To everyone making 'PSA's and shitty comments about Goodreads being 'toxic' and 'hazardous to your mental health', here's a PSA for you: Goodreads is a site for BOOKS. Reviews, TBRs, reading challenges, author Q&As, fandoms, etc.
It is NOT for your sixth grade "this reveiw hurt my feelings" 'drama'.
And I use quotations because you fragile little snowflakes who think WORDS on a SCREEN that are NOT about YOU can wound you somehow do not know what drama is because you live in your little tumblr bubbles where you can 'call out' and 'expose' whoever you want in your half-assed excuse for language because you refuse to associate with anyone who differs from you in the slightest.
You aren't here to read or participate with readers, you're here to stir the pot, and it's fucking annoying.
Some points that will make you mad:
It's called freedom of speech and, within reason, when not attacking people, everyone on the internet has it (-someone who had social media pre-2015 here).
You can not 'like' what you don't like. Going after someone with a different opinion won't do anyone any good; it'll just swell your soperiority complex.
If you want to avoid drama, don't get involved it. Leave it alone. Walk away. Don't take the bait. It. Ain't. That. Hard.
Overall, don't be an asshole under the guise of telling others not to be assholes :)

J is SO much like my brother was as a kid- really outgoing, wants to talk your ear off, etc, and then N is SO me- hiding behind his big brother or his mom, won't talk unless you talk to him first. opens up fast though. Especially if you wanna talk about dogs. Also like me, he LOVES DOGS!

Some peoples' 2017 on Goodreads reviews are so cringe-worthy. Fanfic is fun, a good way to build your strength as a writer, learn how to do things like make characters and mimic other styles, but it's NOT. A. BOOK.Sorry, not sorry. It's a fan's take on licensed content. "Tweak x Craig BIG LEMON PWP" isn't literature :) sorry.
^ and that's from someone who CAN'T write action if Harry Dresden isn't involved. I love fanfic. It's helped me immensely.But it isn't an actual book. Sorry again.
I'm not gonna make a timeline for book-finishing. I'd just like to finish Because You Love To Hate Me, The Return Of The King and A Christmas Carol before the 1st. My 2017 On Goodreads review can be on Jan 1st. Won't be the end of the world.
I'm 20-ish pages into A Christmas Carol and I really like it. Looking forward to reading David Copperfield now :D
