I simply adore this series!!! I loved this novella,we got to see what happened when Audrey rose was stabbed and got insight into Thomas's thoughts, fears and his deep feelings for Audrey rose. Thomas has always had a fire, but he has always tried to keep his emotions in check, but we see that his feelings for Audrey are intense. Theirs is a true love match and seeing them both finally letting their guards down with each other was fabulous. Can't wait for the next book in this series!!! Until next t ...more

Meh. This felt unnecessary and like a way to earn an extra $.99 from readers, but this could be due to the fact that I read this directly after finishing Escaping from Houdini, which added a super repetitive element to the mix. But Thomas Cresswell is life, so 3 STARS it is. ...more

I hope Thomas Cresswell is doing well, it must be very hard to carry the whole series on his shoulders.

Just a PSA, but I will die for Thomas. He is the sweetest, most respectful, kind hearted, selfless, gentleman I have ever had the pleasure of reading about.

Everyone, take notes and be more like Mr. Thomas Cresswell.

My favorite character since day one has been Thomas. And he has continued to become even more so with each passing book.

Getting this story from his perspective was like a prayer answered. I loved being inside his head and seeing the struggles within himself and his love for Audrey Rose. So sweet!

Maniscalco’s writing is glorious, addicting, and captivating. I can’t wait to read the last book in the series!

Welp, add this to the list of all the novellas that have let me down. I pretty much knew going into this that I wasn't going to walk away feeling anything other than....nothing. Because that's just it, novellas literally do nothing for me. I don't really care about reading the same part of a prior book from a different characters point of view, even if it is Thomas Cresswell. And even though this did have a

82 pages is not nearly enough Thomas POV, but I loved the scenes we got. Especially with what happens in Houdini — getting his side of things definitely made me a bit happier.

I could read these two forever and I can’t wait to binge reread the entire series.

[9/12/19] - I read this to distract from the pain of finished the series but (as I should have guessed), it was just salt to the wound. Five stars

kjdashkjdhaskjda I just love Thomas Creswell so much and his love for Audrey Rose is adorable. This novella is exactly what I needed in the anticipation of the upcoming fourth book :)

I was hoping that this novella would help me change my mind about not wanting to read the last book in this series but GAHHH... I think I might be even more upset now. I hate Audrey Gross Wadsworth with every fiber of my being. I. hate. her. Was this novella meant to un-salt salty readers or something? Because it did!!! not!!! succeed!!! Like, they BARELY discussed her infidelity because it wasn't fully acknowledged??? She never even apologized??? Thomas wasn't ev

Great short story to get us by until the next book. I normally dont like reading the same story from a different point of view, but this was done really well and didnt feel like a repeat.

Plus... its Thomas Cresswell. ❤️ Enough said!

Oh and one last thing... If you haven't read this series yet, what the heck are you waiting for? SOO GOOD!

all it took was this one novella and now I can’t wait to get back into reading. honestly this almost made me cry. almost. I love you Thomas Cresswell 🖤
3.5 stars*

Thomas James Dorin Cresswell gives me some serious heart eyes.
But also, this was just 64 pages of Thomas being insecure about his relationship with Audrey.
So that is that.

Thomas Cresswell is by far one of the best characters out there. He deserves the whole series to himself, Audrey Rose who?

Update (09/10/2019): I still love getting anything in Thomas's POV, but I lowered my star rating because there was way too much romance in this for me. I'm not a fan of a lot of romance and this whole novella was basically just romance.

This was perfection and I loved every minute of it. I would seriously 100% read an entire book in Thomas's POV and this also just made me even more excited for Capturing the Devil!

I really, REALLY loved this. It was just a super fun read. I had been missing Mr. Cresswell & Audrey Rose.

This glimpse into his point of view is wonderful. You see all of the passion he hides, and it is... nothing short of amazing to be able to experience that.
Any Stalking Jack the Ripper series fans- READ! ❤️

A completely and utterly biased rating but anything SJTR related gets 5 stars from me.

I think I enjoyed this less than others because I just finished reading Escaping from Houdini and this novella was basically a retelling of that from Thomas's POV. I don't feel like I was really given much information that I didn't already know and I found some of Thomas's inner monologue (while sweet) mostly cheesy and eye-roll worthy. Don't get me wrong, the way he loves Audrey is the exact way I always suspected and it was beautiful to see him so in love with her, but for me, the que

It might not be mathematically probable, but I was certain no one loved another as much as I loved Audrey Rose.

My cheeks hurt from smiling nonstop while reading Cresswell's point of view. He's just so pure, I don't think I can ever get enough of him.

Who but an abysmal creature would choose such a dark fate?

This story takes place during their unfortunate trip at the RMS Etruria, specifically during the time Audrey was injured, in Thomas Cresswell's perspective. It also shows what happened after they are reunited in New York.

I think this is an essential read if you are a fan of the SJTR series. It's not just Thomas' POV of the events. It shows the aftermath of their relationship and them trying to figure out what comes next after

Aww I so needed a Pov from my beloved Thomas Cresswell.
I love it
With the release of Capturing the Devil just around the corner, this novella came out just in the right time to serve as sort of a recap of the events of Escaping from Houdini and remind me just how much I loved these wonderful characters and the story Maniscalco wove around them.

It was interesting to finally get a glimpse into Thomas’s mind and see the last few scenes from Escaping from Houdini his point of view. I kept going back and forth between EfH and Becoming the Dark Prince and m
