I found this article about the most checked-out books in the 125 years of the NYC library's history of some interest -- https://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/13/bo.... The first thing that struck me was that 6 of the top 10 (and number 11) were children's books. I think this is positive - either parents are checking out to read to their kids or kids are checking out, showing promise that they will be readers for life.

It turns out there's one book missing: https://slate.com/culture/2020/01/goo...A lapidary children's book.
Dystopian lit , children’s lit (I agree with Linda)and a self-help book. Plus a novel told from a child’s POV. I guess it does reflect that adults are still fascinated by gloomy futures

Lapidary means...
For all the work she did in promoting childhood reading, despite her distaste for Goodnight Moon, I wonder if there is a childrens book award in the name of Anne Carroll Moore, as there is for Pura Belpré, who did much to add Spanish books for children to the collections.
