Thanks Tiffany! I've entered the books into the tracking sheet but the Rosie Project has a red cover - I didn't see a version with a blue cover. I tentatively put it down for reverse card as we have a bunch of those.

yes - i've entered them into the tracking sheet
BarbaraAnn wrote: "Tiffany wrote: "It’s the paperback version that has the blue cover"Sorry Tiffany, you're right."
No worries! I was wondering lol I was holding it in my hand, wondering if maybe i was colour blind
I just wanted to say that I didn't read Darker shade of magic. I read charlie and the chocolate factory. Please change, thanks
Anubha wrote: "I just wanted to say that I didn't read Darker shade of magic. I read charlie and the chocolate factory. Please change, thanks"Hi - It's been done. Thanks!
That's great! we have officially completed all the books on the sheet for March. Thanks Everyone!!!!!
It’s based on the points given for books and the mini-challenge. For instance a team that has more color cards than another team will get more points. (cards are generated by random)
Tiffany wrote: "We have a bunch of colour cards this month so hopefully we will move up a few places"Yes. Between color and other speciality cards we should have a really strong month
Hi Everyone - the April Mini-Challenge is up. I'll post a copy shortly, but the first step will be to select a recipe that one of the other teams created. Please take a look at the challenge and the recipes and vote for which recipe you'd like to use. here's the link to the recipes:link to recipes
April Mini ChallengeThis is an optional mini challenge for our UNO players. This month we are joining another team for a bake-off!
In February, you assembled your space treats and in March you embarked on your space travel. So now it is time to come back home and have a tea party with your new found treats.
◈ You can choose any recipe from a different team (found here). With that recipe in hand you need to decide as a team how to eat their treat. You do this by:
→ picking word(s) to "spell-it-out" you can do this with up to 15 letters (they need to be complete words, not only spelling partial words)
→ picking word(s) that you can find on the cover of books or as words in text. You can do this with up to 15 words
→ deciding what else you would like to serve at the tea party. Complete the story on the spreadsheet using book titles. (15 words) Be as creative as you like. You can use as much or as little of a title as you see fit.
◈ Every book read, i.e. every task completed, is worth 10 points.
◈ If you complete all your requirements for a tea party, your team will receive 30 bonus points.
◈ Share your tea party with the team that created the recipe you were given for an additional 10 points. (This means posting to their thread your tea party story)
◈ Books can be started at any point since the start of the UNO challenge (Feb 1)
◈ Books need to be finished after the start of this mini challenge on April 12, 7pm AEST (countdown is here) and before May 1 at 7pm AEST (Countdown to the end of April is here)
◈ Books used for this mini challenge do not need to be separate books for what you are claiming for your UNO hands
◈ The usual book length rules apply
◈ Team spreadsheets will be updated with a mini challenge tab so that you can track your books and claim your points
I looked over the recipes, and I liked the sounds of the recipes in either message 5 or message 6. They are quite small recipes, which made me think that we'd be able to quickly pick a list of words to use, since the recipes arent 5000 words long lol. I just felt like, the sooner we decided on a word list, the sooner we can start completing it, does that make sense, or am I way off?
Awesome. I think those two sound pretty straight forward, but if someone else has a suggestion, by all means!
Sounds good. Also, Uno Pixie clarified the spell out rules:Spell-it-out rules
For this mini-challenge, you are using the same rules that apply for UNO. So a letter needs to be the first letter in the book title, author first name or surname, character name or nickname, or setting. Articles (a/an/the) can be ignored in the book titles. For this spell-it-out, you can also use the first letter in the series name.
I’m clearly over thinking this. So, we choose a word, and that words letters are divided through 1-15 in section one?
I am not getting this at all how would someone use recipes and words? am just so confused. Can someone give an example?
OK! I vote we use recipe 1, Science Brioche. There are a lot of words in that recipe that will be super easy to find in text.
Maybe for words in text, but not for the cover words. I haven't looked at all of the recipes, but number 2 isn't too bad, even though it's shorter. Words like dust, star, bee, honey, venus, pixie, dust, glass, peaks, and berries seem pretty easy to find for me...
Anubha wrote: "I am not getting this at all how would someone use recipes and words? am just so confused. Can someone give an example?"Hi Anubha - you're not alone. I was confused but I think this is actually pretty close to the February mini-challenge.
For Section 1 - we spell out a few of the words from the recipe we pick and we spell out a few of the words, using 15 books - can use 1st letter of title, author name or character name
For Section 2, we also pick words from the recipe but they need to be items on the cover or in the text of the book
For section 3 - we just need to create a story of the tea party we'll hold.

