A boy is sent to live with a long lost relative. Cant remember why. He makes a friend who i think was a girl. The house is a mansion with the family member never leavimg a tower or attic and hes never to be disturbed. The house tennants are less than usual because of the man never leaving. I think thw boy got bullied at sxhool and some type of magical vines helped him. I dont remember alot. If anyone knows that would be awesome thanks. Sorry for typos on cell phone.

Oh also the boy and friend discover a big wall and climb it then find something magical on the other side.

I think the man in the tower or attic stays there because he is staring at the sky waiting to see something he seen as a boy and eventually the boy and man end up talking about it.

What year did you read this? When you read it did it seem old or new, based on style of writing, any technology in the story, etc.? Do you remember the cover?

I read this around 2010, it seemed relatively new, perhaps 2000+ it seemed. The cover if I remember correctly was navy blue. I "think" I remember what the friends found behind the wall, but if I say that it might spoil it for some users. It was a good fantasy adventure book for teenagers, but I loved reading it in my early twenties still. Also I think I remember that the boys mother past away is the reason to why he is sent to live in the mansion in the first place.
