard to say what I'd think about some mentioned characters if just reading about the for the first time. Gotta say... this in a lot of ways reminded me of the first book about Maverick and Cecil. To clarify.. the stories are completely different but the tone, the suspense, the loveable quality. I didn't feel cheated even though this is SEVERAL books down the line in the Brac universe.
Plus I was excited to see a closer look to these aforementioned bastards. Ooops didn't mean to say that.. Yeah I did. Getting into the thick of things gives us a better understanding of how and why the Shadow elves have been duschebags in the past. Even Rakeyem being the current tribe leader has fallen victim to circumstance and struggling to find a way to make changes for the better for his people. While he's slow on the uptake, he eventually realizes (with some nudges) that he can't/won't make his mate 'hide' like a dirty little secret.
Can't wait to see the other two rescues and their respective mates come to life :)
Well. Not so bad, actually. Interestingly enough, the connection to the other series is flimsy at best. I kept wondering why no one pressed the situation with the famed Ultionem. Well, why Kelson didn’t.
Then there’s a surprising perspective shift in the middle of a sex scene. I call it surprising because I don’t think that this author usually muddles her perspectives.
But what really keeps distracting me is how Rakeym shortens his word for mate to melamin – since melamine's an actual word that means something.
I’m also confused at how recently in books I read men get blown to orgasm and immediate turn around to top the other guy with no mention of the miraculous seamless recovery or anything.
Meda’s form of therapy is horrifically wrong, too. It might work in some instances but is very bad. I should know.
A new series in the never ending Brac/Coven/Warriors etc etc story lines. I have been reading these different series for ages and I am still not tired of them because Lynn Hagen knows how to tell a great shifter/fantasy story.
This one focuses on the shadow elves and comes with sword fighting, escapes from captivity, emotions, politics, shouting and lurve. Also a few broken windows, scattered rooms and alcohol consumption.
My experience of reading these different series has been mixed with some really great stories and some that only just passed muster. This one brings me right back to the great.
I hope these different series will continue to be entertaining.
Great start to new series. Wanted to know more about the Shadow Elves and Rakeym after reading the Brac Village series. You don't have to read Brac Village to read this one, but characters from it and the Brac Pack series make brief appearances. I connected to the characters and there's the steamy scenes were written well. Can't wait until the next in the series comes out.
The Shadow Elves have always intrigued me for some reason. Maybe because they are blue? I have no idea. I HATED Rakeym in the beginning of this. He was an ass. YAY for Kelson! He may be small, but he won't tolerate any shit.
Very fascinating story, which focuses on Rakeym, and Kelson (coyote shifter). Naturally, for me, I didn't much like the abusive parts of the story, but once Kelson realizes that Rakeym is his mate, then he struggles to soften the heart of a shadow elf who has never received, or felt love in his life. Well written story, and it was nice to see Ahm pop up and visit his friend (Rakeym). As far as the world building goes, the shadow elves do not want to accept any species except their own, so that will be a very tough hurdle to get over for this couple. Interesting plot, and over all thrilling read.
It's been two days and Kelvin hasn't had anyone go back to help the other shifters? What an ass. He's also very shallow in that he'd rather wet the bed than be seen with cuts all over him. He thinks he would be fired as a cashier because he was disfigured? There's something called the law.
Good peril.
Melamin? Curious choice for a romantic word.
A penis isn't a muscle.
Rekeym might not be able to stretch him but that doesn't mean he can't do it himself!
Rating: 3 stars Not my favorite in the Brac Universe. I never really liked Rayeym when he appeared throughout the series. By the end of this book, I did like him a bit more but never truly warmed up to him. Because he was so standoffish and a bit of a jerk throughout most of the book, the love between him and Kelson was unrealistic. The overall book was okay mainly because I liked a lot of the secondary characters.
Rakeym's growth in this is nice told as he comes to love Kelson.
I would hope for a story for Jhan & Nazul plus how the Council deal with the text/book, but who am I kidding.
I was equally sad about Emery, but then also about the Gray wolves that Marino killed. On that, is Mateo able to overcome the Elixir that Marino drank - is this really the cure that Marino wanted? Death.
I didn't know when reading this that I should have knowledge from some of Lynn's other books, so there were some things/character mentioned that I just didn't get. Otherwise yeah, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either.
I loved this book. I wanted to read more stories about the shadow elves. Rakeym is their leader and he rescued Kelson who was escaped and was cut and stabbed to death. These two went through a lot of issues that they had to deal with with elves and others trying to kill them. I can not wait for the next book in this series. Erin
This was a good start to this series....but I felt like things should have been addressed but wasnt... What is Rakeym mixed with?? Why was he considered a mutant?? I dont remember anything like that being said about him... And this series came out in 2014... Why hasn't anything else been written??? And Malone ending I didn't like...WAY to easy...
The plot thickens in the first installment of the newest Brac Pack spin-off. You don't want to read this unless you've read all of the other books (over 65 at least) first, in order of publication. I can't wait for more of the Shadow Tribe and do I sense more Exiled in the works... finally?
While short and while I wished for more. I actually enjoyed this. And I enjoyed the characters. This could be re-read again on a day when I need a light read. Yes, yes, yes!!
This book is the start of the Shadow Tribe. The tribe has been eluded to in previous books from the Brac Pac series and Brac Village series. The plot is ok and the characters have dimension. tho the book starts off a little slow the ending is good.
I’ve loved everyone of Lynn havens books and this one is just as good. I love all the little twists and turns she puts in, they just make you want to keep reading right to the end.
