It is a world building book that is for sure. A lot of the language is unique to the book. I want to enjoy it instead of having to rewind constantly... while driving.

Thanks Rachel. My memory isn't what it used to be. That would've been a good book to use for someone on a mission. Also it is an excellent book anyway. :D Definitely read it when you can.

I've read it and I agree it is quite good. The book I am reading now Practical Demonkeeping, has two characters trying to capture a demon. Would that work for someone being on a mission? Or does have to be an official mission like a military sort of thing?

message 581: by Allison Ann (new)

Allison Ann | 1245 comments Books not claimed for the mini so far are:

Drink on the cover
Glasses (for drinking) on the cover

I have books for both if no one can find some, so don't stress out too much. We still need story books though, so long and/or interesting titles would be great.

Hi Erica - the task says glasses and this is just one glass. But I think we could use it for a drink on the cover.

It seems we have all the task from the mini challenge claimed, so we need titles for the story (6 books)

Also, we're almost complete with our march hands, this is what's missing:

Hand 1:
Wild (Reverse, Skip, 3 or 5)

Hand 7:
Wild (Reverse, Skip or 5)

Hand 11:
Wild (3, 4, 6 or 7)

Hand 12:
3

Hand 13:
Wild (0, 2 or 7)

Hand 15:
0

Rachel (stillchasethewind) | 452 comments I had to send my son to stay with my mother in law. The daycare I use is no longer open and I am an essential worker. I will definitely be done with ready player one tonight and my green cover in the next couple days. Big :( How are all of you guys holding up with all the craziness going on?

message 596: by Allison Ann (new)

Allison Ann | 1245 comments I'll be honest. I live in the middle of nowhere in a town that is 100% tourist based in the summer and closed in the winter. We basically self-isolate normally in the winter, so I'm not seeing a big difference. My bakery business is already pickup only in winter and our cabins and marina are closed until the ice melts and the snow goes away. So work continues the same. However, with the borders closing, most of our residents that go south in the winter are going to be coming home because there is no way the insurance companies are going to honour their travel insurance, so those coming back will hopefully be honest and responsible. Our infection rate is 0% still, but who knows what they'll be bringing back. I'm always glad to not live in a city, but even more so now.

message 597: by Nicole (new)

Nicole | 241 comments It’s been okay here. Very hard to get groceries, though. I’m secretly glad I get to go to work because I don’t think I could handle being cooped up this long, haha.
We have less than 100 cases in our metro area although it’s very hard to get a test so I’m sure that number is low. I am an ICU nurse in an iCU that is supposed to remain “clean” in case we have transplant patients, but all elective procedures have been canceled and visitors are banned. So it’s been eerily quiet, quieter than I can ever remember it being in 7 years.

message 598: by Rayne (new)

Rayne (raynebair) | 201 comments Both my husband and I are working from home and my daughter is dong her schooling online (7th grade). So we are all at home, every day, all day. It's definitely been an adjustment.

One thing I've enjoyed is being able to cook our big meals at lunch time and then just eat lighter dinners, rather than heavy meals close to bed time.

We are not on any kind of order to stay home or shelter in place, but we are being strongly urged to. My state is still just shy of 200 confirmed cases (no deaths thankfully), so things aren't as bad as some places, but I suspect it's going to get worse.

Alissa | 351 comments Completed - Good Boy: My Life in Seven Dogs

My husband and I are also both working from home now. Him all week last week and me since Wednesday. There is no official lockdown here, just strongly suggested everyone stay home, but it is probably coming. It was springlike all weekend and since people were told going outside is fine - people were everywhere outside.

Got groceries Friday and it wasn't bad though and since we both had yesterday off went for a drive to get out of the house. I'm not built to stay in the house so we will see how this goes.