Hi everyone, this is the recipe we'll be using, so I'm posting it here to make it easier to find words. I added 'airtight', 'sea', and 'salt' to the spell out part, and will try to add a few words that might be easy to find in text or covers, but you can use any word from the recipe. If your book doesn't fit anything or the spell out, just add it to the story part. :)VanGuard Sabayon
Makes 12 small or 6 medium servings
INGREDIENTS
6 eggs, (Yolks only)
60 grams shredded coconut
80 grams Pure Sugar
120 Grams – Dry White Wine
½ cup Thickened Cream
1 tsp cornflour
1 Vanilla Bean, seeds scraped
300 grams fresh Berries – Blueberries, Strawberries (cut diagonally)
Juice of 1 orange
270 grams of diced starfruit and Kiwifruit
2 passion fruit (Keep cold in airtight container)
Zest of 2 meteoroid limes (ask your local NASA)
2 Lady finger bananas, sliced 1 cm thick circles
Lemon juice (optional)
Garnish
Touch of Full Moon Sea Salt
1 mint leaf
KITCHEN TOOLS
A sharp knife
A large bowl made from asteroid or nickel
A medium glass bowl (24cm in diameter minimum)
A large saucepan of simmering water
A balloon whisk or Electric beater
Dessert goblets or large martini glasses
A Plate
A Spatula
A Spoon
Optional
A Pen (Mark off steps as you go)
Food handling gloves (Hygiene)
METHOD
1. About an hour before serving the dessert, rinse the berries and drain them on a plate and paper towel. Slice off the stems and halve or quarter the strawberries lengthwise, depending on size, into the glass bowl. Add the starfruit, kiwifruit and bananas. Sprinkle over a teaspoon of the sugar, the meteroroid lime zest and the orange juice; fold gently together to blend well. Taste and add more sugar or orange juice if needed, set aside to macerate.
2. Whisk the egg yolks, wine, vanilla, cornflour, cream and sugar in the asteroid/nickel bowl. Rest the bowl in the saucepan over hot water. Whisk constantly for 4 to 5 minutes or more to cook the sauce, until it has the consistency of lightly whipped cream and peaks start to form. Clear the bottom of the bowl constantly with the whisk so that the eggs do not scramble and adjust the heat as needed. Taste the sauce — the sabayon should never get so hot that you can't stick your very clean finger in it — and whisk drops of lemon juice or more sugar if you want. When thick, foamy, and tripled in volume, remove from heat. It can be served hot as is, tepid, or cool.
3. Spoon a portion of the fruit mix from the glass bowl — 1/2 cup or more — into each goblet or glass. Sprinkle a thin layer of shredded coconut on top (to your stomach/taste) then top with 1/3 to 1/2 cup of warm or cool sabayon.
4. Remove the pulp from the passionfruit.
5. Garnish with passionfruit pulp, full moon sea salt and a mint leaf

Hi Amar - as you're reading, please keep an eye out for any of the words in the recipe that Cinthia posted. If you find one, add it to section 2 of the spreadsheet. If your book has a letter in airtight, sea or salt (author first initial for first or last name, book title) add it to section 1 of mini challenge. if it doesn't fit either of these, add your book to section 3 and it will become part of the final story.
