Going to the library on Tuesday. Either I'm done with More Happy Than Not by then, or I'm not, and I check it out another time.I want to pay my fine and check out the next volumes of Amulet, and start Wintersong, which I own.
I might be borrowing a laptop to use until i can get a new one if mine can't be salvaged.
My mom was so apologetic over me having to buy a couple of my own school books.It was just this one I needed for English and this one I needed for sociology I couldn't get from the library.
I mean, i bought them used pretty cheap. I had the money and she didn't.
She shouldn't be sorry...

And really. Would you rather have peoples' sympathy, or have them genuinely like you?
Honestly i do feel sort of sorry for people who have to make things up to feel like people can like them. I'm sure their self-esteem is low and maybe they don't like themselves that much.But that's no reason to lie.
I mean... How do the lies make you feel better about yourself, is what I wonder.I'd rather have people not like me than feel sorry for me, personally.

According to the goodreads feedback group, a site outage caused all of today's mayhem and they're working on it.The reviews (if you sort your books by reviews. I do) are still listed by number of likes, the residual data, where it says 'x likesv, got frazzled somehow. Newly generated likes appear.
Dunno if/when they can fix that, just thought i'd let y'all know what i found out.
Also i checked out vols 3 and 4 of Amulet and the library docked my late fee because they were closed for repairs! :D

I don't know why more users, even casual ones who don't review and participate as much, don't join the official feedback group.You can comment with actual GR staff, hear about updates before they launch, all kinds of good stuff.
Plus the staff was posting about working on the issue, AND saying what they were doing to fix it *side eyes facebook* about six hours after everybody freaked yesterday.
