Welcome to Hunting Prince Dracula Buddy Read Discussion thread! This thread officially opens on February 17th and anyone can join at any time. Please keep in mind that spoilers are allowed in this thread but only up to the group's current reading place. Do not spoil the book if you've read further than the group. Any extra days can be used to catch up!

Each week we will be reading by chapters. The suggested Buddy Read discussion schedule is as follows:

I'm through the first 9 chapters! I may fall behind a tad until I am back to work on the 19th but I'll catch back up then. I adore Audrey Rose and Thomas so very much! This one is setting up to be quite a fun ride!

I'm around chapter 6 at the moment and omg I think it'll be fun too but I'm thinking more about the kind of fun that comes from (view spoiler)[banter where two characters are not yet official but have a sort of understanding, especially bc Thomas is a little shit and he keeps teasing Audrey Rose and it's so adorable, I'm going to barf rainbows. His sister showing up.. that scene had me cracking up! Making Audrey Rose so jealous lol. Also when Audrey interrupted the ladies bwhahaha! Loving this so much! (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I know! I love that that wasn't swept under the rug at all. I don't love that she's suffering because it's really painful to watch her like this though. And it's adding a whole layer of "unreliable narrator" to it cause, as a reader, I'm now so thrown off by what's a real clue and what isn't. (hide spoiler)]

@selina Thomas' little sly actions just to annoy Audrey further is one of my favorite things about his character.

Chapter 21 (view spoiler)[Okay Thomas playing dead was just very insensitive to Audrey, and his deduction skills should've been used to understand the pain she's going through. Like her brother was literally electrocuted in front of her eyes. I'm honestly so mad at Thomas for that. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 39 is literally one of my worst nightmares.

Ahhh! Guys it has been one of Those Weeks and I am exhausted lol so I have just been listening on and off whenever I had the brain space for audiobooks at work (which wasn't really a lot bc it's busy times). BUT it's friday and I have an hour left of the book and I'm about to do some major online shopping without the buying part (because we have to wait for that salary) so I'm gonna try and stay up and complete this!

So far, since it's been busy at work and I'm not really allocating a lot of brain power on trying to figure out the mystery in this... I don't have theories on who the killer is? I'm kinda like Audrey right now where it's like "maybe it's this person. or no what if they're getting framed, etc". So pretty much what Audrey thinks, I think. I did guess that thing about Thomas though! (view spoiler)[his ancestry! but also I can't work out if I just guessed correctly or if there was a previous spoiler I've read that made me think he was a prince and related to Dracula? ??? Maybe it was the novella called Becoming the Dark Prince, cause I knew it was about him... so maybe my subconscious just worked itself out somehow lol (hide spoiler)]

But yeah other than that, I got nothin'! ..........okay I'm lying, I got one theory but it's more a gut feeling than an educated guess lol. We'll see how it turns out

(view spoiler)[ I felt the same. I guessed his ancestry quite early on because Danesti called him "Highness" (that's what google translated it as) and given the history it made sense early on. Also yeah "Becoming the Dark Prince" also solidified that fact for me (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 39 I would rather kill myself with a gun to the head than be killed by that. Or never open that door ever again.
