Part 5 - Dangers Past: (view spoiler)[I could accept the aftermath coming to pass, except really, after a drunken one-night stand, Soo-Lin is pregnant? Elgin, how could you? Men are soooo STUPID!

Bee sounds like she's coming apart. I'm glad that she's coming home.

I am truly starting to despise Elgin and I'm already there with Soo-Lin. But if Audrey Griffin can redeem herself, then there's hope for everyone.

I have read a lot of books since but I will try and remember and discuss. Yes, you are correct, this is not YA. I think it is humor and it is adult fiction. All though, I didn't find it the most humorous book.

I am not really remembering much about the 20 mile house. I don't really think Bernadette is crazy, maybe some depression and social anxiety, but I think she has her wits about her. Her husband and his secretary are idiots, IMO.

I also love the 20 mile house! I kept thinking that maybe I should do this if we every build our own house, it would be an amazing sustainable thing to do.

Part 6 - The White Continent: I was getting frustrated with Bee (view spoiler)[because she was avoiding Antarctica adventures to punish her father. I'm glad that she finally went to count penguins.

I'm glad that Bee and her father made up. And they actually got to spend a little bit of time together.

Bee found her! Elgin and Bee figured it out together.

Part 7 - The Runaway Bunny: I'm so glad that we finally got to hear what really happened (view spoiler)[in Bernadette's getaway. And I'm so glad that she didn't abandon Bee, but had actually sent a letter asking her blessing. And luckily Bee showed up in person to authorize Bernadette's trip to the South Pole.

I could've bought it all if Soo-Lin wasn't pregnant with Elgin's child. I really needed an Epilogue saying how Bernadette and Elgin are getting along. I think the worse part was Bernadette's multiple miscarriages and then Bee's bad heart and here's Soo-Lin getting knocked up after one try.

I was also annoyed that Elgin was going to Soo-Lin's house for dinner once a week. If they weren't an item than why bother? The baby wasn't even born yet.

Finally, they are moving out of the decrepit, leaking mansion.

I didn't mind the writing style, but I didn't like the characters. I wanted to shake everyone in the book at some point. It was a different and strange book, but filled with an array of odd characters and mildly entertaining.
