Maybe next week sometime?

I lived on Whidbey Island for 9 years and spent a lot of time in Seattle. So I am appreciating that.
I actually woke up in the mood to watch Frasier.

I have to admit..I am not enjoying that aspect of this book as well..

I like that aspect but that's because I like books that are written this way. I can see why it would be annoying to other people though.

lol..ya think?!?
Bee is amazing though..right

I love Bee and Bernadette each in their own ways!

What did you think about the second half of the book (view spoiler)

Honestly by the time the 2nd half off the book came around I had really lost interest and didn't really care what had happened to Bernadette.

I just started, but also thought Bea was younger than she is...like you said it might be the narrator using that shrill voice when using Bea's voice.

I've seen the mixed review too, so a little tentative, but wanted a funny book, so fingers crossed this works for me!

Book Synopsis:
Bernadette Fox is notorious. To her Microsoft-guru husband, she's a fearlessly opinionated partner; to fellow private-school mothers in Seattle, she's a disgrace; to design mavens, she's a revolutionary architect, and to 15-year-old Bee, she is a best friend and, simply, Mom.
Then Bernadette disappears. It began when Bee aced her report card and claimed her promised reward: a family trip to Antarctica. But Bernadette's intensifying allergy to Seattle—and people in general—has made her so agoraphobic that a virtual assistant in India now runs her most basic errands. A trip to the end of the earth is problematic.
To find her mother, Bee compiles email messages, official documents, secret correspondence—creating a compulsively readable and touching novel about misplaced genius and a mother and daughter's role in an absurd world.
